After carefully placing their bicycles in the yard, Leo and Lan, who had just entered the house, were a little confused and surprised to see their parents hugging each other with sad, tearful faces while in front of them were chips of cassava that had been sprinkled with seasoning but had not yet been neatly packaged.

Hearing Leo's loud, worried voice, not only Lura and Laus were startled and snapped out of their despair, but Lano, who was sound asleep in his room, also woke up with a start, as did Liona, who immediately snapped out of her deep reverie.
