On the coast of Port 16, two figures had been watching the entire confrontation unfold from the very beginning: the Dark King, Silvers Rayleigh, and his partner, Shakky.
The shockwave from the recent collision of ice and magma washed over them, but Shakky didn't even flinch, taking a long drag from her cigarette. She looked out at Yamato, her eyes gleaming with interest. "I never would have expected Kaido to have such a lovely daughter," she mused.
Shakky's intelligence network had long ago informed her that Kaido had a child named Yamato. However, every report she had ever received claimed that Yamato was a son. But the evidence was undeniable. The massive kanabo, the rare Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, the incredible strength, and the horns on her head—all of it confirmed that this powerful young woman was, in fact, the infamous "son" of Kaido.
"Yes, and she possesses formidable strength," Rayleigh added, a small smile on his face. "The young people of this era are truly something else."
"No matter how strong she is, she can't be a match for Akainu, can she?" Shakky's tone grew worried as she glanced at Rayleigh. "That girl attacked a Celestial Dragon. I don't see how she can escape this."
Rayleigh simply narrowed his eyes, his gaze fixed on the battlefield. "Don't worry. Let's just watch. The real show is only just beginning."
Shakky looked back toward the fight, and her eyes went wide with shock. "Wait, no way… is that…?"
It wasn't just Shakky who was stunned. On the battlefield, Akainu, who was charging full-speed at Yamato, also froze for a split second.
"What!?"
He saw it—crackling streams of black and red lightning coiling around Yamato's kanabo. It was the mark of a true Conqueror. But by the time he recognized it, it was too late. While Akainu was powerful, raw speed was his one relative weakness, and in that moment, Yamato was just as fast as him.
Boom!
Under the incredulous stares of everyone watching, Yamato's Haki-wreathed kanabo collided with Akainu's magma fist. For a single, silent moment, the world seemed to stand still.
Then, with a sound like shattering glass, Akainu's elemental form was forced back into a solid state. The kanabo slammed into his body with unstoppable force. Admiral Akainu, the Marine's ultimate weapon, was sent flying backward like a ragdoll. He crashed into the warship behind him with such power that the massive vessel was split clean in two.
The sight was so unbelievable that people began rubbing their eyes, certain they were hallucinating.
"Hey… did I just see what I think I saw?"
"No way… the Admiral… he was actually sent flying."
"Just who is this woman? She even managed to overpower Admiral Sakazuki!"
Countless people had predicted the outcome of this battle. Even after Yamato had demonstrated a Devil Fruit ability capable of clashing with an Admiral's, nobody believed a Marine Admiral could possibly lose to some unknown girl. But now, seeing him hurled through his own ship, they weren't so sure.
On Yamato's pirate ship, her new crewmates were equally dumbfounded, their mouths hanging open in disbelief. Not far away, Shakky's cigarette slipped from her fingers.
"You've got to be kidding me," she whispered. "Conqueror's Haki coating… even for a monster, there ought to be a limit!"
A bright glint flashed in Rayleigh's eyes. "Kaido has a fine daughter."
On the remains of the warship, the surviving Marines were in a state of utter panic. They never imagined that it would be their Admiral who would be so decisively overpowered. Worse, the impact had crippled the vessel, and the two halves were now rapidly sinking.
"The ship is going down! Everyone, abandon ship!"
Fortunately, Yamato's earlier attack had frozen much of the sea, giving them a solid surface to retreat to. As the bewildered Marines scrambled onto the ice, a loud explosion erupted from within the wreckage. A volcano of crimson magma burst forth, and Akainu flew out, reforming his human body in mid-air.
He looked disheveled, and though some of it was due to his own underestimation, taking a direct hit from an attack coated in Conqueror's Haki was no small thing, even for an Admiral. A trickle of blood ran from the corner of his mouth. He wiped it away with the back of his hand, his expression now colder and more serious than ever before.
"As expected of an evil bloodline," Akainu growled, his voice a low threat. "Conqueror's Haki coating. Truly astonishing." He was now certain that the woman before him was related to Kaido. "Very good."
He descended from the sky, landing softly on the ice. Hot magma began to swirl around his arms as a dark, powerful Armament Haki coated his body. "I will eliminate your wicked bloodline right here and now."
An immense, oppressive aura radiated from him, accompanied by a scorching heat that began to melt the very ice he stood on. In the next instant, he charged.
"Great Eruption!"
A volley of magma fists, like molten cannonballs, shot towards Yamato, while Akainu himself vanished from his spot.
Yamato's expression hardened. "Mahoroba!"
She swung her kanabo, unleashing a blast of silver-white cold air that froze the incoming magma fists solid. At the same time, she spun on her heel, building momentum for a powerful counter-attack.
"Thunder Bagua!"
BOOM!
Her Haki-coated club met a pitch-black, Haki-coated fist. Unlike the surprise attack from before, Akainu was now completely serious, treating Yamato as a true equal. The Conqueror's Haki was met with an unbreakable defense, and the attack was stopped cold.
Such incredible strength, Yamato thought, gritting her teeth. It's just like fighting Kaido. In that instant, she finally understood the true power of a Marine Admiral.
But Akainu gave her no time to recover. "Inugami Guren!"
His other fist transformed into a vicious hound of magma that lunged at Yamato. She was prepared.
"Kagami Yama!"
A perfect decoy of solid ice shimmered into existence in front of her, taking the full force of the magma hound and shattering into a cloud of steam. Yamato used the opening to launch another attack.
"Namuji Hyoga!"
Facing the incoming blast of cold, Akainu didn't take a single step back. He was instantly encased in layers of thick ice. The effect, however, was momentary. Within the massive ice crystal, his body transformed back into magma, and the ice melted away in seconds.
Still, it bought Yamato the time she needed. She leaped back to create distance and swung her kanabo with all her might.
"Narukabura!"
A flying slash of pure Conqueror's Haki shot from her club, hurtling toward the now-free Akainu and enveloping him in an aura of blue light.
But without needing Observation Haki, Yamato could feel it. A mass of crimson magma began to surge from within the Haki slash, growing larger and hotter.
"DAI FUNKA!"
The scorching magma didn't just block her attack; it consumed it entirely, transforming into a single, colossal magma fist that surged forward, threatening to swallow Yamator whole.
