Chapter 2 - Make a Choice

I was thrown back several feet before stopping myself and looking at the tyrannical being that had come out of the ground.

It was still slithering out, scales white and black.

It was at least the size of 2 or 3 football fields and had the body of a large snake with two front arms, a long tongue and sharp, jagged teeth.

Then, it stared at him through the dust.

It rose higher and higher until it looked like some type of deity.

And then, out of nowhere, it shot down at him, threatening to kill him.

And it moved fast. Faster than anything he'd seen before.

He ran.

He turned and ran as fast as he could, his legs were burning and his head was pounding.

But it was all for nothing. It was already behind him.

There was only one thing I could do.

Keep running.

Run. Run. Run.

You don't want to die, right?

You don't want to look pathetic.

You don't want do be a burden.

You don't want everyone to hate you.

But it seems like everyone does.

You shouldn't be here.

He prayed that he'd somehow survive miraculously.

Because he never planned to die. At least not yet. Not when he hasn't gone back to his family.

So he ran even faster.

He pushed his legs to the limit, but as he glanced behind him, he saw the mouth of the tyrannical serpent closing in on him, and he closed his eyes and waited to die.

But death never came.

Instead, the sound of barely audible footsteps were heard and he opened his eyes to a woman in a sleek black bodysuit with a black and red cloak on that resembled something you'd see in a pirate show, and a black cowboy hat.

She swiftly took out a large greatsword and cut the giant serpent in half, but it was still moving due to nerve reflexes, so she jumped onto it's back and ran across it to it's head extremely quickly, and pulled out a shotgun.

Next, yellow and purple energy surged around the gun, and as she shot it, it blasted the head to bits, sending pieces of it scattering everywhere.

It was still alive and it's head was growing back.

When it was fully healed, it charged at her, biting and spraying some type of purple venom that burned through the ground.

They fought and fought, the serpent's scales harder than ever.

They were at a standstill, before the woman crushed some type of electric orb in her hand and ran it across her greatsword, wrapping it in a storm of purple and blue electricity.

Then, the serpent ate her.

It just swallowed her.

And it focused on him.

He ran again, his legs almost buckling, but he endured.

He kept going and going but it was in vain. The serpent had it's mouth open and right behind him.

But then, it stopped.

And i saw electricity run through it.

And then, it exploded in a storm of shock and lightning, sending blood splattering everywhere.

She was high up in the air and falling gracefully before nearing the ground.

She landed infront of him.

He tried to muster anything. A word. A sound. He didn't even move.

She just stared at him coldly for a moment.

"Not even a thank you?" She finally said.

He had to force out a few words now, so he let out a simple "Thanks.."

She looked at him with confusion before finally saying, "Look, I get you almost died, but ya gotta calm down. You aren't dead."

He took a deep breath. "Alright. I'm calm. So what the fuck was that and how did you kill it?"

She just shrugged "I'm special. I have powers. But let me get to the point. First off, I belong to a secret organization called the Universal Anomaly Suppression Agency or UASA for short. Basically we deal with monsters or threats to the planet and normal people like you weren't supposed to see anything like that. You just happened to see the bastard before I got here."

He stared at her, confused. "So... people with superpowers and a secret organization?"

She fidgeted with her hat. "Basically. But now that you saw that, you got a big choice to make that will cost your life either way."

He raised an eyebrow. "What are you trying to say?"

Her eyes darkened. "Well. You either get on your knees and die right here, or you come with me to our training facility. It's a hell of a place there too."

He took a step back, knowing that she could kill him at any moment depending on his answer.

She didn't give him time to respond after that though.

Instead, she walked away. "Come back to this spot tomorrow same time. Give me your answer then."

And as she walked, she dissolved into purplish blue fragments, dissappearing.

He was left standing there, confused.

But he valued his life more than anything.

He already knew his answer.

He had known before she dissapeared.

Long before it.

It was in his destiny to become someone of value.

And he was going to do just that.

He was going to the facility.
