Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Fortune-Telling Stand

Her retorts were incredibly fast, almost as if a comment would float by, and she'd immediately catch the next one.

The audience got enraged, and the hostility in the comments was so intense that the system had to pop up a reminder.

[Friendly Reminder: Players need to rely on audience points and rewards to acquire certain items needed later in the game. Please interact with your audience carefully to maintain a good atmosphere.]

Josh closed the reminder without even looking and continued bickering with the audience.

Comments: [Aaaaaah! I want to kill her!!]

[Is there anyone to control this newcomer?!]

[Boohoo, I'm going back to tell my mom!]

[I can't outargue her, just can't.]

[Keep telling myself, I'm not angry, I'm not angry. Being angry causes wrinkles, being angry isn't pretty.]

Inside the dimension.

Josh couldn't help but snicker as she closed the attribute panel: "A bunch of losers."

Susanna saw her sitting there talking to herself and walked over: "Josh, what're you doing?"

Josh glanced at her absentmindedly: "I'm educating my internet offspring, is there something you need?"

Comments: [Get lost, dad!]

A hint of surprise flashed in Susanna's eyes, but she ignored her words and sat affectionately beside her: "Josh, how did you find the monster's location before? Everyone wants to find the three pieces of equipment quickly and leave the dimension."

Josh looked at her and suddenly had a new idea: "You want to know?"

Susanna's eyes lit up: "Of course I do!"

Josh curled her lips: "By fortune telling."

"Huh?" Susanna was momentarily dazed: "Fortune telling what?"

In the Federation World, ancient metaphysics had long gone extinct.

People revered advanced high-tech, cold intelligent machine armor, and powerful spiritual power, with the only faith being in the Seven Great Guardians of the Main Star.

The other sects' ghost and god stories had disappeared with the demise of Blue Star.

Josh looked at her, smiling: "Want to know where the monsters with equipment are?"

Susanna nodded quickly: "Of course I do!"

She didn't want to stay in this eerie place for one more moment than necessary.

Josh held up three fingers, her expression sincere and gentle: "3000 points for a fortune, guaranteed. If it doesn't work, no charge."

"3000 points?!" Susanna's eyes widened in disbelief: "You've gone mad for points, haven't you?"

Josh's gaze grew more earnest: "Don't you want to advance and leave quickly? Spots are limited, sis."

Susanna: "..."

For some reason, she felt a chill down her spine.

She hesitated a bit: "Of course I want to leave."

Josh: "Exactly, every dimension you can earn points, and as we grow stronger, we'll definitely earn more. But now, if we can't even survive, how do we advance?"

"This..." Susanna felt something was off.

Josh looked at her in confusion: "A mere 3000 points, can it really compare to advancing?"

The sincerity in her puzzled gaze led Susanna to doubt herself indeed.

Josh sighed softly: "There're only so many pieces of equipment for advancement. If others get there first, we might not have a chance to advance."

Susanna suddenly realized.

Yes!

The rules of the game did limit the number of people who could advance!

15 people, but only 10 could advance.

Now 3 were dead, leaving 12.

The equipment only allowed for 10 to advance, so the last two couldn't advance.

Susanna, mustering her last bit of sanity, hesitantly looked at her: "We're the closest in this dimension, why don't you just help me find the equipment? Isn't it too impersonal to talk about points between us?"

She bit her lip, assuming the usual fragile flower guise she maintained in the Augustine family: "You know, you're a newcomer, and so am I, I don't actually have many points..."

That was impossible.

Her father, mother, and brother had already prepared an army of fake supporters to back her up before she even entered the dimension.

With her exquisite and noble appearance and weak character, she had garnered many fans and earned quite a few points.

Josh looked at her as if she were a little idiot: "I need points to divine, if I didn't lack points, I'd divine for myself and find the equipment so I could leave earlier, why would I stay here so long?"

A flash of understanding crossed Susanna's eyes. So it was points that allowed her to find monsters.

Could it be her store had unlocked some item?

If that was the case, she could indeed use her hand to advance.

Susanna looked troubled at Josh: "I really want to advance, but I don't have that many points..."

It'd be best if she could coax Josh into providing points for her advancement!

Josh shrugged: "Then I can't help you."

She jumped onto the shoulder of a nearby large creature and beckoned to the small black dog on the ground: "Come on, Little Black, let's go!"

The SSS-level monster was still quite intimidating when it moved.

Everyone watched Josh cautiously.

Josh gave them a slight smile: "Open for fortune telling, divination for monster locations, weak spots, treasure locations, dimension feng shui, monster physiognomy, 3000 points per reading, scan code to pay, thanks!"

Comments: "Crazy! 3000 points, which fool would go?! Fraudster scamming people!"

Contestant: "Me me me me! I want a reading I want a reading!"

"I was here first!"

"No cutting in line!"

Comments: "..."

All the wealthier point holders approached.

They didn't mind the cost and wanted to advance.

Susanna: "...?"

Are they insane?

Josh smiled as she looked at them: "Please queue up, one at a time."

She opened her attribute panel and brought up the QR code.

The first in line was a spoiled, proud young lady, clearly not short on money, yet hadn't obtained any equipment.

She immediately scanned 9000 points: "I'll have three readings!"

Others: "!!"

She just secured a spot to advance!

Josh received the points, a smile on her face: "Alright~"

She casually picked two leaves nearby, throwing them in her hand thrice.

Though they couldn't understand, she had indeed used this technique to trigger monsters before Fuer's animal act appeared.

Josh whispered three location points into the young lady's ear.

Not sure which family she belonged to, but she had bodyguards with her.

She took her bodyguards to the locations and indeed triggered three monsters, obtained the equipment, and successfully advanced.

Seeing this, everyone was in a tizzy, not willing to queue anymore and started crowding forward.

"Me me me! I want a reading! I want a reading!"

"Do mine first!"

"I was here first! You cut in front of me, are you looking for trouble!"

"If you want to be tough, be tough, no one cares who you are here!"
