After dinner, Mia Sutton lay contentedly on the sofa, craning her neck to glance at the kitchen, where Jensen Sterling was washing the dishes.
Mia smacked her lips, feeling quite comfortable.
Once everything was tidied up, and Jensen Sterling came out, Mia patted the spot beside her, her voice cheerful as she said, "Jensen, come sit over here."
In Jensen Sterling's gaze, the young girl, petite and cross-legged on the sofa, was smiling with eyes curved like crescents, waving at him.
His fingers at his side unconsciously rubbed together, then he stretched his long legs, walked over in a few strides, sat down beside her, and looked at her with lowered eyes.
In a soft voice, he asked, "What's up?"
Mia picked up her phone and handed it to him, pointing to a video, "Look at this, isn't this really funny?" Her voice tinged with laughter as she spoke.
Jensen lowered his eyes to glance at the phone; it was a funny skit. He watched it seriously, then said, "Yeah, it's pretty funny."
