She wasn't the type to pry into people's affairs. Noticing that Chi Yu was wearing slippers and his clothes were soft and casual, not the black outfit from last night, it seemed he had never left home at all.
Guess she was wrong.
So why did he ignore the landlady when she knocked?
It was quite a coincidence, though, that right after the landlady left, he came downstairs, making it seem like he was intentionally avoiding her. Yao Tao thought about this but didn't delve deeper.
Yao Tao coughed lightly and tentatively asked him, "You haven't gone out yet today, have you?"
He didn't respond to her.
Yao Tao continued, "Did you sleep too deeply this morning and not hear the knocking? Our landlady knocked on your door earlier, but there was no response, so she thought you had gone out."
As she spoke, Yao Tao watched for his reaction.
But there was nothing. He was handsome indeed, but too aloof.
