When passing by a convenience store, they each bought an umbrella.
Akira naturally brought the umbrella from home.
When he arrived at the school gate, Akira saw Meguri Shiromeguri standing there.
"Senpai, you're waiting for me here early in the morning. Do you want to give me a love letter?" Akira said before Meguri could even reach him.
"N-No... no. I'm waiting here for Fujimiya-kun because I learned a lot yesterday, and I wanted to thank you for giving me the opportunity to work," Meguri said with a blush on her face.
"I thought Senpai brought me a love letter. I'm so disappointed," Akira sighed dramatically.
"I... I can try to write one," Meguri lowered her head, voice soft.
"Really? Then please give me some time during lunch break. I want to get a love letter from you, Senpai," Akira said with a sincere tone.
"Y-Yes," Meguri replied, her cheeks reddening further.
Several girls were watching from the side, looking at each other in confusion.
Yuigahama Yui pouted slightly but didn't stop Akira's teasing behavior.
"Senpai..." a familiar voice called from behind.
Isshiki Iroha ran over from a distance.
When she arrived in front of Akira, she saw the group of upperclassmen and quickly stopped to greet them.
The seniors' impressions of her were all fairly good—mainly because Akira liked her.
Naturally, they wouldn't hate Iroha either.
Isshiki Iroha greeted them politely and smiled at Akira.
Akira reached out and patted her head gently.
At the same time, the Yukinoshita family's car pulled up.
When Yukinoshita Yukino got out of the car, Yuigahama Yui immediately walked over and spoke to her in a low voice.
After hearing what Yui said, Yukino rolled her eyes at Akira.
Yui smiled playfully at Akira, took Yukino's arm, and the two of them walked into the school together.
Miura Yumiko and the others followed behind.
Meguri also followed them out soon after.
Only Isshiki Iroha remained standing beside Akira — She didn't seem to care about other people's gazes at all.
"Senpai, I didn't bring an umbrella today," Isshiki said softly.
"If you don't want to go back, you can just stay in Sakurasou," Akira replied casually, glancing at her.
"Thank you for taking me in, Senpai," Isshiki said with a bright smile.
"It's not free shelter," Akira whispered under his breath.
Isshiki's pretty face turned red when she heard that.
Akira walked forward, and Isshiki quickly followed behind.
When the two of them reached the shoe cabinet, the rain outside had already turned heavy.
Akira changed his shoes and looked at the downpour beyond the entrance.
....
Meanwhile,
Hiratsuka Shizuka sat in front of the television watching a sign language instructional video.
She was taking a sign language course.
She had learned a few simple gestures, but whenever she tried to put them together, she got them wrong.
Every time she made a mistake, she would think of Akira's incredible memory.
"If only I had that kind of memory ability," she muttered.
If she did, sign language and other things could be mastered easily.
But unfortunately, she didn't.
All she could do was study again and again.
Hiratsuka believed that as long as she learned sign language, she would be able to communicate with "her" properly.
Thinking of this, she turned her gaze toward the computer beside her.
On the screen, a girl was leaning against the bed, holding a book and reading quietly.
That was the textbook Hiratsuka-sensei had brought her.
She loved reading, and when she did, she became a very quiet girl.
She looked calm and peaceful, but...
She couldn't hear any sound.
Without the help of her hearing aids, her world was silent.
Because she couldn't hear, she struggled to grasp the pronunciation of each word, making her speech unclear.
Because of this, she had been mocked since childhood—called "deaf" or "mute."
Gradually, she stopped speaking altogether.
Eventually, she could only communicated through sign language.
Frequent hospital visits placed a heavy burden on her family.
Once, while walking by a river, she fall into the water. She wasn't even able to shout for help.
If not for some people who happened to pass by, she might have lost her life that day.
But she didn't fall because of her carelessness —
She had seen a cat trapped in a box near the river and had wanted to rescue it.
As a result, she accidentally fell in while trying to reach it—and because she couldn't swim, she was swept away by the current.
She told her parents —by sign language— about this but...Her family didn't believe her explanation.
When they went to the hospital, even the doctor said she might have been hallucinating, which led to such an incident.
She had told all of this to Hiratsuka-sensei.
And Hiratsuka Shizuka believed her.
However, she didn't dare leave the girl alone at home for too long.
She always thought, "It's better to be cautious then something happening... what if she lies and just feels guilty for troubling me?"
'What would Akira-kun do in this situation?' Hiratsuka thought to herself as she looked out the window.
She had no intention of asking Akira for help.
She was worried...
Her expression grew complicated as she thought about it.
....
At the same time,
Akira was also looking out a window.
He watched the rain fall heavily outside.
"Looks like I can't play tennis during lunch break," he murmured.
The rain might stop by afternoon—or continue into tomorrow.
According to the weather forecast, the next few days wouldn't be great either.
Tomorrow was the last day of the month.
Akira had no real intention of increasing Isshiki Iroha's favorability—just like with Miura Yumiko.
He was merely curious about who the next anime heroine would be.
It seemed there was no one left from Sobu High School, since he has talked or have some kind of relationship with all the Heroine.
The system wouldn't choose anyone around him.
And it would also never give him abilities for free; it would likely only increase the difficulty.
"Will there be heroines from other anime worlds?" Akira wondered to himself. "If that's the case, there are a lot of potential targets."
There wasn't any information about the heroines he knew in this world.
But that didn't mean they didn't exist.
Perhaps the system was simply hiding them.
...
Before long, it was lunch time.
Because it was raining, most students chose to stay in their classrooms instead of going out.
Yuigahama Yui and the others headed to the Service Club.
Akira glanced at Totsuka Saika and Hikigaya Hachiman, who were sitting together eating lunch, before leaving the classroom.
He walked down the hallway to the Student Council Office—but found that Meguri Shiromeguri hadn't arrived yet, and the door was still locked.
He waited for a few minutes.
Then came the sound of hurried footsteps.
Akira looked up and saw Meguri running toward him.
When she was almost in front of him, she suddenly tripped and fell forward.
Akira reacted quickly, stepping up to catch her before she hit the ground.
However, the place where his hands landed...
"Shiromeguri-senpai, I didn't mean it," Akira said quickly as he saw Meguri frozen in shock.
Meguri finally realized what had happened.
She stood up in embarrassment, her face bright red, unable to look him in the eye.
"Shiromeguri-senpai, you're not allowed to run in the hallway. That seems to be a school rule, right?" Akira said with a teasing smile.
"I-I didn't mean to! I just didn't want to keep you waiting too long," Meguri stammered, her voice trembling slightly.
"It's okay if I have to wait a few more minutes. If you'd fallen just now, I would've felt responsible," Akira said gently.
"Fujimiya-kun... thank you," Meguri said, her heart warming at his words.
"No need to thank me. I'm just glad you didn't misunderstand me. Although I'm not exactly a good person, what I was thinking just now was that I really didn't want you to get hurt," Akira said with a soft smile.
"I... I know," Meguri murmured, lowering her head again as she recalled the warmth from just moments ago.
Her face was crimson, but there was a faint, genuine smile on her lips.
Akira looked at her for a moment, then turned his head toward the door.
The rain outside continued to pour, tapping rhythmically against the windows.
