Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: We Meet Again

The Lynch Family's banquet was held at their estate in The Aethelgard Suburbs.

Today is Old Master Lynch's sixtieth birthday. Since the Lynch Family abandoned politics for business, they mingle with bigwigs from both worlds, far surpassing the Grant Family.

At the gate of the estate, a Bentley stopped, the door opened, and a man in a suit got out. He raised his hand to straighten his tie, as the driver opened the car door, a girl about seventeen or eighteen years old stepped out from the back.

"Dad," the girl sweetly called out, elegantly hooking her arm through the man's.

Behind the Bentley, an inconspicuous taxi pulled up.

A boy got out casually, took his change from the driver through the window, and the taxi made a U-turn and left.

The boy glanced up and saw the father and daughter ahead.

There were some business ties between the Grant Family and the Lynch Family, so now, as the head of The Grant Family, Miles Grant brought along his only daughter Felicity Grant to celebrate the birthday.

The boy following behind was South Grant. Normally, when there were such social engagements for The Grant Family, no one would inform her.

She now bears the title of the eldest grandchild of The Grant Family. After Ian Grant passed away, the family's shares and company were supposed to be managed by Ian Grant's eldest son.

However, the second child, Miles Grant, used the excuse that South Grant was still young to take control of The Grant Family for several years.

Miles Grant was most afraid of seeing South Grant go out socializing and building her own network, so no one from The Grant Family ever informed South Grant about occasions like this.

As South Grant got out of the car, Felicity Grant shot her father a look.

"Dad, South is here."

Seeing South Grant arrive at the estate gates, Miles Grant's face darkened.

"South, with college entrance exams right around the corner, why aren't you home studying? What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to celebrate Old Master Lynch's birthday, of course." South Grant casually glanced at the banquet center, hands in pockets, displaying a lazy and rebellious charm with a mischievous smile, captivating yet unsettling.

Miles Grant had always disapproved of South Grant but could only maintain a facade of being a stern elder in front of outsiders.

"Your primary goal now is to improve your grades. Don't think that because you're a Grant, you can sit back and do nothing. If you're lazy and unskilled, how can I trust you to take over the company?"

To South Grant, Miles Grant's words were simply ironic; no one wished for her to be more unaccomplished than Miles Grant did.

"Uncle, if I become excellent, won't that make you even more uneasy?" South Grant said before attempting to head inside.

Miles Grant was taken aback by her words, then showed signs of anger.

"Hold it!" Felicity Grant shouted from behind, walking up to South Grant, furrowing her brows and lowering her voice sternly, "The Lynch Family's banquet is invitation-only. You're behaving rudely, go back. Spare our family from embarrassment."

South Grant couldn't care less; she had a crush on Chester Lynch, the Lynch Family's eldest son.

But Chester Lynch always treated her as a friend and didn't know her identity. They had an agreement, and he told her to just show up.

As South Grant moved, Felicity Grant called out to the estate security guard, "Hey, this person doesn't have an invitation, are you letting her in?"

Subsequently, South Grant was stopped by security, asked to show an invitation.

At this time, Felicity Grant looked at South Grant, raised her eyebrows slightly, her face showing a proud and satisfied expression, she said confidently:

"South Grant, remember when you were publicly reprimanded at school last time? Grandpa punished you by forbidding you from going out, did you forget?"

Felicity Grant whispered smugly in South Grant's ear, but she found South Grant seemed not to be listening.

Only to see South Grant holding her phone, trying to call Chester Lynch, but was unable to get through.

Felicity Grant burst out laughing, "You'll never get past the Lynch Family's gate, just give it up."

At that moment, South Grant put down her phone and turned to look at Felicity Grant.

Felicity Grant tucked her hair behind her ear, looking at South Grant with eyes full of disdain.

"Looking at me is useless. I won't take you in and disgrace our Grant Family."

South Grant walked towards Felicity Grant, who thought South Grant was enraged, scared enough to back away two steps, retreating to Miles Grant's front.

Who knew South Grant wouldn't even spare her a glance, directly bypassing her, walking toward a military Hummer that had just pulled up at the entrance.

South Grant knocked on the window, and as it rolled down, a man appeared in everyone's sight.

His features were distinct and profound, with chiseled features akin to a sculptor's masterpiece.

His eyes were dark and deep, like an abyss, with an innate coldness.

Such as he was, his entire being exuded an overwhelming regal presence.

Upon seeing him, South Grant's eyebrows lifted slightly, her lips spreading into a smile.

"Hello, we meet again."
