Chapter 139 - Well-Deserved Shrek

"小三, what are you laughing at?"

Yu Xiaogang frowned.

He was in the middle of explaining to his disciple how he had discovered his dual martial souls back then—a point of pride for him! In fact, it was sheer luck that he had stumbled upon Tang San, a once-in-a-century dual martial soul talent, and accepted him as a disciple.

Tang San shook his head slowly. "Teacher, you're mistaken."

Yu Xiaogang froze, annoyed, and stared at Tang San. "Xiao San! I am your teacher! Everything I teach comes from my own experience. How could I be wrong?"

Tang San explained calmly, "Teacher, I think you've misunderstood me. The mistake I'm referring to isn't about the process you described—it's that your judgment that I have dual martial souls was wrong."

"What!"

Yu Xiaogang's eyes widened. Irritated, he asked, "Then tell me, Xiao San, where exactly did I go wrong?"

"Teacher, do you know where my dual martial souls came from?" Tang San asked.

"Well…"

Yu Xiaogang paused, thinking carefully. "The Heaven Hammer came from your father. As for the Blue Silver Grass, a seemingly weak martial soul, it shouldn't have been yours. That's why I concluded you had a second martial soul. That reasoning was solid—I couldn't have been wrong!"

Yu Xiaogang was confident in his judgment.

Unexpectedly, Tang San shook his head. Amid Yu Xiaogang's puzzled and annoyed gaze, he continued: "My Heaven Hammer inherited from my father, but the Blue Silver Grass came from my mother. Martial soul inheritance usually favors the stronger parent, and the birth of dual martial souls requires both parents' martial soul qualities to be equal, with only a tiny chance of occurring. So you see, my Blue Silver Grass is by no means a weak martial soul—it is on par with Heaven Hammer. On this point, teacher, you were indeed mistaken!"

Hearing his disciple explain so much about dual martial souls, Yu Xiaogang was completely stunned. These were blind spots he had never encountered in his life.

"I… I wasn't wrong!"

Yu Xiaogang muttered softly.

(I now know the secret of how dual martial souls are formed. My theory just got another proof. If Xiao San reveals how Blue Silver Grass evolves, I can finally clear my shame.)

With renewed hope, Yu Xiaogang eagerly said, "Xiao San, show me your new martial soul and explain in detail how you awakened it! Don't leave anything out!"

Seeing his teacher so eager, Tang San sighed internally. His father's orders had struck the mark: Yu Xiaogang desperately needed this knowledge to restore his pride.

"Xiao San, why are you hesitating? Speak up! Do you want to drive your teacher mad?" Yu Xiaogang urged.

"Sorry, teacher. The materials required to awaken my Blue Silver Grass have vanished. My Blue Silver Grass will remain as it is for life, and there is no way to awaken it." Tang San sighed.

Because of the Blue Silver King's unexpected death, Tang San's Blue Silver Bloodline could not awaken. Unless A-Yin reincarnates, there's no solution.

Yu Xiaogang was struck like a thunderbolt. The hope he had just kindled was dashed.

"Is that so? What a pity," Yu Xiaogang lamented.

"Teacher, if there's nothing else, I'll continue my cultivation."

After saying this, Tang San firmly closed the door.

"Tang Hao! Tang Hao! You've disappointed me so much! No diamond, don't try to handle porcelain. I planned to write a masterpiece on Xiao San's Blue Silver Grass evolution, but… well, it's fine. The secret of dual martial souls is no longer hidden. I will write it myself and wash away my humiliation!"

Yu Xiaogang, pushing his wheelchair away from Tang San's door, could not wait to record what Tang San had revealed about dual martial souls.

Click!

Suddenly, the door opened again.

"Teacher, I forgot to tell you. Before I returned, my father told me to keep the secret of dual martial souls safe. Even if I tell you, it cannot be disclosed, or he will come for you. Remember that!"

After Tang San spoke, the door shut firmly.

Yu Xiaogang froze in place for half a minute, stunned as if he were a rock.

Tang San's words shattered Yu Xiaogang's dream of reclaiming his pride.

Panicked, Yu Xiaogang hurried his wheelchair to Tang San's door.

Then he noticed a sign on the door:

"Cultivating, do not disturb!"

It had been hung by Tang San, on his father's instructions, to prevent Yu Xiaogang from nagging.

Ignoring the sign, Yu Xiaogang yanked it off and threw it on the ground.

"Xiao San, open the door! This is extremely important! My chance to redeem myself depends on it!"

"Xiao San, open the door! Tell me where Tang Hao is—I'll speak to him myself!"

"Xiao San!!!"

Yu Xiaogang kept knocking relentlessly.

Inside, Tang Hao frowned, watching Yu Xiaogang persist outside, utterly speechless.

Earlier, Yu Xiaogang's muttering had been heard clearly. That's why Tang San had to speak as he did.

If it weren't for the respect due to Tang San's father, Tang Hao would have already dealt with Yu Xiaogang!

"Father, isn't this too harsh on my teacher?" Tang San asked, feeling pity for him.

"Harsh?"

Tang Hao smiled. "Did Yu Xiaogang push Xiao Wu onto the Dead Fight Arena unfairly? Xiao Wu is your sister, and I've always seen how you care for her. That day, if March East had killed Xiao Wu in the arena, how would Yu Xiaogang face you? And how would you face him?"

Tang San was shocked. He calmed himself, shutting his eyes and began cultivating, no longer disturbed by Yu Xiaogang's knocking.

At sunset, Yu Xiaogang slumped in his wheelchair, eyes rolled back, breathing heavily, tongue out, hands swollen and bleeding.

"Tang Hao… I must see Tang Hao…"

He repeated this over and over, dissatisfied with Tang Hao's arrangement, wanting to face him personally to argue!

Even until the High-Level Soul Master Elite Competition began, Yu Xiaogang couldn't meet Tang Hao.

Without Tang Hao's approval, Yu Xiaogang couldn't reveal the secret of dual martial souls, for Tang Hao would come for him.

Yu Xiaogang's fate… could be compared to Shrek Academy's Flandre or Zhao Wuji.

In these six months, Yu Xiaogang's reputation began to rot, growing ever worse.

Somehow, the story of him pushing Xiao Wu onto the Dead Fight Arena leaked, and the once-forgotten name was mentioned again.

Being expelled from the Blue Electric Tyrannosaur Clan, plotting against children, encouraging students onto the deadly arena just for his own disciple's revenge, disregarding their lives—these crimes were enough to place Yu Xiaogang on a pillar of shame, reviled by all!

Yet Yu Xiaogang didn't care. Surrounded by scorn, he was used to it.

Meanwhile, in Tiandou City…

Every household was festooned with lanterns. The streets were bustling—it was the day of the High-Level Soul Master Elite Competition. Crowds surged; the streets were packed.

Teams from Tiandou gathered for preliminary rounds, competing for the top five spots. Winners would then face one-on-one eliminations to determine who would represent Tiandou in the final competition at the Martial Soul Hall.

The Tiandou Grand Arena, located in Tiandou City, had been expanded for the event.

"Half a year has passed. The competition is finally underway. It's time to show our skills," Zhu Zhuqing said eagerly.

She sat with Zhou Sidong in a teahouse, overlooking the street where teams would pass, under everyone's gaze.

"Zhuqing, pay attention to Shrek Academy," Zhou Sidong said with a smile.

"Why? I get angry just seeing them!" Zhu Zhuqing frowned.

"You'll see soon enough," Zhou Sidong replied mysteriously.

Shrek Academy's uniforms were notorious.

At that moment, a group in bright red uniforms passed, including a striking girl.

"That's Chihuo Academy," Zhu Zhuqing recognized immediately.

Next came girls in blue uniforms, graceful and lively.

"Tianshui Academy," she said.

"Why look at me?" Zhou Sidong asked.

"They're all girls, Zhou Sidong. Don't you feel tempted?"

He laughed, hugging Zhu Zhuqing.

"You're enough," he whispered, smelling her fragrance.

"Die," she laughed, turning back to watch the incoming teams.

Then came teams in colorful uniforms from other famous academies.

"Zhuqing, avoid this one," Zhou Sidong pointed to a red-uniformed team led by an elderly man.

"Who's he?"

"Canmeng Shinian. His Martial Soul 'Lingering Dream' tortures Soul Masters to death in dreams," Zhou Sidong explained.

Next, the Shrek Academy team arrived in their shrek-green uniforms.

Leading was Flandre, followed by Liu Erlong pushing Yu Xiaogang in a wheelchair, with Qin Ming and others behind.

At the end, the rest of Shrek, in shrek-green uniforms plastered with ads, slowly followed. Passersby laughed at this odd team.

"Shrek Academy? Hahaha!!!"

"Shit-green uniforms and toilet ads on their backs? Perfect match. Jumped straight out of the pit!"

Dai Mubai quickened his pace, but Flandre walked slowly, waving to the crowd, enjoying the attention.

"Flandre's taste… unbearable," Ning Rongrong muttered, hiding her head low, disappointed with her shrek-green uniform. Others nodded in agreement.

Among Shrek Academy's lineup were three new members:

Jiang Zhu, green-skirted girl, replacing the deceased Talon.

Huang Yuan and Jing Ling, substitutes for the competition.

The teahouse observers, Zhou Sidong and Zhu Zhuqing, watched and laughed at the odd uniforms.

"I guessed right—it's Flandre's design," Zhu Zhuqing said.

"How do you know?"

"Only Flandre would do this. All ads plastered on the uniform? He got sponsorships and planned to make money during the competition. He's still greedy!"

Zhou Sidong agreed silently.

On the way to Tiandou Grand Arena, Shrek Academy was halfway through the streets.

Someone shouted, "Isn't that the useless one expelled from the Blue Electric Tyrannosaur Clan?"

Yu Xiaogang flared with anger, urging Liu Erlong to move faster.

"Flandre! Move!"

Liu Erlong pushed the wheelchair, while Flandre ignored them, waving to the crowd, enjoying the spotlight.

"Who is Yu Xiaogang?" someone asked.

"That's the Level 29 trash!"

"The one who cursed the Blue Electric Tyrannosaur Clan and pushed students onto the Dead Fight Arena!"

"That vile person should die!"

The shouts made Yu Xiaogang gnash his teeth in panic.

Liu Erlong, seeing the crowd approaching, clenched the wheelchair and pushed Flandre out of the way. The Shrek team, slow behind, didn't notice and stepped over him, rushing to the arena.

Flandre was left on the ground, full of footprints and even two wheel marks, twitching.
