There was the sound of whispers surrounding her entire senses. It was the kind of voice that sounded so near yet so far at the same time. The kind of whispers that didn't feel like it belonged to the world.
And though Evangeline's green eyes were tightly shut, she could muster a few words into comprehension, hearing the ghost-like whisper muttering, "..doesn't smell like one."
"He would never bring any normal human to the castle."
"It cannot be human. Something like him wouldn't be interested in anything normal. Not when he is also inhuman."
"She smell like one, however. A human lass through and through."
"Does she? It's odd though, she smell different."
"I have to agree. She smells like that one... the one shut from Heaven."
And Evangeline's eyes snapped open suddenly.
It was as if she had just been startled awake, her heart racing so loudly against her ribcage to the point she could almost feel her body shaking with it.
