In the blink of an eye, it was lunchtime.
Akira received an email from Hanada Yui.
The content of the cooperation was straightforward: select excellent mangas for translation.
For every manga sold, the original author and Future Comics Publishing House would receive a certain percentage of the profits.
The other party initially proposed a full buyout, which was unacceptable for any publishing house. Copyright was the key.
In addition, there were shopping platforms over there interested in cooperation, inviting Future Comics Publishing House to open an online store on their platform. Whether for manga or peripheral products, the market potential was enormous.
The previous president had not pursued this opportunity due to personal reasons, but Akira would not let Future Comics miss out.
Hanada Yui felt it was fine to discuss online stores and translated comics, but she still wanted to hear Akira's opinion on how to proceed.
After considering it, Akira replied to Hanada Yui.
.....
Future Comics Publishing House,
Hanada Yui's office,
She and Sato Yumiko sat on the sofa, reviewing the information as it came in.
The cooperation agreement are yet to be finalized, but once confirmed, both sides would send representatives to sign the contract.
Ding!
Hanada Yui checked her laptop and opened a new email. Yumiko Sato immediately leaned over to see it.
When they read Akira's email, both were stunned.
"The online store and the manga are a complete package. If we open a store there, we need staff from their side. Translated manga should be displayed alongside the originals…"
In short, Akira's email proposed that the online store sell translated versions of the manga.
This did not conflict with the interests of the publishers.
The store would provide translated manga, sell them online, and share profits based on a set percentage.
In the future, comic publishers could even establish their own companies over there.
If necessary, they could coordinate with local manufacturers for production.
For convenience, Akira also suggested that management also be handled from that side.
"Ms. Hanada, this…" Yumiko Sato looked at Yui in surprise.
"Young master Akira has his reasons," Hanada Yui explained.
E-manga app(/website) and video streaming platform could cooperate in the future, and having a local company would make operations much easier.
"Are we going there in person?" Yumiko Sato asked. She had never been, and there was a trace of anticipation in her eyes.
"This time, I'll bring a friend to discuss cooperation. Next time, the editor from Future Comics Publishing House can visit," Yui replied. "It's impossible for both of us to go at once, so one must remain to manage the publishing house."
.....
Service Club—
Akira did not discuss business with Yukinoshita Yukino and the others. Instead, he focused on the Madoka Magica game.
When Yukino learned about Yuigahama Yui's idea, she agreed wholeheartedly.
Though Madoka Magica was excellent, the game didn't need to follow the original exactly.
Everyone in the service club gave their own opinions—
Yui believed all characters and monsters should be drawn in a cute style.
Ebina Hina suggested adding skills and health bars.
Miura Yumiko wanted monsters to be capturable and allow players to go on adventures with them.
Kawasaki Keika, though unfamiliar with game design, thought puzzle elements could blend well with the cute art style.
Yukino summarized their ideas and helped Yui organize them.
Then, the team quickly divided the responsibilities.
Yui and Yumiko handled characters, monsters, and some backgrounds. Kawasaki worked on puzzle mechanism, Hina on the plot, and Yukino oversaw the overall development.
As for Akira? The five girls completely ignored him.
Akira said nothing. He just thought it would be good for the future of they continue to work together like this.
Once the game was complete, Yui would naturally distribute profits according to the agreed share.
His exclusion seemed intentional, likely thought through by Yukino.
Ring! Ring! Ring!
Suddenly, Akira's cell phone rang.
Yukino and others glanced over and saw Hikigaya Komachi's name.
The girls went silent, watching him, more like staring daggers.....
"Komachi, good afternoon," Akira answered casually.
"Akira nii-san, good afternoon," Komachi's laugh was sweet.
"Are you calling to treat me to a meal or to ask me out?" Akira teased, glancing at Yukino beside him.
Yukino shot him a glare but remained silent, her face indifferent.
"Komachi got the job. Once I receive my salary, I'll invite Akira nii-san to dinner or you can come to my house for dinner," Komachi said cheerfully.
"Okay. When the time comes, I'll bring three signed copies of Non Non Biyori manga," Akira replied after a moment's thought.
"Akira nii-san is the best!" Komachi exclaimed.
"Compared to your brother, who's better?" Akira asked with a smile.
"Of course, Akira nii-san is better!" Komachi didn't hesitate for a second.
Hagiman would have cried if he heard that, Akira thought, satisfied with Komachi's answer.
After a few more words, Akira ended the call. As He put away his phone and held Yukino's hand without waiting for her to question him.
"Komachi is Hikigaya's sister. If you're jealous, then you don't trust me," he said lightly.
Yukino glare at him and —
Step!
Stepped on his foot.
He hope he doesn't awaken a new fetish.
....
Afternoon,
Hanada Yui negotiated the terms.
The publishing house agreed, though specific details would be finalized once she visited. Because the e-manga app and web version were in their early stages, and with the video streaming acquisition, she was still needed here.
Handling matters overseas would take at least a week.
After receiving Hanada Yui's message, Akira called Yukinoshita Haruno.
{Should have change the name 😅}
The Yukinoshita family already knew about the contacts overseas, as Haruno held a 10% stake.
She could send Hayato Hayama's father to assist Yui, which Akira agreed to.
In return, Haruno set a condition: Dinner and a trip to the beach tonight.
Akira accepted her conditions and made plans.
....
Tennis Court,
Different from yesterday, a few more girls were present.
Akira noticed a girl with flaxen hair. When Hayato Hayama saw Akira, he rushed over and bowed, surprising the girls.
Why was Hayato so respectful to Akira?
Akira glanced at him, understanding his intentions, and walked toward the court with Hayama following behind quietly.
Totsuka Saika and Hikigaya Hachiman didn't notice their interaction.
Seeing the two arrive, they naturally stepped aside.
.....
Hayato Hayama was a good person. If he quit the football club for tennis, the number of girls who liked him might decrease.
He didn't intend to fall in love yet but couldn't simply drive away the admirers.
Akira observed and understood immediately, why he behave like that and didn't say anything.
The tennis match between Akira and Hayama was nearly one-sided. Akira's skills far surpassed Hayama's and with his new physical strength, it wasn't even a match but a massacre.
"That's too much. Hayama just joined the tennis club and he's treated like this?"
"If he trains for a year, he'll easily surpass him," one girl said.
"Hayama, come on!"
The girls cheered for their hero.
While, the flaxen-haired girl looked confused.
When did Hayama become so weak?
Hikigaya Hachiman frowned, noticing the issue.
"What's wrong with Hayama?" Totsuka asked.
"He wants the girls to see his weaker side and leave," Hachiman explained lightly.
"Ehh!… why?" Totsuka was stunned, unable to understand.
"Maybe because he doesn't want to be in a relationship," Hachiman replied.
Totsuka recalled something and fell silent.
