"Lin Hao…?"
Son Goku muttered silently, committing the name to memory.
"You're really strong, I could feel it just now! My blood is boiling already. Let's fight!"
Hearing those words, Lin Hao smiled faintly. As expected of Son Goku the man was a pure battle maniac.
Lin Hao wasn't surprised that Goku accepted so readily. It was the nature of all Saiyans: their blood burned for battle. Even half-Saiyans like Trunks couldn't resist the instinct to test themselves against strong opponents.
"Good! Then let me see the strength of the warrior who defeated Frieza!!"
Lin Hao raised a hand, hooking his finger at Son Goku, signaling for him to attack.
"Alright, then I won't hold back!"
"Ahhhhhh!!"
Goku spread his arms, legs bent, and let out a loud roar as golden flames erupted from his body. In an instant, his black hair stood on end and turned golden, his eyes turning emerald green. The earth quaked violently under the pressure of his aura, and the winds lashed outward in a violent storm.
"Boom!!!"
Rocks levitated into the air before exploding apart under the sheer force of the transformation.
"This is… so strong! Mr. Son Goku can now enter Super Saiyan form instantly!" Trunks clenched his fists in excitement, but at the same time, unease gnawed at him.
Because he had already sensed Lin Hao's aura at close range. Compared to Goku's current Super Saiyan power, Lin Hao's ki felt at least twice as deep, more vast, more overwhelming.
Even though he himself was a Super Saiyan from the future, Trunks couldn't help but feel suffocated. Against Son Goku he could still stand firm but in front of Lin Hao, his confidence wavered.
"Oh? So you've mastered Super Saiyan transformation to this degree already?"
Lin Hao stood calmly with arms crossed, watching Goku's golden aura rage around him.
"I only felt a glimpse of your aura earlier, but now I understand. You're far above the average Super Saiyan… And yet…"
"I know I may not be stronger than you," Son Goku said, eyes locked onto Lin Hao with a burning will, "but that doesn't matter. What matters is testing my limits! So let's go all out!"
Lin Hao didn't respond with words. He simply smiled and shifted into a fighting stance. Unlike Goku, he had not transformed into a Super Saiyan. He wanted to measure Goku's true growth since Namek with nothing but his base power.

Before he could finish the thought, Goku blurred forward with sudden speed, his golden aura leaving afterimages across the battlefield.
"Bang!!"
Their fists met in a blinding clash, sending shockwaves that split the clouds above and shattered boulders below.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!!"
The two figures vanished and reappeared across the sky, exchanging blow after blow at lightning speed. Every collision released concentric shockwaves, blasting the air apart like thunderclaps.
Mountains in the distance trembled, and entire peaks cracked and crumbled under the stray energy waves. The ground itself split apart, forming spiderweb-like fissures that spread across the battlefield.
And yet, despite the destructive power of their blows, both warriors controlled their ki with terrifying precision. If either of them unleashed their full aura recklessly, the Earth itself would already have been destroyed.
Lin Hao was enjoying this battle immensely. Compared to the earlier fight against Frieza, which had been a one-sided domination, this clash with Son Goku was something entirely different. Against Frieza, Lin Hao had felt no pressure just raw superiority. But with Goku, he was actually learning. Every exchange, every feint, every counter added to his own combat knowledge. The famous instinctive adaptability of Son Goku, honed through countless life-and-death battles, was now becoming a priceless experience for Lin Hao as well.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Their fists and feet collided at blinding speed, creating violent shockwaves. Their figures flashed through the sky, vanishing and reappearing like bolts of lightning. From the ground, it was nearly impossible for the Z-Warriors to follow their movements.
Even Tien Shinhan, whose third eye granted him sharper perception, struggled to keep track. He could only trace the rippling sonic booms cutting through the sky, his gaze darting to follow the afterimages left behind.
"Their speed… their power… it's beyond what we can even register!" Tien muttered, sweat beading on his forehead.
Krillin gulped, clenching his fists. "Yeah! And remember Goku's already a Super Saiyan, but Lin Hao hasn't even transformed yet!"
Piccolo's expression hardened. "That's right. If Lin Hao can push Goku like this without transforming, then once he does transform… Goku won't stand a chance."
Trunks said nothing, but his fists tightened at his sides. Having fought Frieza himself in the future, he knew how overwhelming Super Saiyan power could be. And yet, the pressure Lin Hao gave off was far beyond anything he had sensed before.
Finally, in the midst of a high-speed clash, Goku grinned. "Heh… Lin Hao, I've figured it out. While we've been fighting, you've been copying my moves, haven't you?"
Lin Hao smirked, deflecting another blow with casual ease. "Exactly. My raw power surpasses yours, but it's so overwhelming I can't fully control it. So instead, I've been learning from your techniques and combat rhythm. It's the best way to sharpen myself."
"Haha! That's what makes this fun! But now I want to see what you can really do. Show me your full power!" Goku's eyes gleamed with excitement.
Lin Hao shrugged, then nodded. "Alright then. Since you want it so badly, I'll show you."
"Ahhhhhh!!!"
Lin Hao planted his feet, fists clenched at his sides as his aura erupted. His ki surged upward, shaking the heavens. Slowly, steadily, his energy climbed higher and higher until his body was engulfed in golden light. His black hair flashed into a blazing gold, his eyes turning emerald green the unmistakable form of a Super Saiyan.
"BOOM!!!"
A golden shockwave blasted outward, rattling the earth and causing the air itself to ripple. The sky seemed to warp under the sheer density of his energy.
Goku's eyes widened. "So this… this is your Super Saiyan form? Incredible…! That aura is enormous!"
Lin Hao smirked. "No. Don't misunderstand. This isn't my full power. I've simply raised my energy to your level. That's enough for now. Any more, and the Earth wouldn't survive."
With that, Lin Hao vanished.
"Whoosh!!"
"BAM!!!"
In an instant, his fist slammed into Goku's guard, sending the Saiyan warrior hurtling backward. Goku skidded across the ground for several hundred meters, his boots carving two deep trenches into the earth before he finally managed to stop.
"Haaah…! My arms are numb… You're even stronger than I thought!" Goku flexed his fingers, then grinned even wider. "This is amazing! I haven't felt this alive since my fight with Frieza!"
Throwing his head back, Goku roared.
"AHHHHHHHH!!!"
His golden aura blazed upward, doubling in intensity as he dug deeper into his Super Saiyan power. The ground beneath him shattered from the pressure, fragments of rock levitating before disintegrating.
Lin Hao hovered above, looking down calmly at the glowing warrior below. "Oh? So you still have more left in you. Is this the full extent of your Super Saiyan power? Good. Then the real battle begins now."
With a sudden burst of energy, Lin Hao clenched his fists, his aura flaring violently—denser, hotter, and sharper than Goku's. The air trembled as if reality itself strained to contain their power.
