Chapter 6 - PART 6 : The soul of emptiness

A restless night fell upon the Sun Kingdom after two events that threw everyone into panic and terror. The palace hall overflowed with evacuees seeking safety.

A five-year-old child… who suddenly aged into a seven-year-old due to the intense battle between Elevanour and Zelga.

Yet his soul remained that of a five-year-old.

His innocent face looked around, eyes red and swollen after crying over the loss of his mother.

He kept walking with his fragile little legs—until he bumped into someone.

"Thud—!"

"Ehhh… What's a little kid doing alone during an evacuation like this?"

The child fell backward, startled.

His vision was blurry when he looked up at the adult he had run into.

"Oh dear, what should I do so you don't start crying?" the man asked.

The little boy shook his head, his short wavy hair swaying lightly.

Slowly his blurry eyesight cleared, revealing a man with long hair tied up in a style reminiscent of ancient China.

He wore a white hanfu robe trimmed with gold — like a young Chinese warrior. The cloth flowed with every motion. The symbol of the Dragon of Peace was engraved on its back.

The man looked even more confused.

The boy just stared in complete silence, like one of the statues he kept at home.

He slapped his forehead.

"Oh man…"

Without hesitation he lifted the child into his arms. He walked toward the packed refugee zone guarded by the defense forces, while speaking to the boy:

"Do you not recognize me?"

The child stayed silent, wiping his fragile eyes.

"Oi, answer me." The man grew more frustrated.

The boy nodded.

He squinted, then softened his face.

"Ahem. I am YinYang. I may not be famous… but I will save you today."

The boy's eyes lit up. He smiled and laughed — his legs kicking wildly.

YinYang instantly sensed something strange…

The boy's body was no longer that of a toddler, yet his behavior remained pure and childish.

As they pushed through the crowded evacuation route, a voice cut through the noise — someone shouting desperately. YinYang froze, his ears twitching.

"WHERE IS MY CHILD?!! You still haven't found him?!"

A mother cried and yelled at the soldiers.

"We're sorry. We've searched everywhere and contacted all checkpoints. Could you describe him again?"

the soldier tried calming her.

Suddenly—

"Yo, is this your kid?" YinYang appeared out of nowhere, instantly shifting everyone's attention.

The mother stared, hesitating for a split second…

"AHHH! THAT'S MY SON!!"

Her eyes sparkled with relief as she shoved past the soldiers and sprinted toward him.

She hugged her child as if she had regained her whole world.

"Oh my goodness… Sunjhin!! Where have you been?!"

But then, soldiers turned their attention to YinYang.

"Tuan, you shouldn't be here! If the Emperor finds out, your sentence will only get longer!" one scolded, gripping his metal staff.

YinYang exhaled sharply.

"They will collapse if I stay silent like before," he said firmly, worry filling his eyes.

"But this is—"

A black horse galloped in.

YinYang immediately turned his face away, clearly not wanting to see who arrived.

"Well, well… YinYang sneaking around while being punished again?"

The rider spoke with a stern tone.

He wore a thick blue mantle, his tanned face sharp and serious — long hair, a thin beard.

The soldiers instantly kneeled, showing respect to the General.

"What are you doing here, YinYang?! The Emperor ordered you to stay put and reflect! Not show off your power!"

YinYang kept avoiding his gaze.

"Why?! Are you all just using my mind for your own filthy satisfaction?!"

"Ugh!"

Without warning, the man grabbed YinYang by his clothes and lifted him up.

"Your father only wants your obedience. Not rebellion!"

"ANSWER YOUR FATHER, YOU UNGRATEFUL BOY!!!"

YinYang stayed silent — completely limp in his grip.

But the father's expression suddenly shifted, puzzled…

YinYang felt lighter in his arms.

He pulled him closer—

Only to see that YinYang had escaped.

The General clenched his fists, fury swallowing him whole.

"GRRR! YOU! FIND YINYANG RIGHT NOW!! HE'S ESCAPING!!"

"Yes sir!!"

Soldiers rushed in every direction, alerting all guards.

"That brat…" he growled, riding off again.

A cold breeze swept the very top of the Imperial Palace —

A place witnessing the real meaning of truth and courage.

YinYang had fled to the highest rooftop.

He stared into the night…

Confused why he must experience all this suffering.

Down below — families finding peace in each other: happiness, laughter, warm embraces…

While he embraced only the coldness of existence.

The scene reminded him of his mother —

The only one standing by his side when the world crushed his fragile soul.

"Life… I think fairness or unfairness… none of that truly exists. It's all just… perspective and feeling.

I don't know anymore…"

His sorrow deepened as he stared at the bright lights below — lives unbroken.

Then…

A soft breeze brushed against his ear.

"Swoosh…"

"What if your mother doesn't miss you?"

A whisper.

YinYang's eyes widened — high alert — and he slowly turned back.

He spoke, voice shaking with vulnerability and bubbling anger:

"What do you know… about human life… rebellious god?!"

Chronos was surprised. YinYang recognized him —

the traitor god.

He feigned innocence.

"Ehhh~ So you found me out."

His tone soft and playful.

He stepped forward.

"So…"

YinYang immediately took a ready stance.

But—

"What if you fall down there?"

Chronos asked.

Suddenly — YinYang felt his entire perception twist.

His eyes shut — and when he opened them—

CRASH!

He was smashed through roof after roof — down into the palace below.

"And… what if you never fell at all?"

ZEP!

Chronos restored the moment — reversing time — as if nothing had happened.

He smirked, fully confident in his ability to control YinYang's existence.

"What if… I was the one who threw you down?"

But—

YinYang appeared behind him — impossibly fast.

Fwoooo~

Using his flute — he SLAMMED Chronos down with sheer elegance and force.

FWOOSH!!

The palace roof shattered like brittle stone.

"Wh-what…?"

Chronos gasped — eyes wide in disbelief.

Meanwhile — citizens were being taught about proper evacuation routes to prevent further casualties.

They heard a flute melody nearby…

Coming from the battle between YinYang and Chronos.

At first — it sounded peaceful.

But YinYang's father recognized it instantly.

"That's YinYang!"

"MOVE!"

He commanded his troops — horses thundered across the ground.

The citizens turned confused, but the medics urged them back to focus.

"Oi! It's just someone playing a flute!"

Not for long—

SWOSHRKRKRK— THUUMMM!!!

HALF OF THE PALACE COLLAPSED —

Chronos smashed violently into the ground!

A raging wind exploded outward —

debris flying everywhere, dust covering the kingdom.

YinYang descended from the sky.

He stared at the massive destruction he caused — guilt and fear twisting inside him.

"What have I done…?"

he whispered.

His spirit cracked like soft clay — fragile, exhausted.

As he walked through the chaos…

He noticed a silhouette — strangely familiar.

It drew him closer —

And then—

YinYang dropped to his knees.

His heart shattered.

"Why must I always witness things like this… right in front of me…?"

His father.

The General.

The man who showed him no affection—

Now skewered by a massive, horrifying spear.

YinYang didn't know why —

His father never cared for him.

But he still…

…forgave him.

And now — he wanted vengeance.

GHHHRRRGHH!!

Stones around him levitated —

His aura flaring violently.

His eyes sharpened — a raging storm within.

"I… I will never forgive anyone again."

His power ignited —

sensing who could have done this.

His gaze snapped toward the west —

nothing could block the fury burning in his eyes.

"If everyone dies because of me…

What difference is there from my father and mother's sacrifice…

…if it only leaves me alive, worthless…

incapable of happiness?"
