Chapter 32 - 32

The third building was cleared.

Cecil had 135 MP, so animating the Spawner was out of the question.

But the whole point of swarming the buildings was to stop the Spawners.

So the third building was not cleared.

"You lot, any ideas?"

Cecil turned to the small squad of Bellids, Silk Serpents, Cyrus and the Daggers.

Was he expecting a reply?

Honestly,

No.

But Cyrus walked forward, And his tongue darted out. Cecil thought that he was going to lick him.

Then he remembered that Lions are technically cats, and cats don't usually do that. Maybe if they really like their owner they do?

...

Burning question that needs to be googled immediately.

Cyrus swallowed the Third Spawner.

A Silk Snake spawned inside his stomach, and tried to crawl out the hole on his side.

Cyrus' tail was bathed in lightning—

*BZZZZZTT*

—And plugged into his stomach.

"Cyrus, did you just..."

(Mob grinder, Approved.)

"Nevermind. Let's go."

The rest of the buildings were much easier.

Even if Cecil's 'squad' was outnumbered about 5 times, the Silk Snakes were not a real threat.

Two Silk Serpents could deal with Three Silk Snakes, The Bellids flew around, and made sure that the squad was not surrounded.

Cyrus was just doing his own thing.

Like a beast, he tore through hordes of Silk Snakes and the Daggers... They didn't seem to do much work? They did kill a lot, but it felt mad inefficient.

(I need to fix this battle formation)

It's ain't broken, but he's gonna fix it.

He Levelled up a bit, and animated a few more Spawners, and with that, the eighth Building was cleared too.

Another thing Cecil forgot was the Belids.

His original plan was to keep them as spies capable of sharing their vision with him.

But because the entire sequence of fighting an uncountable horde pumped him with mind numbing adrenaline, Cecil was not thinking at full capacity.

Right now, the Belids and Silk Serpents had eradicated all the Silk Snakes, and were killing all newly spawned ones, so Cecil could strategize.

After all, Cecil's entire belief that he could catch upto already established Binders was based on the fact that his intelligence could make up for the lack of personal strength.

Firstly, Cecil fixed the battle Formation.

Cyrus was kept at a moderate distance because he could single handedly wipe out a large number of enemies.

"Cyrus, show me all of your skills, one by one. Oldest to newest."

(I hope he understands the concept of age...)

He did not understand the concept of age.

Cyrus had four skills, and he activated all of them.

Simultaneously.

Towards the fourth building.

The first skill was the homing lightning balls that Cyrus shot from his mouth.

The second skill was just covering a part of his body in Thunder, which he seemed to only do it on his tail.

The third skill was just growing wings of thunder.

The last skill was by far the most interesting.

Cyrus stood in one place, and a disc of thunder formed around him, growing larger the longer he stood in place. When he started moving, the disc began shrinking gradually, until it disappeared completely.

The last skill had a really outrageous damage output. When the ring was 8 feet in all directions, Cecil had to stay atleast 40 feet away, or he would get a small electric shock.

Getting hit by that thing cannot be risked, especially since it took it less than 2 seconds to grow from nothing to 8 feet.

And Cecil had no guesses as to how large it could be.

Cyrus could now be used as a tactical nuke.

"Alright, Cryrus is done. You three."

Cecil turned to the three daggers curiously floating around the Silk Serpents.

"Do you have any other skills other than the ones I know about?"

The daggers stopped looking at the Silk Serpents, and floated near Cecil instead.

This will take a while.

Another thing Cecil didn't realise was the Belids.

They were supposed to telepathically tell him their scouting details.

They were nowhere in sight, so they were definitely scouting, but he didn't feel anything.

At all.

"All of you guys, return."

In a while, all the Belids returned, and the daggers looked really happy.

"Why does telepathy not work?"

Cecil spoke aloud as he grabbed a smaller Belid and looked at it closely.

the teeth at its center closed, and it just stopped moving.

Cecil touched the smaller spikes on the Belid. They felt like.,

"This is just plastic."

Cecil then tapped the side of the larger spike.

His skin was punctured, and he dropped the Belid.

[You have Bound 1 Belid]

"Ow. What?"

He pulled up the system notification when he created the Belid.

[Nightmarish creatures, shaped like a Barbed Disc, with a Mouth in the middle. Each of the spikes is a piece of equipment, called the Belid Soul Stabbing Needles. Each Belid has one Larger Spike, called the Binding Thorn. Whoever drops a drop of Blood in the Binding Thorn becomes the undisputed master of the Belid, and gains a telepathic connection with it.Higher Levelled Belid can take on a human form.]

"What the fuck? It was definitely not here when I read it!"

Almost instinctively, Cecil checked his wrist. No watch. It would be wierd if he had a watch, considering that he was supposed to be sleeping when he entered the Breach.

In the academy, Cecil had learnt that the World inside every breach is on another planet.

Yes, more than one guy took a telescope to a Breach expedition.

The point is, because a Breach is on another planet, a lot of things are different.

Gravity is changed, for Cecil, the effect is not obvious.

Oxygen levels are also different. Here, the air feels a bit thin, but that is probably because he is inside a cave.

And lastly, and the most dangerous. The number of hours in a day.

This is the main concern of most Breach explorers, because your body's internal clock is dependent on the star orbiting the planet.

Starving unconciously, not registering thirst, sudden energy or sleepiness, and the like.

One of the easiest ways to prevent a lot of these is a wristwatch or stopwatch.

Cecil checked his pockets.

He didn't bring his phone either.

"I'm so fucked."
