Chapter 10 - Chapter Nine: The Emperor Descends

If my guess was right, Frieza and his army would arrive in about a month. With the time dilation in my spaceship, that gave us nearly a year to prepare. To keep balance, I made a schedule—half of us trained inside during the day, the other half at night. It wasn't perfect, but it let us push our limits without collapsing.

And still, even knowing it was coming, Frieza's arrival chilled me to the core. Before his massive flagship descended, five smaller pods broke through the sky—shaped like the one Vegeta used to land on Earth.

As they struck the ground, a familiar voice buzzed in my mind.

King Kai.

King Kai: "Careful, Bulma. These are Frieza's elites. The Ginyu Force. You'll remember them from your other timeline. Don't underestimate them."

I nodded to Krillin and Chiaotzu, both already tightening their stances. With Goku and Raditz still training inside the ship, it was just us three for now.

The Ginyu Force landed in formation, striking ridiculous poses. Krillin and I suppressed our ki, making it look like we barely scraped ten thousand in power level. They didn't take us seriously.

"Who fights first?" one of them jeered. The squat green one—Guldo—was shoved forward.

I was about to strike when he suddenly appeared on my left flank. My chest froze. Teleportation?

But he didn't move again—Chiaotzu had him in place, locked by sheer telekinetic force. Guldo's eyes bulged as he tried to hold his breath, veins throbbing in his head.

Guldo: "L-Let me go, you runt!"

Chiaotzu (calmly): "No."

With a flick of his fingers, Chiaotzu snapped Guldo's neck. The small alien collapsed instantly.

Recoome stepped forward, laughing like an idiot. He didn't last long—Krillin's Destructo Disk cut him clean in half before he could even finish his battle speech.

That sent Burter and Jeice charging forward, forcing Krillin and Chiaotzu to hold them off while I darted straight toward Captain Ginyu himself. I wasn't about to waste time—every second counted.

The fights were quick, brutal, and decisive. One after another, they fell. For the first time, I thought—maybe we can really change this future.

But then, the air grew cold.

A new ki pressed down on us like the weight of a mountain.

He looked like King Cold, but I knew better. This was Frieza.

The three of us attacked at once. At first, we matched him blow for blow—until his body shifted, sleek and smaller, his true form. His speed doubled instantly. Only Chiaotzu's psychic interference kept him off balance long enough for Krillin and me to land real hits.

Frieza laughed as we pushed our energy generators to the limit, multiplying our strength tenfold.

Frieza: "Impressive… I'll grant you that. You've forced me to use twenty-five percent of my power."

But he wasn't bluffing. His aura surged, and suddenly he was stronger than all three of us combined. Even then, with Chiaotzu straining to hold him down, we pushed harder. For a moment, victory felt possible.

Then Frieza's smile sharpened.

Frieza: "Marvelous! I haven't been challenged like this in years. Consider yourselves honored—you've made me go to fifty percent."

Our energy generators screamed under the pressure as we doubled our output again. Twenty times base power. It still wasn't enough.

Krillin fell first, then Chiaotzu, both bloodied but alive. I stood alone, trembling, my armor cracking.

And then—Vegeta arrived.

He dropped into the battlefield with his aura blazing, arrogance dripping from every word.

Vegeta: "Move aside, weaklings! This battle belongs to me. You're about to witness the power of a true Super Saiyan!"

Frieza tilted his head, unimpressed.

Frieza: "A Super Saiyan, you say? My, my, how quaint. You monkeys never tire of that old bedtime story, do you? The legendary warrior… destined to topple me. How delightful."

Vegeta snarled, veins bulging, power spiking as he cracked the ground beneath him.

Vegeta: "You feel it, don't you? My power eclipses anything you've faced before. The legend lives through me!"

Frieza chuckled softly, voice like silk and venom.

Frieza: "Oh, I feel something, Vegeta. But it isn't fear. It's pity. You've mistaken a growth spurt for divinity. Allow me to educate you."

His aura flared like a sun, suffocating.

Frieza: "This… is sixty percent of my power."

Vegeta's smirk faltered—but only for a second. He roared and lunged, throwing everything he had. Every blow was swatted aside with a single finger. Every counter left him reeling.

I forced myself back into the fight despite the pain tearing through me.

Vegeta (snarling): "Stay out of this! He's mine!"

Bulma (spitting blood): "He's not yours, Vegeta. He's death. And if you keep your pride, it'll kill you."

Vegeta gritted his teeth, but even he couldn't deny it. We fought together, but Frieza still toyed with us.

And then, salvation—Goku, Raditz, and Piccolo arrived, dropping Dende behind them. The young Namekian rushed to heal Krillin and Chiaotzu while the three Saiyans joined the fight.

For the first time, Frieza was outnumbered. Five against one. Then seven, as Krillin and Chiaotzu staggered back into formation.

At first, Frieza didn't notice how Dende was healing us. But as we kept rising again and again, his eyes narrowed. He smirked, raised a finger, and aimed straight at Dende.

I didn't think. I moved.

The blast tore through my stomach.

I hit the ground, choking on blood, barely conscious as Frieza charged another beam. But before he could release it, something shifted in the air.

Goku's ki spiked—violent, burning, unnatural.

The sky itself seemed to darken.

I tried to stand, but Dende's small hands pressed against my chest.

Dende: "Don't move. Let me heal you first."

But I already knew what was happening.

Goku's scream shook the heavens.

The true battle was about to begin.
