Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: He Won't Let Her Die!

In the evening, on the muddy ground in the suburbs, a long-haired woman wearing a beige sweater lay there, covered in blood, with most of the beige sweater stained red with blood.

The beautiful, captivating face was already devoid of any color.

In front of her, a woman with exquisite makeup stood there, looking arrogantly at the woman lying in the mud.

"Summer Shawcross, aren't you very good at seducing men? I want to see, without that face, who else is willing to look at you!" The woman laughed wildly and took out a sharp dagger.

When the cold dagger cut the skin on her face, Summer Shawcross felt a heart-wrenching pain, and the cold rain fell on the wounds, causing her entire body to tremble violently.

"Does it hurt? It's good if it hurts. Summer Shawcross, you know, I just love seeing you in pain!" The woman laughed excitedly.

"Even as a ghost, I won't let you off!" Summer gritted her teeth and used the last bit of her strength to speak fiercely.

She was too foolish, blinded by hatred, single-mindedly seeking revenge, mistakenly trusting this pair of scumbags, and ultimately they caused the destruction of her family, leaving her to be humiliated even as she was dying.

Unfortunately, it was only then that she saw their true colors.

If she could become a ghost, she would definitely seek vengeance on this pair of scumbags!

Thinking of this, Summer's eyes were filled with hatred as she looked at the man in the silver-gray suit who had been standing silently behind the woman.

...

The heavy rain continued to fall, and a convoy sped through the torrential rain into the desolate suburbs.

A sudden brake, and the leading black sedan came to an abrupt halt.

Before the car had fully stopped, the door was suddenly flung open.

With a bang, a tall figure was forcibly thrown out from the back seat of the car.

Despite the somewhat embarrassing situation, the man's powerful presence remained undiminished. He paid no attention to the mud on him, instead watching intently at the figure not far away.

When his gaze fell upon the thin figure in the mud, the handsome face turned deathly pale!

"Boss, are you alright?" The bodyguard reached out supportively.

"Get lost!" The man shoved the bodyguard away with disgust, ignoring the dirt and mud, quickly propping up himself with a cane, walking quickly towards the figure lying in the mud.

When he finally reached her side, the man discarded the cane.

With a thud, he fell right beside her, his handsome face full of pain.

"Summer Shawcross, you are not allowed to die, open your eyes for me!"

The domineering voice resounded as he suddenly extended his hands, pulling her dirty self into his arms, letting the blood on her face stain his white shirt.

Not allowed to die!

He would not allow her to die!

As the once-despised domineering voice sounded again, Summer slowly opened her eyes and saw that still incomparably handsome face.

Except... in just a few days, he had grown much more world-weary.

The man in her memories, always so imposing, now seemed to have aged many years.

"Summer Shawcross, do you think you can escape me by dying? Even if you turn into a ghost, I won't let you go!" The man lowered his gaze at her, a handsome, cold face consumed with endless rage!

Even though she's done many willful things in her life, he had never truly blamed her!

But the one thing he couldn't allow was her to leave him forever.

Hearing the man's words, Summer felt a wave of bitterness in her heart.

She always thought that the death of her parents was his doing, and so... she hated him for so many years and hurt him for so many years.

Her life seemed to be a mistake.

Feeling her strength slowly being drained away, Summer no longer had the energy to say anything more, but she struggled to look at him one more time. The person who treated her best in this world was actually... the one she used to hate the most.

She wanted so much to say sorry to him, but... now she could no longer speak.

She laboriously lifted her hand, and after a long time... finally touched the man's face.

Her sudden movement, along with the gentle gaze on her otherwise horrible face, caused the man's body to freeze.

Summer managed a smile... less than two seconds later, she couldn't hold on any longer, and her hand fell.

——Bang!

At that moment, a loud bang suddenly sounded, and the man's warm blood fell onto her face.

Summer widened her eyes in shock... but the man reached out, touching her scarred, once-unrecognizable face, his deep eyes filled with affection... a normally stern and cold face broke into a gentle smile.

"I said, even if you die, don't think you can escape me..." He lowered his head, placing a kiss on her disfigured face.

With those words, he held her and fell together into the mud.

Summer slowly closed her eyes, listening as his heartbeat weakened along with hers... until it disappeared.

——Noah Drexler, if there is a next life, I will definitely try hard to love you.

She silently vowed, but it was too late for everything.

...

Limp limbs felt bound by something, unable to move, tingling with pain, as if death didn't strip away all sensations.

The strong presence of a man left her breathless, almost suffocating.

"Uh..." Her lips were sealed, causing an involuntary sound in her throat, as the familiar scent and touch filled her nose and spread between her teeth…

Just as she was about to open her eyes, a cold yet sharp voice resonated by her ear.

"No more pretending to be dead?"

The moment the man's words fell, Summer's body trembled slightly…

As she looked at the man in utter shock, his voice, tinged with indomitable anger, suddenly echoed again.

"Summer Shawcross, you've really grown bold, daring to drug me?!" With slender fingers, he forcefully pinched her chin, pushing her to face those cold eyes.

On his handsome face, the expression was like frost.

It seemed he had been too indulgent with her! Before the wedding, she dared to drug him to escape, and the dosage wasn't mild, making him sleep for an entire day!

Amidst the man's anger, lying beneath him, Summer's face showed only shock and disbelief.

She widened her eyes, carefully examining the man who was holding her down.

The man possessed an incredibly handsome face, yet his ink-black eyes were full of coldness and sharpness…

And that overbearing, unreasonable tone and voice—it could be no one but Noah Drexler…

Gazing at the man's unparalleled handsome face, Summer's eyes suddenly reddened.
