"Knock, knock," the door of the private room was tapped several times, and Simon Sutton ran several streets to buy medicine.
Jared Quinn gently moved Melody Thorne aside to get the medicine, holding the comforting ice pack he was about to leave, Melody made a dissatisfied hum and hugged him tighter, afraid he would leave.
Jared's body was tense, especially snuggled up against her soft form, it was an utter torment for him, and more importantly, she relied on him so much.
If she were awake, she would probably make a fuss again.
"Knock, knock," Simon knocked on the door again,
glancing around warily, knowing that if anyone saw a man entering Melody's room at this time, it would certainly cause a big stir.
But inside, the door remained closed.
"Let go, I'll be right back," Jared rarely revealed such a gentle tone.
Melody seemed not to hear, continuing to cling to him.
Helpless, Jared could only carry her, wrapped in the quilt, towards the door.
