Arrival at Sabaody
On the Grand Line, specifically the Sabaody Archipelago, everyone on the islands was completely focused on the approaching war. In an isolated corner of the archipelago, a strange golden spaceship silently descended from the sky and landed.
No one noticed the ship's arrival because the entire population had gathered in the center of the archipelago. They were glued to the large screens set up by the Marines, watching the live broadcast of the war unfolding at Marineford. As for the local Marine forces, they had long been transferred to the war zone, leaving the base here deserted.
The owner of this peculiar flying vessel was Lightning Disaster Enel, one of the Four Calamities of the Beasts Pirates. He was originally expected back in Wano Country to participate in the external war. However, uncontrollable delays had set his journey back.
The reason for his delay was a detour to Sky Island. When he returned, he discovered that his former God's Guard had been completely disbanded by a group of pirates after he left. Enel was quite familiar with the name of this crew: the Straw Hat Pirates!
They were the same crew that Kaido had specifically warned Enel to watch out for.
It turned out that after Enel left Sky Island with Kaido, the four priests of his old God's Guard became the de facto rulers of the place. These four were: the Priest of the Swamp Trial, Gedatsu; the Priest of the Ball Trial, Satori; the Priest of the Rope Trial, Shura; and the Priest of the Iron Trial, Ohm.
The four priests were not weak individuals. On Sky Island, only God Gan Fall and the Shandorian warrior Wapol could stand against them. However, there were four priests and only two fighters in opposition. Furthermore, the terrifying shadow that Kaido cast was too powerful, so even after Enel had left with him, Gan Fall and the Shandorians dared not openly resist. They couldn't be sure that Enel wouldn't return.
In fact, their fears were proven right; Enel did return.
But the pirates who came to Sky Island didn't care about any of that. The Straw Hat Pirates were searching for the secrets related to Shandora. They entered God's Island, Apaya, leading to an inevitable clash with the God's Guard.
The four priests were naturally no match for the Straw Hat Pirates. They only caused a minor disturbance before the four were defeated by the crew. As a result, the God's Guard scattered and fled, and their current whereabouts were unknown.
Learning all of this naturally enraged Enel. Since he was born on Sky Island, he didn't care about Joy Boy; he cared only that his divine dignity had been insulted.
He genuinely didn't have much time to waste, though. While his ark, the Ark Maxim, allowed him to travel between Sky Island and Wano Country at an extremely high speed, a seven-day round trip was already cutting it very close. He couldn't afford to waste any more time on these "ants".
Even so, gathering the scattered remnants of the God's Guard again wasted a significant amount of his time. As a result, even though he rushed back as fast as he could, he was still too late to join the initial expedition. Fortunately, at this moment, he received a new message from his 'elder brother', Kaido.
🚢 The Ark Maxim Lands
"Boom!"
The Ark Maxim descended, crashing down onto the damp grass. On the ship's deck, the four priests, visiting the Lower Sea area for the first time, looked around at the beautiful scenery with wide-eyed amazement. Even Conis, the girl from Sky Island whom Enel had brought along, along with her father and pet, had expressions of pure shock. While Sky Island was beautiful, it was a common sight to them. The magnificent world of the Sabaody Archipelago offered a level of astonishment they had never experienced.
As the Ark Maxim reached its final stopping point, Enel stepped down from his helmsman's seat.
Kaido, who possessed foreknowledge of events, knew about the Ark Maxim. When he brought Enel and the secrets of Shandora away, he made sure to take the ship with them. He had even considered forming an air force within the Beasts Pirates if he could figure out the Ark Maxim's flight technology.
However, after Enel explained the ship's technology to him, he gave up the idea. Kaido realized that, at least until Queen could thoroughly research Enel's Rumble-Rumble Fruit ability and convert it into a technology that could be used in various weapons—similar to what could be done with Kizaru's Light-Light Fruit—his dream was impossible. This was because the most essential element that allowed the Ark Maxim to fly was the energy provided by the Rumble-Rumble Fruit itself. Currently, there was no other known source of that energy.
As Enel walked over, Conis and her family, who were still mesmerized by the beautiful scenery, immediately became tense with fear.
Enel paid their fear no mind. However, when he considered Kaido's specific instructions regarding the woman named Conis, a hint of interest appeared on his face.
At that moment, the four priests approached Enel with expressions of awe.
"Lord Enel, this world is truly beautiful!" one of them exclaimed. "Have you come to lead us to conquer this place?"
Enel rolled his eyes at his four priests. In the past, he might have had such an idea, but after witnessing the true, overwhelming power of this sea, he had put his arrogance aside.
"Don't say such idiotic things in the future," Enel commanded. "Remember this: from today on, even though you are my subordinates, you are also members of the Beasts Pirates. You only have one boss, and that is my elder brother, Kaido of the Beasts. Do you understand?"
To be honest, Enel didn't want to bring these four fools with him because they seemed incredibly stupid. But he had no other choice. His time in Wano Country had made him realize that even though his brother Kaido treated him very well and valued him highly, he was still an outsider in front of the others. He definitely didn't get along with those samurai from Wano Country. Fortunately, though these four were idiots, they had at least all mastered Observation Haki. They might not be skilled fighters, but they were sufficient to serve as his personal subordinates alongside his ordinary guards.
Just then, sensing something, he looked down.
On the empty grass below, an air door suddenly opened, and two figures in black robes stepped out. Enel recognized the two immediately as the people he was waiting for. After all, anything could be faked, but the abilities of Devil Fruits were unique.
"Are you two Blueno and Kalifa?" Enel asked.
The two startled, then respectfully removed their hoods to reveal their faces.
Blueno replied respectfully, "That's right, sir. You must be Lord Enel!"
Enel saw no reason to waste words. He looked at the foolish expressions of his four priests, then at the nervous Conis, and asked as if an idea had just struck him, "There is a place in the Sabaody Archipelago that's broadcasting this war, isn't there?"
Blueno was momentarily stunned, then nodded. "Of course, there is!"
"That's perfect. You two will take these guys from my ship to watch the war," Enel ordered. "That way, they won't embarrass me in front of my elder brother Kaido."
As he finished speaking, Enel transformed into a bolt of lightning and vanished instantly.
Only the stunned people from Sky Island and the two CP9 members were left staring at each other.
However, Blueno reacted quickly, immediately using his Devil Fruit ability to take everyone to the location where the Marines were broadcasting the war.
When they arrived, they witnessed the scene on the screen, which looked exactly like a natural disaster.
"Seaquake!" they heard a voice shout.
Whitebeard, known as the world's strongest man with a Devil Fruit ability, activated his power. A hundred-meter-high tsunami surged and headed straight toward Marineford.
Even on the Sabaody Archipelago, hundreds of miles away, they could feel the ground shake from the terrifying tremor. Countless islands were being submerged.
Everyone watched dumbfounded, their faces pale...
