Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: Beast Spirit

[Beast Form]: A Druid communicates with Beast Spirits, channeling natural Energy to temporarily reshape flesh and blood, transforming into a beast form.

After transformation, the Druid automatically comprehends the talents and skills of the transformed creature, with strength corresponding to their own level.

[Wild Blessing]: Releases a blessing from the wilderness upon oneself or a target, enhancing defense, elemental resistance, mental resistance, accelerating stamina recovery, and wound healing.

[Frenzied Growth]: Consumes large amounts of Spiritual Power to control plants within a certain range, causing them to grow wildly. (Rapid Growth is the advanced version, unlocked when progress value reaches completion.)

Among the three skills, only Frenzied Growth didn't provide release information. The other two skills poured knowledge of how to cultivate and release them into Han Ning's mind like an epiphany.

[Class: Earth Druid (Intermediate)]

[Level: Lv5 (1/2000)]

[Spiritual Power: 50/50]

[Mental Power: 2]

[Skills:

Vine Manipulation (Advanced): 83/500

Animal Companion (Intermediate): 187/200

Gills Technique (Intermediate): 129/200

Tree Skin Art (Intermediate): 87/200

Rejuvenation (Intermediate): 53/200

Nature's Blessing (Beginner): 33/200

Rapid Growth (Intermediate): 167/200]

[Talent: Earth Blessing]

[Earth Blessing]: Earth Druids are blessed by the earth. When releasing skills related to plants, earth, or land-based Shapeshifting, the effects are enhanced (approximately 30%-40%).

Looking at the newly refreshed data, Han Ning closed his eyes again, quietly savoring the changes. His Spiritual Power limit had surged to fifty points, and he could clearly feel the surging power between his muscles.

"Wild Blessing is a strengthening auxiliary skill, Frenzied Growth must wait until Rapid Growth's proficiency increases before it can be unlocked, so..."

His focus shifted to the knowledge about [Beast Form].

To successfully complete the transformation, there are two methods.

The first is to directly face the target beast. In this process, one must not only observe its movements, daily postures, and behaviors but also, like making a mold, continuously inject natural Energy into the target's body to understand its form and essence.

The advantage is that although the cultivation time is long, the difficulty is low, and there is little danger.

The second method is to use the earth as a bridge to communicate with the spirits of all things.

The earth nurtures all beasts. After death, the bones and souls of land-dwelling creatures mostly slumber within the earth.

Druids can sense the Beast Spirit imprints embedded in the natural cycle through the earth's pulse.

Each time a Beast Spirit is communicated with and recognized, its form can be condensed into an imprint and stored in the mental world.

There is no limit to the number of Beast Spirit imprints, but switching forms requires transformation time. As the level of [Beast Form] increases, this process will be greatly shortened.

The time required for this method is uncertain, and the difficulty is uncertain, entirely dependent on whether the Druid can gain the Beast Spirit's recognition, heavily reliant on the Druid's spiritual affinity.

Han Ning felt that given his current circumstances, there was little chance he could live face-to-face with a powerful land-dwelling supernatural beast to imitate its form.

He had no choice but to opt for the second method.

. Communicating with Beast Spirits

Han Ning recalled the method of communicating with Beast Spirits as he left the dangerous area where he had hunted the Crocodile Lizard. He found a relatively safe clearing near Azure Cloud Resort.

"Snowflake, keep watch for me. Don't let any creatures approach!"

"Hiss—!" Snowflake crouched in front of Han Ning, vigilantly scanning their surroundings.

Han Ning sat on the ground, inserting his fingers into the soil just as he had done before when connecting with the earth.

He lowered his upper body, pressing his forehead lightly against the ground, holding his breath and focusing his mind.

"Release natural Energy, connect with the earth, communicate with the Beast Spirits."

Silently reciting the ancient prayer that originated from the depths of his soul, Han Ning extended his mental will like invisible roots, spreading deeper through his arms and forehead, attempting to touch the ancient pulse slumbering beneath the earth.

Whoosh—

Torrential rain poured down.

Han Ning remained motionless like a statue, unbothered by the wind and rain.

Time passed quietly.

Then—

A deep, heavy, and indescribably chaotic will—like that of a slumbering beast being awakened—suddenly stirred.

In an instant, Han Ning's spiritual perception shifted.

The gray curtain of rain around him vanished, replaced by an endless void that enveloped him.

Within this void, countless illusory halos of varying sizes and shapes rose like stars suspended in the darkness.

Some resembled swift deer, agile and lively.

Others took the form of massive bears, as solid as mountains.

Some were shaped like leopards, their streamlined bodies brimming with explosive power.

Others were bizarre and indistinct, carrying an aura of ancient wilderness.

These were all projections of powerful creatures that had once existed—or still existed—on this land.

Beside each glowing silhouette, a panel naturally appeared, displaying a brief introduction:

[Ironback Rock Bear - Level Cap: Lv15 - Talent: Earth Protection (enhances physical defense)]

[Wind-Chasing Shadow Leopard - Level Cap: Lv18 - Talent: Swift Shadow (enhances burst speed)]

[Swamp Poison Giant Lizard - Level Cap: Lv12 - Talent: Corrosive Poison Bite (attacks inflict corrosive toxins)]

[Level Cap represents the highest strength the creature achieved in life.]

"I need to find a land-based predator with strong mental resistance."

When exploring the Mist Zone, the top priority was resisting the pervasive mental assaults—otherwise, he'd already be at a disadvantage against the Mist Zone Monsters.

Han Ning's consciousness swiftly scanned through the countless Beast Spirits, filtering and searching among them.

Suddenly, the glowing silhouettes in one area seemed to part as if pushed aside by an invisible force.

A colossal beastly figure emerged, revealing its majesty.

It was the form of a massive tiger.

Not a physical entity, its body was outlined in dark golden Energy, its lines bold and imposing, radiating explosive power.

Most striking was the thick, golden glow flowing within its enormous skull.

[Molten Gold Battle Tiger (Phantom) - Level Cap: Lv25 - Talent: Molten Gold Eyes (enhances mental resistance/mental backlash)]

"A level cap of 25… higher than any other Beast Spirit. This creature must have been an apex predator in this land during its lifetime."

"Gaining its acknowledgment will probably be difficult, but I have to try!"

Han Ning focused his mind, extending an intangible tendril of consciousness toward the dark golden tiger's silhouette.

The moment his mental tendril made contact—

Whoosh—

A strange force of attraction surged from the tiger's form, instantly pulling his entire consciousness inside.

The vision abruptly changed.

No longer was there a rain-soaked ruin before his eyes, but a vast expanse of primeval forest.

Ancient towering trees blocked out the sky, and the air was thick with the scent of rotting leaves.

He had transformed into a golden-furred tiger cub.

"Who am I? Where am I?"

Han Ning's mind was in chaos, unable to recall anything.

Before he could think further—

Hunger... an intense hunger like a red-hot knife scraping his guts.

Just then, he spotted a limping wild rabbit crouching in the grass ahead.

He attempted to pounce on the rabbit.

The surrounding bushes rustled, and over a dozen large, towering wolves emerged.

Foul drool dripped onto his head, the putrid stench nearly suffocating him.

"ROAR!!" "HOWL!!"

He bared his milk teeth and growled, only to be met with fiercer snarls.

Claws dug deep furrows in the mud as a wolf's fangs pierced his shoulder blade. In a frenzy, he clamped his jaws around the wolf's throat, his mouth filling with scalding, metallic blood.
