Chapter 35 - Chapter 33

UNKNOWN

Todo es impredecible

"One month before,

Day of the massacre

~Put me on speaker.

I waited for these idiots to be ready, everything went perfectly, even with a double reward—undoubtedly the best move so far, I'm just one step ahead of that insignificant bitch.

~It's on speaker, sir.

~Vladi Hildebrandt, you would've been better off anywhere else but "Switzerland." —I pause— How do you like the welcome my country has given you?

~I swear you're going to pay for this. —This one says my name at the end— I laugh out loud at his threat.

~Too bad, I don't think that will be possible. —I can almost picture his disgusting face full of hatred— I need you to leave a message for Ibagon, though she definitely won't find you alive when she arrives.

~You're sick, asshole. —he yells, and I have to pull the phone a little away from my ear so I don't go deaf.

~I'd say I'm doing you a favor, my friend, giving you a less painful death than the one she undoubtedly planned. —He keeps shouting curses and all kinds of threats— Have a good rest, you were one of my best allies... just screwed up by coming here. —I hang up."

A month ago, everything was perfect. Vladi was undoubtedly collateral damage, in the wrong place at the wrong time; the real target was Ibagon, that nuisance. But not everything goes as planned, things happened unpredictably. Demir was just the bait, he fell because of those bastards' incompetence. I sigh, still looking on the bright side: she's at a new point in her life, I expected a new move, not seeing her in a depressive mode 'because I thought she was a worthy rival.'

The sound of footsteps grabs my attention. I keep my gaze straight ahead, then glance sideways at her silhouette.

—Just spit out whatever you have to say. —Her voice sounds colder than ever.

—Are you still mad about Osoclu? Were you screwing him?

—Don't be nosy, Ziegler. Besides, you know very well that even if his presence annoyed me, the idea was never to go all out on him.

—Yeah, but you can't deny everything went wrong. Now we know Nefertary Ibagon is just a girl with mild disorders, a disappointment to the family.

—I wouldn't be so sure, ehh, who knows how she'll react when she gets out of that trance.

—I've thought about that, that's why I called you here.

—Then speak. —I stop looking at the east side of that cliff.

—Michael Lorenz. —She laughs.

—That guy means nothing to her, you'd be doing her a favor.

—That's the point. The police are already on his tail; she'd just end up confirming that, and for that, she'd have to be distracted.

—That won't take a week, though in her current state it might take a little longer. —She looks at me, clearly doubting what I want to do— What's the point? —This time I'm the one looking forward, breaking eye contact.

—Now it's Ludwig's turn to help us, if he's not on your "little sister's" side.

—It's all fake, the creation ended up surpassing its creator.

—That's dangerous too. Are you sure he's with us?

—Completely, he's proven it. —I laugh at how pathetic that sounded.

—Proven? How?... In bed? —I turn to look at her; she has a serious expression, though crimson flushes her cheeks— Quite the proof.

—He's also given us valuable information, or how else do you think we've kept the advantage?

—Ziegler, whatever you do with that kid, I don't care. I just want to finish your sister, who's been a nuisance since that idiot Ibagon died.

—Sure. —sarcastic— Just her, maybe her mother too.

—You're putting on a show. Let me remind you it was you who didn't want to mix things anymore. —I emphasize the last three words.

—As if that's mattered to you these last few days, Ziegler. —She rolls her eyes, driving me crazy with that simple gesture.

I step closer, and she backs up, cornered against a tree. My eyes drift to her lips, but I hold back; she parts them slightly, torturing me more.

—You always are. —I say her name— You know where to find me, you know I'll always be available to you, as long as, darling, you let me have my cock between your legs.

I was about to kiss her when she gave me a small push to make me step back, which she succeeded in doing.

—Let's not get sidetracked. If that's all, I'll keep you informed. —With that, she leaves.

Always playing hard to get. I swear you'll be at my feet needing me every second, like all the others, but first I'll finish Nefertary, also making sure to eliminate Ludwig, so I won't have any more rubble in my way to have control over everything.
