Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: A Future Yet to Be Written

After lunch, Ming Yu began his moving process. After the agreement was reached, the Principal seemed unwilling to let him stay a moment longer, constantly urging him with her eyes.

Ming Yu also felt a growing dissatisfaction in his heart; it wasn't him who asked to live here in the first place. But considering the difference in their combat power, he sensibly went to pack his things.

Fortunately, he hadn't been here for long, so he didn't have many personal belongings. A few simple cardboard boxes were enough to pack everything.

As expected, Kiana acted as the porter. In terms of strength alone, this little Kaslana girl could outmatch Ming Yu by three streets with one hand.

He was naturally unwilling to let go of this excellent labor force, even though he could move it himself. But with a good helper like Kiana around, he was happy to take it easy.

After accepting the fact that Ming Yu had to move out, Kiana and the other two quickly adjusted their emotions. Just as Ming Yu had said, it was only a change of residence; the friendship between the four of them wouldn't change much because of it.

Ming Yu's new residence was not far from Himeko's apartment, only a few dozen meters in a straight line, making daily meal-freeloading practically effortless. Compared to a certain Principal who would come all the way from nearly a kilometer away to freeload, his actions were already quite normal.

Originally, according to Theresa's intentions, his apartment was supposed to be arranged next to Welt's. But Ming Yu had rejected it in an incredibly serious tone.

He didn't want to accidentally discover some strange things and then hear something like "Star of Eden, Zeroth Power released" in the middle of the night.

If that happened, things would get really out of hand. At least for now, Welt was just an ordinary, excellent teacher to him. The Sovereign of Anti-Entropy was a level he could not yet come into contact with.

Using the key Theresa gave him, he opened the door to the apartment. The first thing he saw was a spacious living room, filled with furniture that was ninety percent new, all neatly arranged.

The coffee table was covered in a thin layer of dust, clearly indicating that some time had passed since it was last cleaned.

Apart from the standard-issue furniture of St. Freya, there were no items in the living room that could highlight the personality of the previous owner. The empty walls were like a blank sheet of paper waiting to be written on.

Signaling Kiana and the others to place the cardboard boxes in the corner of the living room, Ming Yu couldn't help but cough lightly. The dust stirred up in the air made him a little uncomfortable.

Taking a breath, Ming Yu said slowly, "Next is to buy supplies and clean the house. Thanks for your hard work, everyone~"

Without asking for Kiana and the other two's opinions, Ming Yu knew that with their personalities, they wouldn't refuse. As for a certain Principal, she was still eating dessert in Himeko's apartment. She wouldn't bother with such trivial matters. Her relationship with Ming Yu hadn't reached that level yet. At most, she would reimburse Ming Yu's "settling-in fee" in the name of the Far East Branch.

Kiana glanced at the room, which had a similar layout to Himeko's, and complained, "Ah~ such a big house, it'll take ages to clean~"

She still remembered the situation when cleaning Himeko's room; it couldn't be described as simply messy. Although the cleaning work for this house would certainly not be to that extent, it was still a considerable amount of work.

Glancing at Kiana's slightly reluctant face, Ming Yu said calmly, "Five bags of potato chips, any flavor you want."

Kiana's eyes immediately lit up. She pushed her luck, saying, "Ten bags!"

"Deal," Ming Yu agreed in one go. Since it could be paid for with the funds allocated by Theresa, he didn't feel the pinch at all.

Mei and Bronya exchanged a look, both seeing the helplessness in each other's eyes. They both thought of the same thing: with Ming Yu moving out, it would be even harder to control Kiana's mouth.

Hiyokumaru, holding the two swords, also had a rather strange look in her eyes, a hint of an indescribable emotion as she looked at Ming Yu.

After instructing Kiana and the others to wait in the living room, Ming Yu picked up a cardboard box full of books and went up to the second-floor bedroom, simultaneously signaling Hiyokumaru to follow with the two swords.

Originally, Ming Yu wanted Hiyokumaru to live with Kiana and the others in Himeko's apartment, but the little fox disagreed. Considering her current state, as the stability of the body created by the power of Jizo Mitama was yet to be determined, Ming Yu didn't insist.

While taking out a pen and paper to write a shopping list, Ming Yu asked without looking up, "What do you think of St. Freya? Are you getting used to it here?"

Hiyokumaru gently pursed her cherry lips and said, "Kiana and the others are very easy to get along with. Auntie Himeko seems a little serious, though."

In such a short time, these were the only conclusions she could draw. She didn't rashly say the word "used to it"; she felt there was no need to force herself in front of Big Bro Yu.

Nodding imperceptibly, this answer did not surprise Ming Yu. Perhaps because his own identity was unusual, Kiana and the others were very accepting of people with strange origins, lacking the usual barriers that ordinary people have.

As long as one treated them with sincerity, they would repay it with a sincere heart of their own.

"Then I'm relieved. Life in this era is not much different from the Previous Era. Although there's some gap in the level of technology, it shouldn't be difficult to adapt."

After a pause, Ming Yu said with some hesitation, "I've already spoken with Theresa. You can attend school here normally.

Whether you become a Valkyrie in the future or live as an ordinary person, both are possible. As for the issue of your identity, you don't need to worry, I'll take care of it.

That being said, I'd still like to hear your thoughts."

Since he had brought the little fox out, he naturally had to be responsible for her to the end. He couldn't just keep her locked inside Jizo Mitama as a tool. What he hoped for was for the little fox to have a new life of her own, not to be forever bound to the sword, Jizo Mitama.

To let Hiyokumaru live a normal life in this world and completely integrate into this unfamiliar society, a certain amount of social interaction was necessary.

To achieve this, a legitimate identity was indispensable for her. With Theresa as a backer, St. Freya was undoubtedly the best choice. Arranging an identity as a survivor of a Honkai incident would be simple, with no difficulty at all.

Although Ming Yu could decide all of this, he would still respect Hiyokumaru's opinion. If the little fox was unwilling, he would have to make other arrangements.

Hearing Ming Yu's words, Hiyokumaru's lost heart suddenly lit up.

Even after leaving the Stigmata Space and coming to the real world with Ming Yu, she had no concept of the future at all.

For her, returning to the present world was like witnessing a sea change. Fifty thousand years had passed, all the people she knew were long dead, and even her own name had become a part of an irretrievable past.

The future was just a word, desirable but unattainable.

But with Ming Yu, her future was a choice she could grasp, a blank canvas she could paint on as she wished.

Looking at the young man leaning over and writing before her, Hiyokumaru's eyes gradually moistened.
