Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 - Researching Game Stats, Number One Player Lisa!

After a bit of travel, they finally arrived at the Temple of the Lion.

Just as expected, her in-game self was waiting at the temple entrance.

"Well now, hello there, cutie."

"It's so touching that you'd come to help with such a dangerous task."

"If there's anything you don't understand during your time here, feel free to ask your big sister, okay?"

That was certainly her way of speaking.

Lisa felt as if she were looking in a mirror; there was no sense of dissonance at all.

And upon entering the domain, "she" joined the party, just as expected.

Fighting while playing as herself was, of course, the most immersive experience.

Lisa was just about to test what kind of abilities her in-game self had been given when Lin Yu walked over and reminded her:

"My apologies, Miss Lisa, but your game time has ended."

Lisa glanced at the clock. Indeed, one hour was up.

But she was at the critical moment of testing her own combat prowess in the game. How could she possibly stop now?

She decisively pulled out another 10,000 Mora and bought another hour.

After Lin Yu walked away, she eagerly controlled her character and entered the battle.

---o---

"This is... punishment!"

Sparks of lightning flickered in her hand, and a wide curtain of light appeared at her feet.

The surroundings grew dim, and as the energy finished gathering, all the Pyro Slimes within the curtain of light were struck by a bolt of lightning.

ZAP!

Lisa saw the purple number 103 appear above the slimes' heads, representing the instantaneous Electro damage dealt to them.

Previously, the highest damage either Amber or Kaeya could deal was in the twenties or thirties. But with a single strike, she could deal over a hundred damage, and to a group of enemies at that!

Although holding the Elemental Skill resulted in a rather long cooldown, Lisa was quite satisfied with the effect.

"It seems that among the four current characters, I am without a doubt the strongest."

A faint smile touched the corners of Lisa's lips.

Everyone has a vain side, and she was no exception.

Besides, this powerful ability was only her Elemental Skill; she hadn't even used her even stronger Elemental Burst yet.

"Surrender now."

During the third combat encounter, having accumulated enough Elemental Energy, Lisa unleashed her Elemental Burst.

A lightning rose bloomed from her position, transforming into the shape of a lantern.

Although the damage wasn't particularly high, it automatically attacked nearby enemies without her needing to do anything.

During this time, she could even switch to other characters to fight.

Yes, this is the 'Witch of Purple Rose'.

Indifferent, elegant, not even needing to get her own hands dirty.

Overall, Lisa was quite satisfied with her performance in the game.

Of course, her own real abilities were not limited to just this.

If she were to use her true power, the resulting spectacle would be far more than just "a few little sparks."

It seemed this shopkeeper had a certain degree of understanding about Mondstadt and some of its Vision holders, but he wasn't omniscient.

At the very least, her hidden powers were not truly reflected in this game.

After a few battles, Lisa successfully reached the end of the domain and destroyed the node of Stormterror's power.

She still felt a little unsatisfied.

Perhaps due to a natural affinity for herself, her control over the in-game "Lisa" had become increasingly skilled and intuitive.

Unfortunately, the Hilichurls and slimes weren't very durable, falling after just a few hits.

In the midst of the battle, Lisa also keenly noticed a problem.

The catalyst she was using was just an ordinary magic tome.

How could such a thing be worthy of her status?

Lisa remembered getting several weapons from chests earlier. She wondered if there was a suitable catalyst among them to serve as her new weapon.

But... where could she change weapons?

Just as she was pondering this, Lin Yu walked over, and Lisa posed the question to him.

"There's a character portrait in the top-right corner. Tapping it will open the character panel."

"Character panel?"

Lisa tapped it and instantly discovered a whole new world.

The Traveler, Amber, Kaeya, and herself—Lisa—were all listed here, each with their own detailed statistics.

An ordinary person seeing so many numbers for the first time would surely be overwhelmed, but Lisa was different. She was skilled at studying complex and tedious knowledge, and she could always grasp the key points in the shortest amount of time.

Like a thirsty sponge, she began to study each of the character's stats one by one.

"Attack determines the damage a character can deal, but it's affected by Crit Rate and Crit Damage..."

"Elemental Reactions also provide varying degrees of amplification to the damage..."

The more Lisa researched, the more she discovered that the damage numbers in this game were not so simple. They were influenced by many factors.

Besides one's own stats, there were also the enemy's Defense, Elemental Resistance, shields, and so on...

"What an interesting system. To think that the strength of elemental power could be broken down into such detailed data," Lisa couldn't help but praise.

She spent some time gaining a solid understanding of the game's damage calculation.

Then, Lisa tapped on her own portrait.

A full-body image of herself appeared on the screen.

And it could be viewed from any angle with the touch of a finger.

Lisa was very confident in her own figure.

She had a feeling that once this game became more widely known, some people might just open her character panel to... peek at her from certain unspeakable angles.
