Chapter 132: Sorting Out the Current Situation and the Shepherd's Abilities
The memories from when he first woke up were very blurry; Lu Ze could no longer recall them. He only remembered a world of Distortion and Chaos, with terrifying ravings affecting him. Unable to move, he was carried on his sister Cecilia's back as they walked through the dark streets.
Once he became a bit more lucid, Lu Ze discovered he had arrived in Backlund. According to his sister, the Nighthawks had declared him dead and even held a funeral. However, his sister had insisted on digging up the grave and opening the coffin to pull him out.
As for the mastermind, Lu Ze only remembered the person's face but didn't know who they were or their purpose for doing all this. Whenever he thought of Dunn Smith and Klein Moretti, who died because of it, and himself, who had been played with like this, his heart burned with uncontrollable rage.
He would definitely find that bastard and kill him!
But before that, Lu Ze needed to resolve the issues with his own body.
Thinking of this, he looked down at the Straitjacket he was wearing.
The garment, made of sturdy white cloth, was bound with many strong black leather straps, each with a buckle. If all these buckles were fastened, Lu Ze would find it difficult to move... All of this was to prevent him from moving around and harming himself when his consciousness was in Chaos.
Indeed, Lu Ze's current mental state was unstable.
His current situation was complicated. The good news was that he had become a Sequence 5 Shepherd; the bad news was that due to the leapfrogging advancement,
he now had a large amount of undigested potion accumulated in his body, causing him to frequently fall into a semi-mad state.
However, relying on the illusory tide within him and occasional flesh and blood replenishment, he wouldn't lose control for the time being.

Besides that, Lu Ze's current financial situation wasn't great either. All his Beyonder items were gone, and he had lost his job with the Nighthawks, as well as that property in Tingen City.
That was three Beyonder items and a property... It pained him just to think about it.
But Lu Ze had no intention of blaming his sister, who had given up everything to bring him to Backlund.
"Resurrection from the dead" was too shocking, often described as a power of the gods. If Lu Ze foolishly returned to the Church,
what awaited him would certainly not be a happy ending. Not to mention he was already a Sequence 5 and had strayed further down the dangerous Beyonder pathway of the Secrets Supplicant.
So their best choice was to remain anonymous and start over in a new place.
"At least we're free now, right, Cecilia?"
He asked his sister with a smile.
Backlund was a mega-city with a large population and more opportunities.
"Yes, yes."
The young girl wiped his blood-stained mouth with a towel. "Then I'll go pack. We'd better leave quickly before someone reports us..."
After saying that, she went upstairs.
"Got it,"
Lu Ze replied, then sat alone in the living room, continuing to think.
There were currently several problems that needed to be solved:
First was the semi-mad state caused by the potions. Because the potion he drank was mixed with low-Sequence potions, he had a total of three potions to digest, including Sequence 7 Shadow Ascetic, Sequence 6 Rose Bishop, and Sequence 5 Shepherd.
The names and abilities of the relevant Sequences were obtained from Madam M during his time in Tingen.
Second, after arriving in a new environment, he was completely unfamiliar with the local Beyonder circles and needed to join similar gatherings as soon as possible to facilitate obtaining various information and Beyonder materials.
Finally, besides the semi-madness caused by the potions, he had a small mental issue: a woman's figure had suddenly appeared in his vision at some point.
Red hair and golden eyes, wearing a white robe, her face was beautiful yet eerie. Even though the room was dark, she appeared incredibly clear, as if light were shining on her.
"Why haven't you disappeared yet?"
Lu Ze gritted his teeth.
Madam M looked at Lu Ze and smiled gently, but did not speak.
Lu Ze leaped up, grabbed a table knife from the table, and casually stabbed it into her heart. His movements were too fluid, as natural as picking up a cup for a drink or scratching his face—it was just that matter-of-fact.
Warm blood quickly flowed down the knife onto his hands and arms. Madam M's face showed a pained expression, and then she fell backward.
She made no sound when she hit the ground.
Lu Ze blinked and found that he was the only person in the living room. He was still holding the knife, but there were no traces of blood on the back of his hands or his arms.
"Brother?"
He saw his sister poke her head out from upstairs, looking down with concern. "Are you having hallucinations again?"
"It's nothing,"
Lu Ze smiled. "Killing her over and over again is actually quite stress-relieving."
Since waking up, he had been seeing hallucinations of Madam M from time to time. She didn't speak, and others couldn't see or touch her; only he could interact with her. Although Lu Ze killed her repeatedly, she would keep appearing.
"Then let's not move tomorrow. Let's go to the Psychiatric hospital for a follow-up first."
The girl upstairs shook her head.
"I feel this is a mystical matter. Seeing a Psychiatrist won't help."
"We still need to see one. Let's try multiple methods."
"Alright, alright."
Lu Ze waved his hand. "Cecilia, you should go back inside, don't fall down."
After brushing off his sister, he slowly sat back on the sofa.
Aside from a pile of troublesome matters, the only good news was that he had become a Sequence 5 Shepherd, gaining the powerful ability to "Graze," as well as the Shadow abilities of Sequence 7 and the Flesh and Blood Magic of Sequence 6.
Sitting on the sofa, Lu Ze closed his eyes and felt the "lambs" within him.
A Sequence 5 Shepherd can Graze a total of seven souls. Perhaps because his spirituality was unstable when he died, most of the "lambs" grazed in the original potion had already dissipated, leaving only two souls in his body. One was the soul of a "Pyromaniac," while the other was a bit strange, buried deep within his flesh, unable to respond or be expelled.
Is it because I was forcibly promoted, causing problems with my body?
Lu Ze suspected that the Remnant soul was the reason Madam M kept appearing in his hallucinations. However, she was at most a wisp of a Remnant soul. Once his potion was fully digested and his state stabilized, he might be able to deal with it.
More importantly, he now had five empty slots. He wondered where he could find some lucky Beyonders to capture and Graze.
The Shepherd's strength lay in the ability to freely combine grazed abilities into powerful coordinated attacks.
In short, the immediate priority was to digest the potions, find Beyonder groups and circles, and then...
Just then.
The world slowly began to grow noisy, everything in the room began to deform, and mad ravings echoed from the dark corners, resonating with the restless potion inside him.
It was starting again!
"Cecilia!"
Lu Ze immediately shouted, calling his sister down from upstairs. With her help, he fastened the Straitjacket straps. Then, he once again fell into a mad hallucination.
