Chapter 132. The Chimeratech Overdragon Bearing the Gods! Mastering the Limits of the Gods!
The effect of that Spell Card, "Shattering the God of Destruction," didn't just send the old guard of the Duel Monsters world into a full mental breakdown.
Even duelists in the other worlds went numb—then broke down too.
In the ZEXAL world—
Yuma Tsukumo and Astral drew a sharp breath.
With that banish, all the Graveyard resources Blue-Eyes White Dragon had been stockpiling were basically gone.
"If I remember right, Blue-Eyes doesn't really have an in-theme way to get back banished cards, right?"
"Okay, the no-shuffle CEO should be out of options now—this one's a guaranteed loss."
After thinking it through calmly, Yuma spoke.
And he was stating facts.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon really doesn't have a way to leverage banished resources.
"Don't rush it—watch."
"Let the bullets fly for a bit."
Kite Tenjo, off to the side, wasn't convinced.
Because that earlier copy of The Melody of Awakening Dragon had let the no-shuffle CEO search Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon to the hand.
In other words—
It wasn't over yet.
And the Extra Deck still hadn't been touched, right?
In ARC-V—
When Yuya Sakaki, Yuto, and Yugo saw Obelisk's cannon used to swat a mosquito, their bodies all twitched at once.
They really had never seen anyone use that effect of Obelisk.
And he Tributed Obelisk itself just to blow up the opponent's measly Jet Dragon.
But the instant they saw it paired with "Shattering the God of Destruction" to banish the opponent's entire Graveyard—
Yuya shouted that this was freaking awesome.
This combo was really awesome plus.
For a lot of Decks, the Graveyard is a second resource pool.
For Blue-Eyes in particular, The White Stone of Ancients is a key resource card.
Once it's banished, that means follow-up resource replenishment gets really hard.
So now—there's no way the no-shuffle CEO can still win, right?
In the short clip—
The turn returned to the no-shuffle CEO.
No-shuffle CEO: "My turn—draw."
No-shuffle CEO: "I activate the Spell Card—Change of Heart."
Collection of 12 Gods: "I chain my Nordic Relic Svalinn."
Collection of 12 Gods: "Trying to steal my monster? Your Change of Heart is negated."
No-shuffle CEO: "I reveal Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand to Special Summon Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon."
No-shuffle CEO: "I activate Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon's effect—destroy your Raviel, Lord of Phantasms."
No-shuffle CEO: "On the field, Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon contact-Fuse."
"Banish my Graveyard resources? You think that leaves me no chance?"
"Come forth—Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon."
"I Normal Summon Dictator of D."
"Dictator of D. activates. I discard 1 card to revive the Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon that was sent to the GY for the Fusion."
"Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon's state is refreshed."
"Continue—Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon activates again. Destroy your Loki, Lord of the Aesir."
After a hard struggle—
Just as many duelists expected, the no-shuffle CEO rekindled his resolve and started using his few remaining resources to explode his board again.
By leveraging Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon twice, he successfully wrested the advantage back to his side.
Plenty of old-school duelists looked at each other.
They hadn't expected the no-shuffle CEO's dueling will to be this unbending.
Even though his Graveyard resources had been completely banished—
He still kept going.
But after all that—
What good will it do?
Collection of 12 Gods: "Oh?"
Collection of 12 Gods: "Then I can activate Alviss of the Nordic Alfar in my GY."
Collection of 12 Gods: "When my Aesir monster is sent to the GY by the opponent, I can banish this card from the GY to Special Summon from the Extra Deck 1 Aesir monster with a different name from those in my GY."
"The last of the three Aesir."
"It's time for you to appear and judge all."
"Thor, Lord of the Aesir!"
Sure enough.
Here it comes.
The last Aesir arrived off that combo.
3500 ATK, plus the powerful effect to negate the effects of all face-up monsters your opponent controls until the End Phase.
Unfortunately—
It isn't a Quick Effect.
So in the current board—
It's just a wall to stop Twin Burst's attack.
No-shuffle CEO: "I see. But my dueling will won't go out."
No-shuffle CEO: "Blue-Eyes Twin Burst—attack."
"First strike. Twin Burst attacks Thor, Lord of the Aesir. I take 500 LP."
"Twin Burst cannot be destroyed by battle. The monster it battled gets banished without targeting."
"Second strike. Twin Burst attacks your Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon. I take 400 LP."
"Your Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon gets banished too."
"My turn ends."
Collection of 12 Gods: "My turn. Draw."
Collection of 12 Gods: "I activate Opening of the Spirit Gates on my field—I discard 1 card."
Collection of 12 Gods: "I revive Chaos Summoning Beast from my GY."
"Chaos Summoning Beast Tributes itself."
"Looks like I still haven't summoned one of the three Sacred Beasts."
"Then—here he is."
"It's time for your debut."
"Uria, Lord of Searing Flames."
"At the same time, I activate Uria's effect—destroy your face-up Set Trap 'Destined Rivals' in your backrow."
"I flip my Trap—Double Hooking."
What the—!
It's that Trap again.
Uria's shock didn't even compare to this Trap.
Double Hooking is truly insane.
Last time, after using it, he did all kinds of ridiculous plays.
Now he's using it again—
What's he reviving this time?
Collection of 12 Gods: "I activate Double Hooking—discard 1 card."
Collection of 12 Gods: "I Special Summon Obelisk the Tormentor and Gale Dogra from my GY."
"I activate Gale Dogra—pay 3000 Life Points."
"I send Armityle the Chaos Phantasm from my Extra Deck to the GY."
"I pay another 3000 Life Points."
"I send Armityle the Chaos Phantasm – Phantom of Fury from my Extra Deck to the GY."
"I pay 3000 Life Points again."
"I send Chimeratech Overdragon from my Extra Deck to the GY."
Huh?
What on earth?
He revived Gale Dogra?
That previously milled "makes no sense" card?
And then—
He keeps paying LP to send Fusion Monsters from the Extra Deck to the GY?
Huh?
What kind of trick is this?
And the cards he's sending—
Seem to all be Sacred Beast Fusion Monsters.
That's not even the craziest part.
What sent the entire Duel Academy into utter confusion was—
After the third 3000 LP payment, the card he sent was—
Chimeratech Overdragon.
That card—
Isn't that a Cyber Dragon-series Fusion Monster?
Wait, isn't he playing a "god-mix" meme Deck?
Why is there a totally random Chimeratech Overdragon in his Extra Deck?
Syrus Truesdale: "Ah! I'm getting more and more lost! What's he even aiming to use to break the board?"
Bastion Misawa: "I'm foggy too. Why would he run Chimeratech Overdragon? That monster's ATK goes up based on the number of Fusion Materials used, right?"
Zane Truesdale: "Heh… perhaps he too is a disciple of the Cyber style."
Jaden Yuki: "Good thing his Life Points were high. Back when those Sacred Beast Continuous Traps were up, he gained a bunch and got to 21,500. Otherwise paying 9000 like that would sting."
The Duel Academy students started chattering all at once.
Some said he was charging up a big finisher.
Naturally, some said he was humiliating his opponent.
As for what he was really going to do—
Only the "Collection of 12 Gods" inside the short clip knew.
...
Collection of 12 Gods: "Plaguespreader Zombie in my GY activates—return 1 card from my hand to the Deck to Special Summon itself."
Collection of 12 Gods: "Now I have two Level 2 monsters on the field."
"I overlay Plaguespreader Zombie and Gale Dogra."
"Xyz Summon—Herald of Pure Light."
"Herald of Pure Light activates. I detach 1 material to target a monster in my GY; add it to my hand. Then I choose 1 card from my hand and return it to the Deck."
"The card I add is—The Wicked Avatar."
"I activate Obelisk the Tormentor."
"I Tribute Obelisk and Herald of Pure Light."
"Destroy all your monsters."
No-shuffle CEO: "But my Deep-Eyes White Dragon has an effect—if this face-up card is destroyed by a card effect, it must activate."
"It destroys all monsters you control."
With the "death-trigger" explosion—
All monsters on the Collection of 12 Gods' field were destroyed and sent to the GY.
And the no-shuffle CEO's field ended up with no monsters as well.
They were both basically in empty-board states.
But the Collection of 12 Gods still had Yubel – The Loving Defender Forever on the field, which cannot be destroyed by effects.
Logically—
This would be where the Collection of 12 Gods' player should look very unhappy.
Weirdly—
The Collection of 12 Gods showed a strange smile.
He looked very satisfied with the Bride being destroyed.
That confused all the duelists—and even his opponent.
What on earth was he trying to pull?
Collection of 12 Gods: "I banish The Revived Sky God from my GY to place Monster Reborn from my GY on top of the Deck—and then draw it."
Collection of 12 Gods: "I activate the Spell—Ancient Chant."
"Add The Winged Dragon of Ra from my Deck, then I gain an additional Tribute Summon this turn."
"I activate Monster Reborn to revive—Egyptian God Slime."
"I Tribute Egyptian God Slime to Tribute Summon The Wicked Avatar again."
"I lock your Spell/Trap activations for 2 of your turns."
"I flip my final Set Trap—Rebirth Judgment."
"Once per turn, I can declare 1 Type. This turn, all monsters in both GYs become the declared Type."
"I declare Machine—everything in the GYs becomes Machine."
"I now activate the Continuous Spell—Millennium Revelation."
"I discard The Winged Dragon of Ra to add Monster Reborn back from the GY."
"I send Millennium Revelation to the GY."
"This turn, I can ignore conditions when reviving Ra."
"I activate the Spell—Monster Reborn."
"Come on then—the last god-card."
"It's your time to shine, Ra."
"The Winged Dragon of Ra."
"Then I activate Ra—pay 1000 Life Points to destroy The Wicked Avatar on my field."
"I pay another 1000—to destroy Ra itself."
"Now the GY effect of The Winged Dragon of Ra – Immortal Phoenix activates."
"Immortal Phoenix is Special Summoned—then I pay 1000 to send Yubel – The Loving Defender Forever to the GY without destroying."
"Then I pay 1000 again to send Immortal Phoenix itself to the GY."
"Ragnarök of the Gods—officially begins."
"Hahahaha....."
???
He's insane?
He's definitely insane.
What was that last sequence even doing?
He successfully Summoned Ra—
Then used Ra's effects to keep burning his own Life Points—
Just to clear his own monsters.
Huh?
What kind of bizarre line is this?
In the Duel Monsters world—
The old guard felt their "god-card" worldview about to explode.
"He's a madman. A complete madman. Summoning a god-card just to wipe your own board—what the hell!"
"So that's what 'Ragnarök of the Gods' means! He's sending all his gods to the GY?"
"So what is he trying to do, exactly? My brain's going to explode. I can't figure it out at all!"
"Right? And he just turned both GYs into Machine-Type. I'm already numb."
Yugi Muto, Marik Ishtar, Seto Kaiba, and the others all dove into discussion.
The more they discussed it, the more they felt the man before them was a madman.
A complete madman.
The King even wanted to shout at him to stop.
This wasn't a Duel anymore.
This was profaning the dignity of the gods.
Collection of 12 Gods: "Don't forget—the extra Normal Summon I used earlier was granted by Ancient Chant."
Collection of 12 Gods: "So."
"My Normal Summon is still available—I Normal Summon Dot Scaper."
"Use it to Link Summon—Linkuriboh."
"Dot Scaper activates in the GY and jumps back to the field."
"I use the two monsters to Link Summon—Clock Lizard."
"Clock Lizard activates. I Tribute it to return 1 Fusion Monster from my GY to the Extra Deck."
"Then, I banish from my GY the Fusion Materials listed on that card's text to Fusion Summon that Fusion Monster from the Extra Deck."
"The Fusion I choose—of course it's Chimeratech Overdragon."
"Then—let the Fusion begin."
"Become the materials for Overdragon."
"The gods' Ragnarök Fusion—sacrifice yourselves to create the true god-card."
"I banish from my GY—Slifer the Sky Dragon. Obelisk the Tormentor. The Winged Dragon of Ra."
"Uria, Lord of Searing Flames. Raviel, Lord of Phantasms. Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder."
"Armityle the Chaos Phantasm – Phantom of Fury. Armityle the Chaos Phantasm."
"The Wicked Avatar. The Wicked Eraser. The Wicked Dreadroot."
"Odin, Father of the Aesir. Loki, Lord of the Aesir. Parasite Fusioner is treated as 'Cyber Dragon'....."
"All of them—banished as Fusion Materials."
"Appear—!"
"The true master who rides the god-cards—the true deity."
"Chimeratech Overdragon."
"At the same time, by its self-restricting text, everything on my field other than this card is banished."
"Battle Phase."
"31,200 ATK—the true god. Wipe everything out."
"The Duel—is over."
Madman.
A genuine madman.
Right now—
Duelists across all six worlds were trembling.
This thought burst into everyone's mind.
And this madman—
Was not an insult.
It was praise.
The Overdragon before their eyes—
Was a madman's masterpiece.
The old guard's eyes were all filled with terror and dazed shock—then awe and utter astonishment.
They couldn't believe that everything up to now—
Had existed just to fulfill the birth of this madman's final magnum opus.
Even more unexpected—
Overdragon—
Would become the true ace that masters the gods.
Each of the sacrifices within it—any one of them would be earth-shattering in their eyes.
Is the Duel… really over?
