Chapter 10 - Blades in the Wilderness

The wilderness was not silent.

The cries of distant beasts echoed through the ruined forests, mingling with the rustle of leaves and the faint metallic smell of blood that never seemed to leave the soil. Luo Feng and Luo Zheng walked with steady steps at the heart of the Flame Team, their eyes scanning every shadow and movement.

For days now, they had been making money through beast hunts. The parts of high-grade monsters—fangs, scales, bones, and claws—were worth fortunes in the cities. Even the lowest-grade hides could fetch enough to feed an entire family for months. It was no wonder so many risked their lives here.

But for the twins, the wilderness wasn't only about money. It was the crucible where their strength sharpened. Every hunt, every kill pushed them closer to the warrior path they were destined to walk.

On this particular morning, the Flame Team had tracked a rare beast. Its footprints were deep, its scent heavy in the air. Luo Feng's breathing technique allowed his body to maintain peak condition, while Luo Zheng's system whispered warnings of danger, keeping them prepared.

"Azure traces," Gao Feng, the captain of Flame Team, crouched and touched the dirt. His eyes glimmered with excitement. "This… this might be a rare beast."

The team exchanged eager looks. Rare beasts weren't just money—they were the kind of prey that could change a warrior's entire career.

But rare beasts also attracted other hunters.

And soon, they weren't alone.

The Violent Wolf Squad Appears

A chilling laugh split through the trees.

"Well, well… what do we have here? The Flame Team."

The group turned to see over a dozen armed warriors emerging from the shadows. At their head was a man built like a mountain, his aura suffocating, his expression feral. His scarred face bore an uncanny resemblance to someone Luo Feng and Luo Zheng knew all too well.

Zhang Ze Hu.

The uncle of Zhang Hao Bai—the arrogant rich youth who had crossed paths with the Luo brothers back in the city.

His squad, the Violent Wolf Squad, was infamous. Brutal, greedy, and merciless. They had grown wealthy by slaughtering not only monsters but sometimes rival teams.

"You've got guts, Gao Feng," Zhang Ze Hu sneered. His cold eyes swept across the team before stopping on the twins. His lips twisted into a cruel grin. "And look at this… so it's true. You've taken in the two little bastards who humiliated my nephew."

"Ze Hu!" Gao Feng's voice was sharp. His hand went to his blade. "This is the wilderness, not the city. You want revenge? Fine—but don't drag your personal grudges into my team's hunt."

Zhang Ze Hu laughed, the sound wild like a wolf's howl. "Don't worry, Gao Feng. I'm not here for your miserable hides. I just want their heads." He pointed at Luo Feng and Luo Zheng, his voice cold. "Hand them over, and my Violent Wolves will let you go."

The Flame Team bristled with anger. Gao Feng raised his blade. "Impossible. They are my brothers-in-arms."

"Then you'll die with them," Zhang Ze Hu growled.

The Clash Begins

The wilderness exploded with violence.

Gunfire erupted as one of Zhang Ze Hu's marksmen aimed at a Flame Team warrior. The bullet screamed through the air, but before it could strike, a streak of silver light cut across its path.

Clang!

The bullet deflected harmlessly into the trees.

The shooter froze, eyes widening. The Flame Team turned at once, staring at Luo Zheng. In his hand floated an SS-grade flying knife, glimmering with deadly sharpness.

"You—" the marksman stammered.

Luo Feng smirked. "Didn't expect that, did you?"

Then he raised his hand, and three more knives shot forward, whistling with unnatural speed. They weren't thrown. They flew.

"Psychic masters…" Gao Feng's eyes widened in shock. The entire Flame Team gaped. Until now, no one had known the twins' true strength.

The Violent Wolf Squad, however, understood all too well.

"Kill them!" Zhang Ze Hu roared.

---

Unleashing Power

The battle turned chaotic.

Luo Feng's knives danced like vipers, slashing at enemies with impossible precision. Luo Zheng's flying knife spun in arcs of silver, cutting through incoming attacks and striking vital points.

The rest of the Flame Team fought desperately—blades against blades, blood against blood. But it was clear. The Luo brothers were the storm in the middle of it all.

Zhang Ze Hu's roar shook the battlefield. His massive war blade swung down like a thunderbolt, shattering trees and earth. He was a senior warrior, his raw power overwhelming.

But the twins weren't ordinary fighters.

Clang!

Two long blades crossed, blocking his strike. Luo Feng and Luo Zheng had both drawn their twin SS-grade sabers—though their aura was carefully suppressed, hiding their true sharpness. Sparks flew as steel clashed.

"You think your little tricks can save you?" Zhang Ze Hu snarled, his muscles bulging. "I'll tear you apart!"

His blade pressed down like a mountain. The twins gritted their teeth, holding firm. Their bodies vibrated with the impact, but their spiritual power surged, guiding their strength.

Then, in perfect synchronization, they unleashed.

Boom!

Twin blades slashed upward, forcing Zhang Ze Hu back a step.

The Flame Team gasped.

Even Gao Feng, a battle-hardened warrior, could hardly believe what he was seeing.

---

Law of the Jungle

Blood splattered the ground as warriors fell on both sides.

The Violent Wolf Squad, despite their reputation, couldn't stand against the precision and coordination of the Luo brothers. One by one, Zhang Ze Hu's men screamed as flying knives pierced their throats or blades severed their defenses.

But Zhang Ze Hu himself was a monster. His war blade cut down two trees in a single swing, forcing Luo Feng to leap aside while Luo Zheng's knife clashed against the steel.

"You brats!" he bellowed. "I'll kill you for Hao Bai!"

His rage made him reckless. And recklessness in the wilderness was death.

Luo Zheng's eyes turned cold. His flying knife shot forward in a blur of silver, striking Zhang Ze Hu's shoulder. Blood sprayed.

"Aghh!" Ze Hu staggered.

Before he could recover, Luo Feng's knives came from the other side, cutting across his leg.

He stumbled, roaring in fury, but it was too late.

The twins moved as one, their twin sabers glowing with killing intent.

Slash!

Their blades crossed through his chest.

Zhang Ze Hu froze, his eyes wide with disbelief. "No… impossible…"

The scarred warrior staggered, blood pouring from his mouth, before collapsing with a final crash.

The battlefield went silent.

The infamous Zhang Ze Hu of the Violent Wolf Squad was dead.

Aftermath

The Flame Team stood frozen for a moment, catching their breath. The Violent Wolf Squad's survivors lay dead around them, the stench of blood thick in the air.

It was Luo Feng who finally broke the silence. His voice was low, steady, but heavy with realization.

"This world…" He looked at his blood-stained blade. "There's no fairness. It's kill or be killed."

Luo Zheng's eyes were sharp, cold. "And we'll never be the prey."

The Flame Team exchanged glances. Awe, respect, even fear flickered in their eyes.

They had suspected the twins were talented. But no one had expected this. To cut down Zhang Ze Hu himself…

Gao Feng stepped forward, his expression solemn. "From today onward… the Flame Team stands stronger than ever. With the Luo brothers here, we won't fear anyone."

But deep down, Gao Feng also felt a chill. He understood what this battle meant.

The Luo brothers weren't just ordinary geniuses. They were monsters in human form. And soon, the world would learn it too.
