Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: Wizard’s Dungeon (1)

Lokan is strategically preparing to raid the Wizard's Dungeon, which is notorious for its reliance on magic traps and magic-based monsters. He's using a combination of his new items, skills, and careful planning to overcome the challenges.

The Wizard's Dungeon, despite its simple name, was a difficult place for early users because it was guarded by magic traps and magic monsters, rather than typical golems or physical guardians. At this stage, players had little magical resistance, as the concept wasn't well-established, and magic defense items were rare or considered worthless.

Lokan realized he couldn't rely on brute force alone:

Magic Defense Gear: He immediately bought equipment with maximum Magic Resistance from the integrated auction house. Although most gear only had defense against specific attributes, he managed to find enough pieces to reach total Magic Defense.

Reinforcement: He used reinforcement to raise the defense of his magic resistance gear to a usable level, mitigating the issue of choosing items based purely on options.

Set Effect Synergy: His Lion King's Sealed Helmet and the newly acquired Mark of the Lion King provided him with a significant passive boost to and , further increasing his overall survivability and mana pool.

Buffs: He secured a Magic Resistance Scroll and the Priest's Blessing (All stats increased by for hours, Defense and resistance increase for hours) to maximize his resistance before entering.

Entrance: The dungeon's entrance was hidden behind a huge old tree southwest of the Crossroads. Striking the tree would dispel the illusion and reveal the entrance. This unique method, combined with the fact that the entrance automatically sealed after entry, would help Lokan monopolize the dungeon.

As Lokan arrived at the old tree, he found a disturbance: an argument over stolen prey had escalated into a confrontation.

The dispute was between members of the Hawkeye Guild, a group of high-tempered, archery-focused Half-Elves, and a lone opponent. The Half-Elves were powerful but were struggling to land a hit on the small opponent, who was counter-attacking effectively.

Lokan quickly identified the lone fighter as Click-Resistant Mitty, a GnomeWizard/Hunter known for having an intentionally minimized character model. This customization made him terrifying in The Road, as players had to physically aim, making it incredibly difficult to click (or aim at) such a small, fast target.

The Half-Elves eventually resorted to using the homing skill Guide Shot out of frustration, while Mitty used his Hunter pet, a Shield Repair bird, to defend against the attacks. When one of the Half-Elves lost his temper and charged to narrow the angle for a powerful Combination Skill attack, Lokan realized the trajectory could hit the old tree and reveal the dungeon entrance.

To protect the dungeon's secret, Lokan immediately intervened, using his Identity Camouflage to pose as a Crossroad Garrison member.

He threw a Throwing Axe at the charging Half-Elf's feet, forcing him to stop.

He shouted, "Crossroad Garrison!" and adopted the harsh demeanor of an NPC authority figure.

When the Half-Elf tried to deny attacking an "innocent" person, Lokan passed judgment on him for attacking an innocent outside the city (Mitty).

The Half-Elf was instantly arrested by the system: [You have arrested the half-elf Eagle Eye as a current criminal... Punishment commensurate with the crime would be executed.] Lokan then passed judgment on the other two Half-Elves, giving them slightly lower penalties.

After the three Half-Elves were automatically teleported away for detention, Lokan faced Mitty, who was initially sullen over his lost prey but immediately switched to a fawning, overly friendly tone upon recognizing Lokan's Garrison uniform. Lokan quickly dismissed Mitty with a stern warning to "get out of here!"

Observing Mitty flee, Lokan had a strong premonition: "If that guy is really that guy, maybe he'll see him again soon." This suggests Mitty will play a role in a future, funny scenario, likely related to his bizarre and effective playstyle.

With the area cleared, Lokan stood before the old tree and prepared to strike the final blow to reveal the dungeon entrance.
