Hey it's me Lyuken. Well this isn't really a chapter and it's more of a informatory. Because I was having a hard time able to put some explaination into place like the grade system of knights. Well everyone in this world already knows about grading, so the scene of Samael explaining to Mark felt really illogical. But that doesn't solves the problem of lack of explanation so here's some of it.
Grade system:
Squire
Strength level: Superhuman
Resonants who hasn't achieved a rank of knight yet one such being is Mark but I got some plans for him.
Their strength isn't really too much. But quite higher than that of an average human.
Grade 1
Strength level: Low
Squires finally getting the rank of knights after they learn to manifest their resonance into physical form or world.
Their strength can vary from destroying walls to multiple of them.
Grade 2
Strength level: Medium
Knights who finally masters their resonance and able to use it on will. Their bond between the soul and body is stronger than that of a squire or grade 1 knight.
Their strength is higher than that of grade 1 knights but it isn't too much of a gap. A couple of grade 1 knight can take down a grade 2 knight if they have good coordination.
Grade 3
Strength level: High
A Grade 3 knight and a grade 2 knight has a gap which is that of a iron mace and a small gun. They are faster, stronger and knows few common techniques like camouflage, teleportation or void break[1]. Along with the second stage of resonance which is hex/grace.
Their strength is far higher than that the previous grades. But usually most of these knights enroll in assassin groups or mercs group, because the growth from here just gets more difficult.
Grade 4
Strength level: Very high
A grade 4 knight is far above a grade 3 knight. The difference between them is that of a tank and a baseball bat. Knights of this rank have mastered resonance along with their hex/grace. Some of them even has celestial dominion but due to the lack of mastery the better choice is not to use it.
Their strength is incomparable to that of the previous grades. It will take a few well trained grade 3 knights to take down a single weakest grade 4 death's child(well that's what happened in the story so far). And a single grade 4 knight can leave countries in ruin overnight.
Grade 5
Strength: Extremely high
The grade 5 knights have mastered their celestial dominion as well as every common techniques. Becoming a knight of this rank would take years of dedication to grow. Only a handful of such knights are there all over the world. And thus they are kept as a trump card in grave situations.
Their strength is exponentially higher than every other knights combined(except guardian ofcourse that is).
Grade Gurdian
Danger level:?????????
Oh?...
I think..it's impossible to classify their danger level. They are the real monster in this world full of monsters. Their bond between soul and body is without any limits. It's just luck that not every guardian knights are evil. Otherwise there's no force in this creation capable of stopping them... except the Gods. But I doubt they will ever interfere in mortal affairs directly.
Their strength is.....immeasurable...
I hope they never switches side from protecting humanity....
The grading for death's children is same as a knight's grading system. However the one's who's on same level as guardian knights are called abyssal knights instead.
However due to the death's children not possessing a physical body, they have no trouble of drawing power from their soul as they are made only of soul. And because of that even if the grading of the death's children is same as that of the knight's, they are slightly stronger than them.
Their grading isn't done by mastery of some mere techniques, but purely from the amount of necra they radiate. When a grade 4 death's children gain consciousness, they can use resonance as well, and stopping them from there on, is near impossible by any knight of same or lower grade.
Oh but a fun-fact, grading of knights can also be done by the amount of aether they radiate but it's rare to see a squire with high levels of aether. And the higher ranks have egos bigger than that of a cave. They consider leaking unnecessary aether is unprofessional.
Well that's one less work to do as the grading is explained.
