Slowly opening her eyes, she saw Xiang Qichen's handsome sleeping face, and Zhou Huaiyi's thoughts were momentarily hazy. She only then realized that he seemed to have come back very late last night.
Leaning in to give him a gentle kiss, Zhou Huaiyi carefully moved the hand resting on her waist. Just as she lifted it slightly, he tightened his grip.
"What time is it?" a deep, vague voice asked.
Hearing the voice, Zhou Huaiyi turned her head. He was lying on the pillow, eyes still closed, motionless as if he hadn't said a word.
"A little past seven." Zhou Huaiyi replied, "I need to go to work."
Xiang Qichen slightly moved his eyebrows, groggily leaning over to kiss her lips silently, then pinched her gently and softly instructed, "Be careful on the road."
At noon, Xiang Qichen came to pick her up for lunch.
Zhou Huaiyi hung up the phone in a daze, somewhat surprised. After saying goodbye to Yu Fu, she grabbed her keys and wallet and hurried downstairs.
