"If they really wanted you dead, then they wouldn't have called the emergency line using your phone," Alex said flatly, rolling his eyes away in irritation. "It's obvious the person realized their mistake on time and quickly called for help." He paused, his tone firm and analytical. "The time tally matches perfectly....the time you were attacked and the time the emergency call was placed."
"What if it was a different person who called for help?" Damien snapped, raising an eyebrow with anger flashing clearly across his face. "That's also possible, isn't it? Or are you saying that can't happen?"
"Oh no," Alex replied dryly, turning back to him with a sharp look. "Did you suddenly go dumb because you were attacked?" He scoffed openly. "You can't even remember the face of the person who attacked you despite being an alpha. So honestly, what exactly do you expect me to think?"
