"I'LL BE busy starting next week, Joo Woori."
Haaah.
Since Woori's plan to get fired by Park Seoham didn't work, she had no choice but to act like a proper manager now.
Hence, she pulled out her old computer tablet and began creating a schedule planner.
"I have a variety show filming in Jeju Island next week," Park Seoham said while his eyes were glued to the phone. It was because he was checking his schedule and relaying it to Woori. "Of course, you'll come with us as my manager."
"Who else will be coming?"
"My main stylist and bodyguard-slash-road manager. I'm only bringing a small team since it's just two days and one night filming," Park Seoham explained, and then he raised his head. "By the way, you know them."
"Really? Who are they, then?"
"My childhood friends— Kwon Ana and Cho Inho. Ana is my main stylist while Cho Inho is my bodyguard and road manager. You still remember them, don't you?"
"Yeah, I still remember them."
How could Woori forget Park Seoham's childhood friends?
Park Seoham has three childhood friends who are fiercely loyal to him. They gave me a hard time before, so I'm sure they're going to give me a hard time again.
However, she wasn't really afraid of Kwon Ana and Cho Inho.
Among Park Seoham's three childhood friends, there was only one whom she didn't really want to see anytime soon.
I hope I get fired before that person appears.
Woori's eyes widened in shock while letting out a gasp when the realization hit her. "Wait, does it mean I have to hang out with Ana-ssi and Inho-ssi?"
"Yes. Why are you acting like it's the end of the world?"
"Your childhood friends hate me."
"And rightfully so," Park Seoham said coldly. "Ana and Inho will be here soon."
Woori let out a groan. "Can I quit?"
Park Seoham just rolled his eyes at her.
***
OH, they had a glow-up.
Well, to be fair, Woori remembered that all of Park Seoham's childhood friends were good-looking.
That's exactly why their group was famous not just in our school, but our entire town.
Kwon Ana, the only woman in the group.
When we were in high school, she had a tomboyish image. She had a pixie cut back then and would only wear black clothes.
But the Kwon Ana in front of Woori right now was the opposite.
She now has super long hair, full-on make-up, long and colorful nails, and she's dressed in pink from head to toe.
Kwon Ana was more beautiful now than Woori remembered.
On the other hand, Cho Inho looked the same as before.
Still handsome, but bulkier now.
Cho Inho was one of the few men who could pull off buzz-cut hair and still look good.
Plus, he's tall and has a nice body.
Cho Inho's fit black shirt emphasized it.
If I remember correctly, Cho Inho used to be a Taekwondo player.
"Joo Woori, these are Kwon Ana and Cho Inho," Park Seoham said casually. "Ana, Inho, you still remember Joo Woori, don't you?"
"Of course," Kwon Ana said, smiling. "It's been a while, Woori-ssi."
Woori smiled and nodded. "It really has been a while, Ana-ssi."
Cho Inho just nodded, so Woori nodded back as a greeting.
He's still as reserved as ever.
Or maybe Cho Inho just didn't want to talk to Woori.
That's understandable, then.
"You're going to work together starting next week, so you should exchange numbers," Park Seoham said, and then he looked at Woori. "I'll be leaving Seoul with the cast members of the variety show. So, you'll be leaving with Ana and Inho that day, Joo Woori. Ana will tell you what you need later." Park Seoham then looked at his watch. "I have a personal schedule today, so you can go home after exchanging numbers with Ana and Inho."
Whew.
Woori was very relieved after hearing that she could go home early. "Yes, sir."
***
WOORI didn't want to admit this, but she felt a bit nervous when Park Seoham and Cho Inho left the conference room.
So, now, she was alone with Kwon Ana.
They only exchanged numbers, but the silence was awkward.
"I'll call you later, Woori-ssi," Kwon Ana said calmly. "I'll tell you where we'll pick you up on the day of the filming."
"Okay, I understand," Woori said, nodding. "Thank you."
Kwon Ana then looked at Woori as if she wanted to say something.
I should brace myself now.
"I'm sure Seoham knows what he's doing," Kwon Ana said carefully. "Woori-ssi, I hope you don't take advantage of Seoham's kindness."
Aigoo.
Park Seoham is the one who forced me to work for him…
But Woori knew that Kwon Ana would take Park Seoham's side, so she just kept her mouth shut.
Actually, she couldn't feel at ease, even though things ended 'calmly.'
Kwon Ana made my life a living hell when we were in high school, but she seems calmer now. Maybe she has already matured?
Or so Woori thought.
***
"DID you exchange numbers with Joo Woori?" Park Seoham asked Kwon Ana after she got in the van. "You didn't pick a fight with her, did you?"
"I'm not a child anymore to be picking a fight with someone," Kwon Ana said while closing the door. "And, to be honest, Joo Woori is below my level now. She's just a manager, so why would I waste my time picking on someone like that? Joo Woori isn't worth it."
Park Seoham understood Kwon Ana's hatred for Joo Woori.
Even Cho Inho, who usually didn't express his opinion, nodded while driving the van.
They really hate Joo Woori.
"Ana, I get that you hate Joo Woori, but you're being quite harsh," Park Seoham said carefully. "Don't look down on people in the same line of work as Joo Woori. Being a manager is an honorable job."
"Oh, of course. I only said that because it's Joo Woori," Kwon Ana said, and then she cleared her throat. "Anyway, I'll make sure I'll be professional, so leave Joo Woori to me."
***
'MATURE,' my ass.
Woori was slightly pissed after reading Kwon Ana's text message the day they were supposed to pick her up.
Yes, today was the start of Park Seoham's variety show filming.
But…
["Woori-ssi, I'm sorry, but we can't pick you up. The van is full of Seoham's clothes and other stuff that he needs, so there's not enough space for you. I'll send you the exact location of the filming site. Then we'll reimburse your fare later."]
Haaah.
I can't tell if Kwon Ana is doing this on purpose or not.
Woori let out a sigh, looking up at the gloomy sky. "They know that I'm directionally challenged, don't they?"
