Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Lucian laid on his couch, eyes wide opened, thoughts

rolling in, flashes of the murders of different women, the judge and the crime scene of Job.

"Fuck you man" he said in a tone that showed

her was done trying to wait for sleep "why didn't your God prevent this from happening"

he continued as he walked towards the coffee maker that stood among other things

in his kitchen, "isn't he supposed to be….." he paused and took a gulp "The Almighty"

he finished, walking back to his couch but settling on the floor, going through

the files once again. Its been hours since Eve dropped this, he knew for a fact

that there was nothing new he was going to find.

Knock, knock it came from his door

"Why

would anybody knock on my door?" he pondered as he turned his gaze towards the clock,

it read 1:31am, he felt his heartbeat echoing,

his mind dished out only one answer

"Did I pressure you too much you had to bring

him to my house?" he said sarcastically, as he walked hurriedly into his bedroom,

picking up his phone he dialed the emergency line, moving fast he walked to his

drawer and pulled out a black box, as the

door burst open he brought out a gun and began to load it. From his previous encounters

it'd take seconds to walk from his living room to where he stood

"if he thinks he's gonna put me down as easily

as he did the rest, he's in for a big laugh" he thought to himself as he walked

into his bathroom, clicking his gun he heard

the intruder firing multiple shots into his room

"That was fast" he said as he prepared

to fire

"You

called the police I see" The voice said

"Police?"

Lucian was confused, wondering how they could have gotten here already

 "let's make this eas...."

Lucian

pulled the door open in a flash and shot multiple times blindly before the killer

would even think of retaliating. Closing the door shut, he reloaded his gun, even

though he had bet on being shot atleast once he was surprised to hear groans and

retreating steps. He paused to listen, to be sure he wasn't imagining things
