A blonde's heavy, sharp breath burned out of her lungs as she ran through the dense forest. Her feet were sore from running, her skin pale, filled with healed and fresh wounds.

Ava turned around every two seconds, knowing pretty well that she was being chased. They've been hunting her for over two days now, ever since Theo collapsed and Cain had asked her to run.
Dozens of wolves had chased them for days. But at least now she was almost out of the Eastern territory. Whatever it was, Cain didn't keep to his promise about letting them go if Theo won the fight.
Ava scrambled through the woods, and her knees buckled for a second. She was too weak to keep moving. Without any food or water, she felt like she would pass out.
