Chapter 146 - Chapter 146

Next Morning—

Akira Fujimiya woke up as he took out his phone from under the pillow and checked the time.

It was already six o'clock in the evening.

The setting sun slowly dyed the distant waves a glowing shade of orange.

In his arms, Yukinoshita Haruno leaned softly against him, breathing calmly, still asleep— completely unaware of the Man who was now staring at her beautiful face.

Suddenly—

Ding-ling-ling—

A crisp ringtone echoed through the quiet hotel room.

Akira looked at Haruno's ringing phone—

The screen showed an incoming call — the name:

Mrs. Yukinoshita

He hesitated for a brief moment before carefully taking the phone, sliding his finger across the screen.

He answered—

"Come to the company tomorrow," Mrs. Yukinoshita's cold, commanding voice came through the speaker. "I will hand over all Yukinoshita family assets to you, and then go to Tokyo."

Akira's eyes flickered slightly. He glanced at the still-sleeping Haruno in his arms.

"…I understand. I will tell her."

"...Where are you two?"

"A hotel by the sea," he replied calmly.

.....

By the Sea,

The sound of waves crashing against jagged rocks.

Akira sat on a large reef overlooking — the sun sinking into the ocean.

Behind him, the clicking of heels approached.

A refined voice broke the silence.

"I still don't understand what charm you possess that could make Haruno like you…"

Akira turned slowly.

Mrs. Yukinoshita stood a few steps away — elegant, strict, unreadable.

"I don't have an answer to that," Akira replied honestly. "Maybe she was curious because I treated her differently from others. Over time… curiosity changed into affection."

Mrs. Yukinoshita narrowed her eyes.

"If I allow you to marry Haruno, and grant you the Yukinoshita family's construction company… will you stay away from Yukino?"

Akira's expression hardened.

"I will only marry Yukino-chan."

"And what about Haruno?"

"I will do everything in my power… to make her happy."

Mrs. Yukinoshita was silent for a beat.

"I have investigated your business," she continued. "To be frank, your performance is exceptional. Hanada Yui said your abilities are no worse than mine. If you marry Haruno, I can entrust everything to you."

"I'm not interested in the Yukinoshita family's property. And Haruno isn't either." Akira shook his head.

"What if I decide to take Yukino away?" she asked finally.

Akira said nothing.

Instead, he stood up, taking out his phone from his pocket, unlocked it, and called Yukinoshita Yukino.

Mrs. Yukinoshita froze — not expecting such a direct action.

The call connected.

Yukino's slightly confused voice came through:

"Calling at this time… what's wrong?"

"Your Mother wants to take you away from me. Will you go with her?" Akira asked straightforwardly.

"…what did you just say?" Yukino sounded stunned.

Akira looked at the woman standing before him.

"Mrs. Yukinoshita, can you please repeat what you just said to me," he requested, handing her the phone.

Mrs. Yukinoshita stared at him — shock flickering behind her composed exterior.

She realized… Akira already knew Yukino's true heart.

Yet… she still wasn't ready to give up.

Taking a deep breath, she spoke:

"Yukino… would you consider going to school in Tokyo? I have transferred control of the construction company to Akira-kun and your Sister. They are… a good match."

There was a brief moment of silence on Yukino's end.

"…I also think so," she said slowly, voice trembling with determination.

Mrs. Yukinoshita's eyes widened, surprised.

"But… Mother," Yukino continued, her voice becoming firm and clear, "no matter what happens, I will stay by his side. This is my decision. Even if you expel me from the Yukinoshita family… I won't regret it. I have confirmed my feelings. I love him."

"…," Mrs. Yukinoshita fell silent, speechless.

Akira spoke softly:

"Sorry to trouble you. I'll come to your apartment later."

"I'll be waiting," Yukino whispered shyly.

The call ended.

Akira took his phone back and slide it into his pocket, then faced Mrs. Yukinoshita.

She looked lost.

Her usual composure cracked.

"How could Yukino…" she whispered. "How could she…"

"The Yukino you remember — and the Yukino now are different," Akira replied steadily. "She has friends now. She has purpose. Do you know how hard she worked? How hard it was for her?"

"Of course I know…"

"Do you?" Akira cut in, his voice sharp. "Did you hear what the driver told you? You haven't actually seen it, right?"

Her lips parted… but no answer came.

Because she knew he was right.

"You neglected her. She became an animation director not for your approval… but because she loved my script."

"She was lonely — painfully so. Haruno understood that from the start. But you — her mother — did you?"

Mrs. Yukinoshita lowered her gaze. She couldn't refute a single word.

"I can take care of both of them," Akira stated quietly. "Keep the Yukinoshita family's property — I don't want it. Yukino doesn't want it, neither do Haruno."

He bowed respectfully…

…and turned away.

Mrs. Yukinoshita watched his silhouette disappear against the sunset — unable to find a response.

.....

Akira returned to the hotel,

Haruno was already awake, sitting by the window, watching the sea.

At the sight of him, her smile blossomed — gentle and sincere.

"What were you and Mother talking about?" she asked softly.

"I told her… we don't care."

He summarized it in the simplest words possible.

Haruno chuckled lightly.

"Mother already knows the answer in her heart. She simply wanted to test you one last time...She's already prepared to leave for Tokyo. Soon, she will gradually hand over control of the company to me."

Akira approached her.

"In the future, if I have time… I'll come visit you at the Yukinoshita construction company." He said calmly, gentle.

Haruno's heart trembled.

She stood, wrapped her arms around him tightly.

"I might become very busy soon… too busy to come see you. So you must find time to visit me. Otherwise… I will miss you."

"That's not something you would usually say," Akira teased gently.

Haruno rested her head against his chest, voice quiet and earnest:

"In front of you, I'm not Miss Yukinoshita. I'm just a girl who loves you."

"…I know. Haruno."

The moment he said that — her eyes widened.

Her cheeks flushed. As she lifted herself on tiptoe…

…and kissed him.

Akira didn't hesitate to respond.

Time blurred for several minutes as they embraced — their breaths deeply intertwined.

When she finally broke the kiss, Haruno looked into his eyes, smiling.

"Where are we going next?"

"I will go to Yukino's apartment."

Akira took Haruno's hand gently.

She squeezed back — fingers tightly interlocked.

"And I will go to her, then" She said, as she look at the man — she choose.... And Loved

.....

Eight o'clock at night.

Below the Flash Animation Studio building.

Yukino stepped out the entrance, adjusting her bag — only to spot a familiar luxury car.

She paused as she spotted her sister beside it, waving at her.

"Yukino. I've come to pick you up," Haruno said with a warm smile.

"…Where is your driver?" Yukino blinked in surprise, as she walked towards it.

"That driver was arranged by mother, I dismissed her. A replacement will arrive tomorrow. As for your driver — no need to change her."

Haruno opened the car door.

Yukino slipped inside quietly.

"I assume you're curious about what Mother talked about with Akira-kun," Haruno said while fastening her seatbelt and starting the engine.

"You… took him to see Mother?" Yukino asked, uncertainty flickering in her voice.

Though she spoke confidently earlier, she wasn't immune to fear.

The thought of losing Akira… terrified her.

Haruno nodded.

"Akira-kun spoke up for me. He was so brave that I… ended up saying I would give up my position as a Yukinoshita and live in Sakurasou."

She looked ahead, voice calm but filled with emotion.

She skipped over the deeper details — the tension, the forceful words exchanged.

And of couse—she avoided mentioning anything about the kiss in the hotel and about the bathroom.

"…I see," Yukino murmured.

As Haruno continued explaining, Yukino silently absorbed everything.

Her hand tightened slightly on her bag.

Mother was going to Tokyo.

That meant… her cousin…

Her expression darkened for a moment — but she forced herself to calm down.

Everything would be fine.

.....

Inside Yukino's apartment,

A simple dining table —Three plates of warm food carefully arranged — steam rising from the dishes, with Akira waiting calmly.

Click!

The sound of the door opening reached his ears.

Akira stood up as he started walking towards the door.

Yukino and Haruno stood at the entrance changing their shoes.

"Dinner is ready," Akira said with a gentle tone.

Yukino raised her head. Her expression softened — But complicated emotions swirling in her deep blue eyes.

She knew.

He did all of this… not only because she asked him to look after Haruno…

…but because he cared.

"Thank you for your hard work," Yukino whispered.

"It wasn't hard," Akira smiled.

Just from her expression, he understood what she was thinking.

Yes — Yukino had reasons for wanting Haruno to be supported.

But Akira had his own reasons too.

And the kiss he shared with Haruno at the seaside hotel… was also part of that truth.

Haruno stepped forward, breaking the moment.

"Alright, you two will have plenty of time to talk later. If we wait any longer, the food will get cold."

Yukino snapped back to reality — cheeks turning faintly red.

Haruno walked inside without hesitation.

Akira looked at Haruno's back before turning his eyes towards the blushing Yukino.

As he—
