Chapter 217 - Chapter 216

Inside the Villa—

Yukinoshita Haruno and Akira Fujimiya returned, one after the other.

Haruno moved toward her group of friends with effortless grace, her heels tapping lightly against the polished floor.

Akira, meanwhile, headed toward the cluster of girls waiting near the side of the hall.

The atmosphere of the ballroom shimmered under the warm chandeliers. Soft music drifted through the air, and the gentle hum of conversations created a lively but elegant backdrop.

It was the perfect contrast to the tension and excitement quietly building among the girls.

Akira stopped in front of Yukinoshita Yukino and offered his hand as he looked at her.

The second Miss Yukinoshita rose slowly from her seat.

Her movements were deliberate, almost ritualistic, as she placed her delicate hand into his.

Without a word, they stepped together toward the dance floor, attracting the eyes of more than a dozen guests.

"...Did you give your birthday present to your sister?" Yukino asked softly.

"Mhm. I gave it to her," Akira nodded as he replied. "She said she liked it very much."

"What kind of gift is it?"

"Secret."

Yukino glanced toward the enormous windows lining the hall, as she begin slowly, revealing her inner thoughts.

"Just now, there seemed to be a meteor shower outside. Could it be related to you?"

"Yukino-chan, do you think I'm a magician?"

Yukino stared at him—The faint tightening of Yukino's lips was the only sign that revealed she was embarrassed by her own wild imagination.

They reached the center of the dance floor.

The lights dimmed slightly, leaving a warm glow that illuminated their silhouettes.

Akira's gaze landed gently on Yukino's face.

Yukinoshita Yukino felt the weight of his attention. Her cheeks flushed instantly, and she quickly averted her eyes—not daring to look at his face.

Akira stepped closer and placed his hand around Yukino's slender waist.

Her body stiffened for a moment, then softened.

Yukino leaned slightly into his chest, her heartbeat loud enough for her to feel it through her entire body.

"Mrs. Yukino Yukinoshita," he whispered, "I love you."

"...Akira… I… I love you too."

"What do you like about me?"

"I… I don't know," she answered truthfully, looking down.

"Alright then," Akira said softly, "let me tell you what I like about you. I like your arrogance, your cuteness, the way you laugh at me, and the way your smile brightens my day."

Yukino's lips trembled faintly. "Then I… I like your responsible side… even if you are lame and douchebag sometimes."

The song ended.

The two separated gently, fingers brushing briefly before Akira led her back to the group.

As they approached, several pairs of eyes were already watching them—anticipating, curious, hopeful.

Akira paused before extending his hand to Hiratsuka Shizuka next.

"Hiratsuka-sensei."

"Don't...call me sensei in this situation," she muttered, though she still placed her hand in his.

Her cheeks reddened, but her posture remained rigid and composed—typical of Hiratsuka Shizuka struggling between discipline and emotion.

They stepped onto the dance floor.

"Sensei, don't be nervous," Akira teased lightly.

"I—I'm not nervous," Hiratsuka Shizuka protested immediately.

"Your hands are shaking…"

"T-That's… that's a tremor of joy."

"Trembling with joy? Dancing with me brings you joy?"

"Shut up!," she snapped quietly, "From now on, no talking."

Akira chuckled softly but complied.

As they continue silently—

Once they reached the center of the floor, Akira lifted their joined hands and placed his other hand respectfully on her waist.

His movements were calm and confident, as though guiding a partner he had danced with countless times.

Shizuka Hiratsuka looked at him with complicated eyes—something between admiration, longing, and quiet resignation.

'If I were ten years younger… I wonder if…'

Her thoughts drifted.

Akira leaned slightly closer.

"Hiratsuka-sensei, are you thinking that if you were younger, maybe you and I could be together?" He whisper lightly.

"..!!"

Her face exploded into deep red, before she calm herself—

"Yes. I was thinking that," she whispered sharply, "but it won't happen. So what's wrong with thinking it? Am I not allowed to think?"

"Of course you're allowed." Akira smiled. "And I have to say—you're adorable when you're shy."

"Hmph! Even if you praise me, I won't feel any better about you!"

"Because your affection for me is already full, right?"

"That's not it!"

"Sensei, you look just like Yukino when she's being a tsundere."

"You talk too much. I won't dance anymore."

"Okay, okay. I won't talk. Let's dance seriously."

"No talking."

Akira nodded.

Slowly, Shizuka lifted her eyes to meet his.

{T/N: Shis is 5 feet 8.8 inches tall, Akira is taller}

For a moment, she allowed herself to sink into the moment.

Hiratsuka Nohara, standing near the hall entrance, watched with gentle pride.

His eyes softened as he watch them dance together.

Shizuka sensed his gaze and glanced over to see.

When she saw her father smiling warmly as he nodded to her, she lowered her head.

Just dancing with Akira is enough to make him that happy…?

"Sensei," Akira said softly, "your father cares about you deeply. Parents' love isn't always obvious..Sometimes it's strict, sometimes hard to see. But when you're older… you start to feel it."

"You…"

She was about to retort—about to tell him he didn't understand—until she remembered Akira's own situation, the weight behind his words.

She fell silent.

"Hiratsuka-sensei, you should visit home more often," Akira whispered gently.

"…You don't need to remind me," she said softly.

He hugged her lightly.

After a brief moment, the song ended, and they left the dance floor.

After Hiratsuka Shizuka, the next was Yuigahama Yui.

Yui's eyes darted around nervously, overwhelmed by the attention.

She looked ready to bolt away from here.

But she couldn't—

Akira took her hand firmly.

"Don't mind the people watching. Just look at me, Yui focus at me..."

"I'm not like Akira-kun… I can't handle everyone staring," Yui whispered nervously.

Akira smile gently, stepped onto the dance floor and pulled her directly into his arms.

Yui's face turned bright red as she feels his embrace, before she jumped away.

"Akira-kun! You're such a jerk!"

"Yui, you little fool."

He held her hand again and guided her gently.

Yui tried to keep some distance, but Akira didn't let her drift too far, as he pulled her close whenever she tired to.

"How do you feel now?" he asked.

"I feel like I walked into some incredible world…" Yui whispered, "But if Akira-kun is here… then I'm not scared."

Her eyes soften as she looked up at him.

"Do you know what I'm thinking?" Akira asked, glancing at the hall.

"I don't," Yui replied honestly.

"I was thinking… if you wore a blue outfit right now, you'd look exactly like Cinderella."

"Then where are my crystal shoes?" she asked, smiling shyly.

"If you want them, I'll buy them." Akira said directly.

"No! I don't wear high heels."

"Hmm, True..little fool isn't really suited for them."

'They will make her uncomfortable'

"I'm not a little fool!" Yui pouted, as she averted her eyes.

Their dance ended, and Yui pulled her hand away swiftly.

As she hurried back to her seat beside Yukino.

Akira turned to Miura Yumiko next.

Yumiko met his gaze calmly, a sweet smile spreading across her face.

Unlike Yui or Yukino, she stepped closer to him without hesitation.

Their hands connected smoothly, and they moved to the dance floor.

Yumiko's dance steps were practiced and graceful, aligning perfectly with Akira's.

There were no flustered words or awkward pauses—just silent understanding and elegance.

From the edge of the crowd, Miura Haruto watched proudly. Beside him, a manager from Yukinoshita Construction observed the two dancing.

Seeing Haruto's daughter dance with Akira made the manager suddenly treat him with even more respect.

The dance ended.

Akira gently pulled Yumiko closer for a brief moment.

"Yumiko, you dance beautifully," he whispered.

"Akira-kun… you're just as good," she replied quietly, softly.

"When we get the chance, let me appreciate your dancing again."

"…Mhm." Yumiko nodded, then reluctantly released his hand.

The next was Nishimiya Shouko.

But when she stepped toward the dance floor and saw so many watching eyes, she immediately signed her refusal.

Akira smiled gently and signed back that he would later ask her to compensate him instead.

Naoko instantly blushed and nodded, though she clearly had no idea what the "compensation" meant.

Akira then looked toward Hanada Yui.

Her face turned pink as she felt his gaze. She knew it was her turn.

Akira offered his hand politely.

Hanada Yui quickly placed her hand in his.

Together, they walked toward the dance floor, drawing countless eyes once more.

After all, Akira had already danced with several girls—each beautiful, each special.

To many watching, Akira Fujimiya looked like nothing but a charming scoundrel.

But to the girls… he was the boy whose hand they wanted to hold, even for a moment.

The music swelled.

And another dance began.
