As for veryone of my readers who wants Psycho-Gold, don't worry it will return in future as I am working on some ideas related to it's return.
Chapter 15: The Sentinel's Return
Revelations and Reunions
The two cloaked figures stood in the center of the command center, their mysterious presence creating an atmosphere of anticipation among the assembled Rangers. Naruto stepped forward with a slight bow of respect.
"Everyone," he said formally, "I'd like you to meet Mack Hartford and Rose Ortiz—the former Red and Pink Operation Overdrive Rangers."
The man lowered his hood, revealing the determined features of someone who had faced impossible odds and emerged victorious. Beside him, the woman did the same, her elegant strength now visible along with eyes that had seen both triumph and loss.
"It's an honor," Mack said, nodding to the SPD team. "We came as soon as we received Naruto's call for help."
"The threat you're facing isn't just dangerous," Rose added, "it's personal for us too. We've battled Moltor and Flurious before, and we know how destructive they can be."
Kruger stepped forward, his commanding presence filling the room. "Any allies willing to stand against evil are welcome here. But I have to ask—how long can the guardian spirit within that blade maintain its current form?"
All eyes turned to the golden sword, which began to pulse with increasing intensity. The ancient runes along its surface flowed like liquid gold, and suddenly the weapon began to transform.
Light erupted from the blade as it took on a humanoid shape, growing and solidifying until a magnificent figure stood before them. The Sentinel Knight's form was both ethereal and powerful—a being of pure energy contained within knightly armor that seemed to be forged from starlight itself.
"Long enough to see justice done," the Sentinel Knight declared, his voice carrying the weight of countless battles fought in the name of good.
Naruto immediately dropped to one knee, his head bowed in the traditional student's greeting. "Master, it's been too long."
The other Rangers exchanged surprised glances as the Sentinel Knight placed a glowing hand on Naruto's shoulder.
"Rise, my former student. You have grown strong since our time together."
"Former student?" Jack asked, bewildered.
Naruto stood, his expression carrying a mixture of pride and reverence. "Before my cadet days at SPD, I spent three years training under the Sentinel Knight. He taught me about the Morphing Grid, about the deeper connections between all Rangers across time and space."
"Those lessons served you well," the Sentinel Knight observed. "Your message spoke of ancient evil returning—Thrax, and with him the brothers of flame and ice."
"They're enhanced now," Naruto explained grimly. "Mechanical upgrades that make them more dangerous than ever. Master, we need your help. Earth needs your help."
The Sentinel Knight's ethereal features hardened with determination. "Then you shall have it. Thrax was destroyed by my hand once before—if he dares to threaten the innocent again, I will ensure his defeat is permanent this time."
Before anyone could respond, alarms began blaring throughout the command center.
The Return
"Multiple high-energy signatures detected in New Tech City," Kat announced, her claws flying over the sensor controls. "It's them—Thrax and his allies are back!"
The main viewscreen flickered to life, showing the three mechanical warriors standing in the city's central district. This time, they weren't searching—they were making a statement, their mere presence causing civilians to flee in terror.
"Rangers, deploy immediately," Kruger commanded. "We can't let them establish a foothold in the city."
"Commander," Naruto said, turning to Kat, "how long until our regular morphers are repaired?"
Kat's expression was apologetic. "At least another eighteen hours, possibly more. The damage from your last encounter was extensive."
Naruto looked at his B-Squad teammates, who were still showing the effects of their earlier use of the Prime Morphers—pale, slightly shaky, their energy reserves clearly not yet recovered.
"Mack, Rose," he said, turning to the Operation Overdrive Rangers, "I hate to ask, but—"
"We're in," Mack said immediately. "This is why we came."
"You don't have to ask," Rose added, checking her morpher. "We've been waiting for a chance to settle the score with those two."
"We can help too," Jack protested, struggling to his feet despite his obvious exhaustion. "We're not out of the fight."
"You need to recover," Naruto said firmly but kindly. "The Prime Morphers took more out of you than you realize. This is what teamwork means—knowing when to rely on your allies."
Kruger nodded in agreement. "Naruto's right. You'll be more help to us fully recovered than pushing yourselves beyond your limits now."
The Orange Ranger turned to his former master. "Sentinel Knight, are you ready to fight alongside us again?"
"It would be my honor," the ethereal warrior replied. "But I will need to return to blade form to accompany you into battle."
"Then let's go," Naruto said, activating his morpher. "SPD Emergency!"
"Overdrive Accelerate!" Mack and Rose called out in unison.
"SPD Emergency!" Kruger added, transforming into the Shadow Ranger.
As the Sentinel Knight reverted to his sword form and attached itself to Naruto's belt, the four Rangers teleported to New Tech City, ready to face the enhanced threat.
Battle in the Streets
The confrontation began the moment they materialized in the city square. Thrax stood at the center, flanked by his mechanical brothers, their enhanced forms crackling with elemental energy.
"Well, well," Thrax sneered, his voice carrying across the plaza. "My dear cousin has brought friends. And what friends they are—the very Rangers who defeated you before, brothers."
Robo-Moltor's flames burned higher with recognition. "The Red and Pink Overdrive Rangers. How delicious. This time, we'll finish what we started."
"You should have stayed defeated," Rose called out, her Overdrive Tracker ready. "We beat you once, we'll do it again."
Robo-Flurious laughed coldly. "Foolish Rangers. We are no longer the beings you faced before. We are perfection—organic power enhanced by mechanical precision."
"And I," Thrax added, drawing a new weapon to replace his mother's destroyed staff—a blade that crackled with dark energy, "have learned from our previous encounters. You will not catch me unprepared again."
The Sentinel Knight's voice echoed from the sword at Naruto's side. "Thrax, son of evil, you were destroyed once by my hand. Submit now, and your end will be swift."
"The great Sentinel Knight!" Thrax mocked. "Reduced to playing sword for my pathetic cousin. How the mighty have fallen."
"The only thing falling today will be you," Naruto replied, drawing both his Dragon Blaster and the Sentinel Knight's blade form. "This ends now."
The battle erupted with tremendous force. Naruto engaged Thrax directly, the Sentinel Knight's blade clashing against the dark weapon while his Dragon Blaster provided covering fire. The sword sang with righteous energy, each strike carrying the power of ancient justice.
"You fight well with my blade, student," the Sentinel Knight observed as Naruto parried a particularly vicious strike from Thrax.
"I had the best teacher," Naruto replied, spinning into a combination that forced Thrax back several steps.
Meanwhile, Mack and Rose worked in perfect synchronization against Robo-Moltor. Their experience as a team showed in every coordinated attack, every perfectly timed defense.
"You remember this combination?" Mack called out as he fired his Drive Lance at Moltor's heat sensors, the weapon's blade extending to strike at the fire warrior's enhanced armor.
"How could I forget?" Rose replied, using the distraction to strike with her Drive Geyser, the liquefied laser blast finding a gap in Moltor's enhanced armor.
"Impossible!" Robo-Moltor roared, his flames burning even hotter in frustration. "My upgrades should make me immune to such tactics!"
"Maybe," Rose said with a slight smile, "but they don't make you any smarter."
Commander Kruger faced Robo-Flurious in a duel that showcased two entirely different fighting philosophies—the disciplined technique of the Shadow Ranger against the chaotic brutality of the enhanced ice warrior.
"You fight with honor," Flurious observed as their weapons locked, ice and shadow energy crackling between them. "It will make your defeat all the more satisfying."
"Honor is not a weakness," Kruger replied, his Shadow Saber blazing with increased power. "It's the source of true strength."
For several minutes, the battles raged with neither side gaining a decisive advantage. But as the fight continued, it became clear that Naruto and his allies were slowly gaining ground through superior teamwork and strategy.
Then Naruto made his move.
"SPD Emergency—Prime Power!"
His orange morpher blazed with enhanced energy as he transformed into his Prime Ranger form. The inverted colors and increased power output were immediately apparent as his speed and strength increased dramatically.
"Now we're getting somewhere," he said, pressing his attack against Thrax with renewed vigor.
The tide of battle began to turn decisively in the Rangers' favor, but just as victory seemed within reach, additional combatants joined the fray.
Reinforcements and Retreat
From the shadows emerged Broodwing, followed by a small army of Krybots that immediately began harassing the Rangers and providing cover for the villains.
"Time to go," Broodwing announced to Thrax and the others. "Gruumm has plans that require your continued existence."
"Retreating so soon?" Mack called out as he destroyed two Krybots with a single shot.
"Strategic withdrawal," Thrax corrected, his voice carrying frustrated rage. "But this isn't over, cousin. Not by a long shot."
"Run while you can," Naruto replied, though he could feel the Prime Morpher beginning to drain his energy reserves. "Next time, we'll be ready."
As smoke grenades deployed by the Krybots filled the area, Thrax and his allies vanished, leaving the Rangers to deal with the remaining mechanical soldiers.
Within minutes, the plaza was clear, and the four Rangers stood victorious but thoughtful.
"That was too easy," Rose observed. "They're planning something bigger."
"Agreed," Kruger said, surveying the battle damage. "This felt like a probe, a test of our capabilities."
"Then we'd better make sure we're ready for whatever comes next," Naruto said, feeling the strain of the Prime Morpher starting to affect him.
Planning and Preparation
Back at Delta Base, the team gathered in the command center to debrief and plan their next moves. Naruto, while tired from using the Prime Morpher, was in significantly better condition than his B-Squad teammates had been—his dragon-fox heritage providing enhanced recovery abilities.
"The enhanced versions are definitely more dangerous," Mack reported. "But they're not invincible. Their mechanical upgrades also create new vulnerabilities."
"Moltor's thermal sensors can be overloaded with the right frequency modulation," Rose added. "And Flurious's ice generation systems have a limited cooling capacity."
"What about Thrax?" Sky asked, looking more recovered than before.
"He's learned from his previous defeats," the Sentinel Knight observed, having returned to his humanoid form. "But his arrogance remains his weakness."
Naruto looked thoughtful as he studied the tactical displays. "I have an idea, but I'll need both your help and Kat's expertise to make it work."
"What kind of idea?" Kat asked, her scientific curiosity piqued.
"Something that will give us an edge they won't expect," Naruto replied mysteriously. "But I need some time to work out the details. Kat, Sentinel Knight—can I count on your assistance?"
"Always, my student," the Sentinel Knight replied.
"Of course," Kat added. "Whatever you need."
As the three of them moved toward Kat's laboratory, the B-Squad Rangers found themselves alone with their Operation Overdrive guests.
"So," Bridge said, his natural curiosity taking over, "what was it like being Rangers during the time of the Corona Aurora?"
Mack and Rose exchanged glances, then settled in to share their stories with their fellow Rangers.
Enemy Alliances
Meanwhile, in the depths of space aboard Gruumm's command ship, a meeting of evil minds was taking place.
"Broodwing," Gruumm rumbled as the arms dealer entered the bridge, "I trust your new associates proved... educational?"
"Indeed, Emperor," Broodwing replied with a slight bow. "Allow me to formally introduce Thrax, son of Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd."
Thrax stepped forward, his damaged armor bearing testament to his recent battles. "Emperor Gruumm. Your reputation precedes you."
"As does yours, young prince," Gruumm replied, his cybernetic eye glowing as it analyzed the newcomer. "The destruction of fifty planets is... impressive for one so young."
"I had good teachers," Thrax said simply. "And now I have need of new allies. The Rangers have proven more resilient than anticipated."
Behind him, Robo-Moltor and Robo-Flurious stood at attention, their mechanical enhancements clearly catching Gruumm's interest.
"Fascinating work," the emperor observed. "The fusion of organic power with mechanical precision. Who performed these upgrades?"
"Ancient technology," Thrax replied evasively. "Combined with resources from... various sources."
Gruumm nodded slowly. "Very well. Broodwing will provide you with additional support. I have a new monster that should prove... challenging for the Rangers."
From the shadows stepped a massive figure—Boxer, an oni-like creature with orange skin and massive fists that sparked with electrical energy. His boxing gloves were clearly enhanced with technological improvements.
"Boxer specializes in overwhelming single opponents," Gruumm explained. "His electrical discharges can overload Ranger morphers, and his speed rivals that of the most enhanced warriors."
"Excellent," Thrax said, his confidence returning. "Then let us test the Rangers' defenses once more."
The Second Wave
The next morning, alarms once again echoed through SPD Delta Base as sensors detected a massive energy buildup in New Tech City.
"They're back," Kat announced grimly. "And they've brought reinforcements."
The viewscreen showed Thrax, Robo-Moltor, and Robo-Flurious standing with the new monster, while Krybots materialized around them in unprecedented numbers.
"All Rangers, deploy immediately," Kruger commanded.
"SPD Emergency!" Naruto called out, transforming into his regular Orange Ranger form.
"SPD Emergency—Prime Power!" the B-Squad Rangers declared in unison, their inverted suits blazing with enhanced energy despite their earlier exhaustion.
"Overdrive Accelerate!" Mack and Rose added, their red and pink suits materializing around them.
The seven Rangers teleported to the battlefield, ready for what would prove to be their most challenging fight yet.
The Ultimate Battle
The battle that followed was unlike anything the Rangers had faced before. The enemy's strategy was clearly designed to divide and overwhelm through sheer numbers and tactical deployment.
Naruto found himself once again facing Thrax, their personal conflict adding emotional weight to every clash of their weapons.
"You've grown stronger, cousin," Thrax acknowledged as they traded devastating blows. "But so have I."
"Strong enough to beat you," Naruto replied, the Sentinel Knight's blade work in perfect harmony with his Dragon Blaster.
Meanwhile, the SPD Prime Rangers split their forces strategically. Syd and Z worked together against the endless waves of Krybots that Broodwing continued to deploy from the shadows, their enhanced speed and strength allowing them to handle multiple enemies simultaneously.
"There's too many of them!" Z called out as she destroyed her twentieth Krybot, only to see more materializing.
"We just have to keep them off the others!" Syd replied, her Delta Enforcer set to maximum power.
Jack and Sky coordinated their assault on Robo-Moltor, their enhanced Prime suits allowing them to withstand the intense heat that had overwhelmed them in their previous encounter.
"His cooling systems are working overtime," Sky observed as he dodged a flame blast. "We're pushing him to his limits."
"Then let's push harder," Jack replied, firing his Delta Enforcer in rapid succession while Sky provided covering fire.
Bridge faced the new monster Boxer alone, his psychic abilities working overtime to predict the creature's lightning-fast punches while avoiding the electrical discharges from its enhanced gloves.
"Tactical analysis suggests this creature is designed specifically to counter Ranger combat techniques," Bridge called out as he narrowly avoided a devastating uppercut.
"Then we'll have to improvise," came the reply from his teammates.
Mack and Rose engaged Robo-Flurious with the experience of Rangers who had faced this enemy multiple times. Their knowledge of his patterns and weaknesses allowed them to hold their own despite his mechanical enhancements.
"Remember the thermal differential tactic?" Rose called out as she dodged an ice blast.
"On three," Mack replied. "One... two... NOW!"
Their coordinated attack exploited a weakness in Flurious's cooling systems, causing him to stagger backward as his ice generation temporarily failed.
But despite their tactical successes, it became clear that the sheer number of enemies and the prolonged nature of the battle was beginning to tell. Even with the Prime Morphers, the SPD Rangers were starting to show signs of strain.
The Sentinel's Power
Naruto, fighting both Thrax and the growing exhaustion from his earlier Prime transformation, realized that conventional tactics wouldn't be enough.
"Master," he called to the Sentinel Knight, "are you ready?"
"I have been ready since the moment we arrived," came the reply from the sword. "Call upon my power, my student."
His regular morpher suddenly began to glow and shift color, transforming from orange to brilliant gold as he raised the Sentinel Knight's blade form high above his head.
"By the power of the Sentinel Knight, by the authority of justice across all time—EXCELSIOR!"
The sword blazed with golden light as it merged with Naruto's transformed morpher. Energy cascaded around him as his new form materialized in a spectacular display of power.
The SPD Orange Sentinel Ranger was a fusion of Naruto's Ranger powers and the Sentinel Knight's ancient authority. His suit retained its orange base but was now enhanced with magnificent golden armor plating that pulsed with inner light. The helmet's mouth piece had transformed from silver to gold, with golden lines appearing along the sides of his visor. His gloves became golden and noticeably thicker than his original white ones, providing enhanced protection.
Knight-style armored boots materialized on his feet, silver in front with orange panels on the sides. Most striking were the prominent gold knight-style chestplate and pauldrons that gave him a truly regal, warrior-like appearance while maintaining his distinctive SPD aesthetic.
In his hands appeared dual golden swords that could function both as blades and tonfas when needed, exclusive to this enhanced form. At his side, his Dragon Blaster had also transformed, now mounting enhanced targeting systems that combined SPD technology with the Sentinel Knight's ancient power.
"This is impossible!" Thrax snarled, his dark blade clashing against Excelsior and being pushed back by the sheer force of the combined power.
"Nothing is impossible when justice and honor fight together," Naruto replied, his voice carrying harmonic overtones from the Sentinel Knight's presence.
The tide of battle turned decisively. Naruto's enhanced form moved with speed and precision that completely overwhelmed not just Thrax, but all three of his enemies simultaneously. He engaged Robo-Moltor with his dual golden swords, their fire-proof coating allowing him to strike through the mechanical warrior's flames. Against Robo-Flurious, the enhanced Dragon Blaster's new targeting system pierced through the ice warrior's defensive barriers with surgical precision. And when Thrax tried to flank him, Naruto's enhanced reflexes and the Sentinel Knight's guidance allowed him to fight all three at once.
"Impossible!" Robo-Moltor roared as Naruto's golden blade carved through his supposedly impenetrable armor. "No single warrior should possess such power!"
"This is the power of justice united with courage," the Sentinel Knight's voice echoed through Naruto's transformed form as he parried Flurious's ice staff and simultaneously blocked Thrax's dark blade. "A lesson you should have learned long ago."
The three villains found themselves completely outmatched, their coordinated attacks falling apart under Naruto's overwhelming assault.
"Rangers, take care of Boxer!" Naruto commanded as he continued to dominate the battle against the three enhanced villains.
"RIC Cannon, judgement mode!" the B-Squad Rangers called out in unison as they combined their Delta Enforcers into the massive containment weapon. "Boxer, you are guilty of assault, destruction of property, and conspiracy against the innocent. Time to face justice!"
The energy beam struck Boxer directly, the monster's form being compressed and contained within an SPD containment card for later processing.
Seeing their primary weapon neutralized and faced with Naruto's overwhelming new power systematically defeating all three of their champions, the remaining villains began their retreat.
"This isn't over!" Thrax shouted as Broodwing's transport arrived to evacuate them, his armor cracked and sparking from Naruto's relentless assault. "I will have my revenge, cousin!"
"I'll be waiting," Naruto replied, his dual golden swords still blazing with righteous energy as he watched his enemies flee. "And next time, I'll be ready to finish this permanently."
Farewells and New Beginnings
Back at Delta Base, the aftermath of the battle brought both celebration and contemplation. The B-Squad Rangers had pushed themselves to their limits and were now recovering in the medical bay, while the captured Boxer had been processed according to SPD protocols.
Mack and Rose prepared to depart, their mission accomplished but their friendship with the SPD team firmly established.
"You know we're just a call away," Mack said, shaking hands with each of the Rangers in turn.
"The universe is a big place, but Rangers always find a way to help each other," Rose added with a warm smile.
"Thank you," Naruto said sincerely. "For everything. We couldn't have done this without you."
"You would have found a way," Mack replied. "You always do."
As the Operation Overdrive Rangers prepared to teleport away, the Sentinel Knight approached Naruto in his humanoid form.
"My student, you have grown beyond my greatest hopes," he said with obvious pride. "You are ready to face whatever challenges await."
"Will you stay?" Naruto asked hopefully. "The team could use your guidance."
"I will remain for as long as you have need of me," the Sentinel Knight replied. "In sword form, I can serve as both weapon and advisor. Together, we will ensure that justice prevails."
As the golden light of teleportation carried Mack and Rose back to their own lives, the Sentinel Knight transformed back into Excelsior, taking his place at Naruto's side.
"Well," Jack said from his recovery bed, "I guess we know what you were working on in that lab of yours."
"Just preparing for what I knew was coming," Naruto replied with a slight smile. "Thrax won't give up, and we needed to be ready."
"And now we are," Kruger observed, looking at the newly enhanced Orange Ranger with approval. "Whatever comes next, we'll face it together."
As the sun set over New Tech City, the Rangers knew that greater challenges awaited. Thrax was still out there, plotting his revenge, and the threat to all Rangers across time remained real.
But they also knew that they were stronger now—not just because of new powers or enhanced equipment, but because of the bonds they had forged and the allies they had gained.
The Sentinel Knight's presence reminded them that they were part of something greater than themselves—a legacy of heroism that stretched across all time and space.
Whatever darkness threatened the future, the light of that legacy would shine against it.
The battle for the very existence of Rangers everywhere was far from over, but they would face it with courage, honor, and the unbreakable bonds of teamwork.
Justice would prevail, as it always had and always would, as long as there were heroes willing to stand for what was right.
