Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Deep and Gentle

Sienna Thornton always gets things done swiftly. No sooner had she decided to visit Simon Forrester's home than she selected a bottle of the finest vintage red wine from Maeve's wine cabinet, intending to make a good impression on Simon.

The two of them drove to Simon Forrester's residential area.

Sienna Thornton went straight there after work, still dressed in her daytime attire— a white fitted shirt and a black high-waisted knee-length skirt.

The color scheme was very serious, yet the style cunningly accentuated the best features of her figure.

Maeve, observing the alluring body wrapped in a somber business suit, warned, "Be very careful. If anything seems wrong, call me immediately."

Sienna glanced in the direction of Simon's apartment and then at her watch, casually saying, "If I don't come down by nine-thirty, contact the apartment management office and request a rescue."

Maeve looked at her with evident concern but didn't object.

Sienna got out of the car with the red wine in hand.

She used the door card to smoothly enter the courtyard, and the elevator transported her directly to Simon Forrester's doorstep.

After pressing the doorbell, she clutched the door card, lowered her gaze, and waited.

In just a moment, the door opened.

A pair of gray cotton slippers appeared in view, followed by black cotton sweatpants.

He was wearing clothes.

Sienna's heart eased a bit.

"Lawyer Thornton?" A cool male voice came from above her head.

Sienna looked up at Simon Forrester, her face breaking into a generous smile, revealing a neat row of delicate teeth.

Her eyes curved charmingly, not as sharp as during the day, but somewhat adorably playful.

"Good evening, Director Forrester."

Simon Forrester said nothing, standing there with his arms crossed.

His gaze was the usual cold and distant.

He stood in the center of the doorway, seemingly not intending to invite Sienna inside.

"I've come to return the door card," Sienna's slender, delicate hands held out a black magnetic card. "I was in such a rush last time when I brought Misha over, I didn't have time to return it to you."

Simon Forrester's gaze lazily drifted to the door card in her hand but didn't reach out to take it, merely said indifferently, "Return it to Partner Reed for me."

"Alright."

"Take care."

Seeing him speak to send her away, Sienna didn't get angry. She smiled and raised the red wine in her hand, "Director Forrester, I'd like to give you a nice bottle of red wine."

Simon Forrester remained motionless, still looking at her with his arms folded, his eyes gaining a hint of amusement.

He knew what he wanted, and Sienna understood very well.

She didn't urgently explain but instead quietly looked at him for a moment, then softly said, "What conditions would you need to help us design the guesthouse, Director Forrester?"

"I'll seriously consider any project with a target amount exceeding 10 billion."

"..."

Anyone not blind could certainly see that she didn't have such a project; talking about a "10 billion project," wasn't that intentionally making things difficult?

Though Sienna inwardly rolled her eyes, her expression remained unchanged.

She glanced at the person-reflecting floor-to-ceiling glass behind Simon, clearly seeing her sincere appearance, and returned to the topic, "Director Forrester, could I take ten minutes of your time to briefly discuss our guesthouse? I assure you won't be disappointed…"

As she spoke, she pushed the red wine and proposal towards Simon Forrester.

Simon Forrester immediately blocked them.

With a crash, accompanied by a woman's shocked, short exclamation, shards of glass and scarlet liquid splattered onto Sienna's bare, attractive legs.

She froze entirely, staring dumbly at her instep being sliced open by the glass shards.

Seeing the fresh blood flowing out, her face abruptly changed, breath quickened, limbs turned cold, her body nearly toppling sideways.

"You get faint at the sight of blood?" The man's strong arm promptly supported her body, leading her inside, "Come in and rest for a while."

His voice seemed less cold, causing the dizzy Sienna to hear a hint of deep warmth.
