Bombay, Mumbai India 1909
IT was an extra long journey as they spent 90 days on sea, with no stops!. It was all Amir's idea to do a one way journey by the way, and the ship needed no maintenance because they had Magic, the force of impossibilities!. The issue of food was handled by Amir so it was all a smooth journey.
They arrived at the port of Bomabay, it was a hectic unruly sight as the port was extremely crowded. While Aurora and Lisa held thier head high in anticipation of what was to come, Amir however, wore a gloom look, looking as if he didn't want to be there. The others; Lisa and Aurora noticed this and began to query him.
'What's wrong?' Aruora asked, snapping her fingers around his ear. He blinked continuously pulling himself out of his stream of thoughts.
'Yeah what's wrong?' Lisa added, seconding Aurora's questions.
'Nothing really' He said grunting.
'Is this Where you are from?' Aruora asked smiling.
Amir widened his eyes in surprised and then scoffed, 'How did you know?' he asked looking at the inquirer.
Aurora stuttered 'Uh.....' she then sighed accepting defeat.
'Someone told me' she answered in a low tone.
'Who, is it Lisa?' he asked turning to Lisa, who shrugged to indicate that she had nothing to do with it.
'What even is the big deal?' Lisa asked gazing at Amir, a piercing gaze that made him calm down immediately. He sighed and heaved heavily. 'I apologize for getting riled up, i am just on the edge' he said looking at Lisa.
She rolled her eyes and swerved her hands around, immediately the anchor on the ship rose and let down it's self automatically, A gangplank that laid by the side rose and placed it's self, from the ship directly to the docks.
'Now do you know your way around or do we need to find directions from another?' she asked smirking at Amir who immediately jerked up to action and quickly went down the plank signalling the girls to follow suit.
They looked at each other and chuckled, it was a comical event, They immediately went down the gangplank, following closely and staying at his tail.
He walked up intently to a man, seemingly an Indian, he was fondling a fish net when Amir tapped him to possibly ask a question. They conversed in hindi as Lisa and Aurora stood, exchanging glances, confused.
'Do you know any spell that makes you speak other languages?' Lisa whispered to Aurora.
'I don't know , let me find out' she replied and closed her eyes, breathing slowly her crucifix emitting a subtle Amber glow.
After some moments she opened her eyes and raised her hands, it was pulsing with energy, she closed it and muttered some words and opened it, revealing a grape fruit.
Lisa stared, bewildered she didn't actually expect there to be an actual spell for language translation...was this the true power of a Divine being of high power? She wondered whether Lilith's power would have a solution like this too.
The grape fruit was extra purple and extra shiny, glistening in the sun. There were multiple grape fruits on her hand, being held by a thin branch. She plucked one out and handed it over to Lisa, who was still gazing at her with her eyes wind open.
'So there really was a spell, huh?' lisa said taking the grape from her sister, Aurora smiled intently and nodded giggling.
'It's the power of an Angel, a direct messanger of God, anything is possible' Aurora said, beaming.
'Uh.....okay' Lisa said clueless on what to reply. She raised the grape and swallowed it whole. Aurora's smile bent into a frown, quickly. She was worried about her sister's choice of taking the grape as many scenarios unfolded in her head.
'You should be careful next time' she said as she munched on a grape too.
A feeling of light headedness surfaced and dissapeard as quickly as it came. Then suddenly she could Amir's word started unfolding, They could now understand him
'....so there are trains now?'
'Yes, but it is mainly used by the English people and the very rich Indians'
'So we take a train to Darjeeling? And that's all you know?'
'Yes my dear, regrettably but can you afford the train? It's a lot of rupees and pounds for a ticket'
' Oh don't worry we will be fine, thank you so much' Amir said finally and patted the man, going back to the girls.
'So uh... what's a train?' Lisa asked, immediately.
'What? You could understand Hindi! How?' he asked, shocked.
'Magic' Aurora whispered.
'So... a train what is it?' lisa asked again.
'So uh... how will i say this...a train is linked together. The wheels of rail cars have a rim that keeps them on the rails. A vehicle called a locomotive pulls most trains. A locomotive can be powered by an engine that burns Coal...' he blabbed, but the sisters couldn't understand what he was talking about so they exchanged glances waiting for the awkward moment to end.
'...so uh... that's it' he said finally, closing his speech but he was met with an akward silence immediately after.
'So..where is the train?' Lisa asked breaking the silence.
'Over at the station there, but we need a lot of money to board it, luckily we have the Queen's gifts' he said.
Later after, he went into the ships storage and hoisted up the golds into a bag he had prepared, the girls casted a protection spell on the ship and they left towards the train. This is Day 1 in India, they are in for an adventure. There is always something lurking in the corner.
