Chapter 65 - Do You Want a Wife?

"Is there a 'game becomes reality' segment now? How shameless."

Leon listened, his voice a bit weak as he replied.

This was the first time he'd ever felt so tired.

Even when fighting against Emanators before, he hadn't been this exhausted.

This "Causality" can't be used too often. It seems using it to soar like that is too taxing on the body.

"Then why did Fuli suddenly back off?"

Leon didn't understand.

"Who knows? Maybe they know to quit while they're ahead, or maybe they saw something in you, and

decided you were worth investing in."

Aha said cheerfully, offering a few possibilities.

The actions of an Aeon cannot be easily fathomed.

Higher-dimensional beings—heaven knows what's really going on in their minds.

"I don't know about Fuli, but I'm really starting to like you more and more, bro Leon!

No longer needing to put on the airs of an Aeon, Aha's tone and attitude returned to their usual self.

"Giving you that Memory Bubble was just to help you have a little epiphany, but I never expected you to pull off such a

huge spectacle for Aha!"

Aha laughed heartily.

"That was great! I loved it! Make sure you pull off more huge spectacles for Aha in the future, you hear!"

With that, Aha disappeared amidst laughter just like last time, leaving Leon with nothing but a ticket at his collar that had silently

turned a little more golden.

"What a maniacal Aha. Not only a chaotic thrill-seeker but also my collaborator. This is going to be trouble."

Leon sighed inwardly.

"Thank you, Reignbow Arbiter, for your aid!" xN

As his thoughts wandered, an earth-shaking chorus of thanks echoed in his ears.

Leon's attention was instantly drawn to it.

Including Ternan and La Mancha, three thousand four hundred and eighty-nine Galaxy Rangers bowed to him in unison, their voices ringing out!

"We will cherish this hard-won new life and carry out the will of The Hunt to the very end!"

La Mancha spoke nervously, conveying their gratitude as their representative.

Leon slung his bow back over his shoulder.

He looked at the scene before him without much reaction, merely nodding towards Lan.

Then he left, withdrawing his consciousness from the Memory Bubble.

Saying too much would ruin the persona of a senior figure. Just showing his face was enough.

Seeing this, the three thousand four hundred and eighty-nine Galaxy Rangers immediately drew their firearms and fired into the sky, the gunshots

ringing out like a salute, echoing through the clouds!

This was their way of showing respect to Leon, a farewell salute to this "Reignbow Arbiter"!

"Oh, leave it to me, brother. I'll make sure to return these 'Memories' to their original owners!

Boothill took it, his tone guaranteeing he wouldn't fail the mission.

The wasteland outside the Garden of Recollection.

Black Swan and Boothill both stood frozen in place, looking completely dumbfounded.

They unconsciously turned and looked at each other.

Then confusion set in, neither understanding why the other looked just as shocked.

"What's wrong with you?"

After a period of mutual silence, Black Swan was the first to ask.

"I felt the aura of The Hunt."

He was right there on the scene the last time the Reignbow Arbiter's arrow of light struck; Boothill couldn't possibly mistake it.

Damn it, what did Leon get himself into now?

How did he manage to summon Lan again? Playing for such high stakes?

Come on, bro, this is just invincible, isn't it!

To be able to summon an Aeon's true self time and time again... could you find a second person in the entire universe with that

kind of ability?

"And you? What's the deal with you?"

After answering, Boothill started questioning Black Swan.

"I sensed a momentary gaze from Fuli."

Black Swan never imagined his issue was also related to an Aeon.

"There's no doubt. They cast their gaze here just a moment ago."

After they finished speaking, both fell silent again, as if struck speechless by the bizarre

reality of the situation.

Boothill and Black Swan looked at each other with a silent understanding.

They just stared, each waiting for the other to voice the ridiculous hypothesis first.

"...Putting other things aside for now, at the very least, Lan and Fuli clearly weren't here for us. We can

confirm that much, right?"

In the end, it was Boothill who broke the silent atmosphere.

Black Swan nodded.

If they were truly being watched by an Aeon, it's impossible things would be this calm. It should have triggered some major upheaval,

at the very least.

It's like one of life's three great delusions.

Thinking an Aeon came to watch you just because you're the only one from their Path on the scene.

You can fool your buddies, but don't fool yourself.

"If, and I'm just sayin' if."

Boothill took a deep breath, trying to keep his voice steady. "If, damn it, both of those Aeons

came here because of one person?"

Black Swan fell silent for the third time in a short period.

Even though it was a hypothesis she wouldn't dare to dream of, it was undeniably the most likely

scenario at the moment!

Damn it, there were only three living people in the vicinity.

You didn't even need to think; a simple process of elimination told you who the two Aeons, The Hunt and Remembrance, came for.

Plus, Leon went to handle things alone.

With his Emanator-level power, causing a bit of a stir is normal, and an Aeon's gaze is just one part of that.

Normal my ass!

Black Swan couldn't fool herself.

What kind of Emanator can call upon their master for backup every time they act or run into trouble?

That's not an Emanator anymore, that's an Agent of the Aeons!

Leon being an agent is one thing, but he's acting as an agent for two of them at once!

Oh my god, this is terrifying!

To make even Fuli cast their gaze upon this place, Black Swan simply couldn't believe what he must have done!

"Hahaha."

After Boothill proposed the hypothesis, they looked at each other, and upon meeting each other's eyes, they both started laughing awkwardly.

"Haha... ha."

She really didn't dare to imagine it!

Two Aeons, appearing simultaneously, not one after the other. It felt like the person who could do that wasn't human,

or at least had to have a second personality.

One after the other would be outrageous enough, but compared to appearing at the same time, the former was easier to accept.

RUMBLE!!

A violent tremor suddenly erupted from the entrance to the Garden of Recollection!

"You two are laughing so happily. Did you think of something funny?"

After finishing the last of his business inside, Leon walked out from the shattered mirror, the exit of the Garden.

Phantylia followed closely behind him, and the sounds of his emergence drew their attention.

"Brother, brother, was that huge commotion just now your doing?"

Seeing him emerge, Boothill hurried forward to ask.

He obviously wasn't asking about the Garden breaking, but about the great commotion of two Aeons arriving.

"Yes, I did it." Leon didn't hide it.

"Damn it, what kind of huge spectacle did you pull off this time? What on earth was in that Garden that even an

Aeon was stirred?"

Boothill continued to ask.

"I went to kill a Lord Ravager."

Leon answered truthfully.

"What? A Lord Ravager? Brother, are you serious? Where did another Lord Ravager pop out from?"

Boothill trusted him completely, but what he was saying was still a bit unbelievable.

"What was the outcome of the battle against Zulo?"

Leon didn't answer, asking a question instead.

"Zulo?"

Boothill didn't understand why he was asking this.

"You mean that battle from many years ago? I heard it was resolved by an avatar of the 'Reignbow Arbiter' in the end."

"At the Galaxy Rangers' moment of crisis, an Emanator of The Hunt suddenly appeared on the scene, descending upon the world.

Zulo was soundly defeated at their hands."

"This Emanator appeared too suddenly, and the timing was just too perfect."

Boothill recalled for a moment and told him truthfully, "Plus, since no one ever saw him again after that, basically everyone came to believe the story about him being an avatar of the

Reignbow Arbiter."

"So this is 'Remembrance'?"

Leon muttered to himself in a low voice.

To elevate an altered 'Memory' into reality... this is the great power of an Aeon.

Honestly, Fuli had absolutely no reason to help him. He didn't understand why they acted, nor did he know

if there was some scheme behind it.

"What happened to those Galaxy Rangers afterward?"

Leon continued to ask.

"I don't know the specifics, but most of them died in the chase against 'Doctor Primitive'."

Boothill shook his head.

"Is that so..." Leon nodded.

The process before the ending can be changed, but the subject of death itself cannot be altered?

It's not surprising. When has a Ranger ever lived a peaceful life.

They basically live with their eyes closed, each day treated as their last. It's normal to die at any moment.

"Why are you asking about this?" Boothill asked, confused.

"Just curious."

"Brother, tell me the truth. What did you really sense in the Garden of Recollection just now?" Boothill asked,

extremely curious.

"It was just my imagination. Otherwise, would I have come out so quickly?"

Leon shook his head.

Black Swan remained silent the whole time, but her gaze never left him.

It's impossible that it was nothing.

An Aeon was drawn here. The probability of it being for nothing was smaller than her chances of defeating Leon.

What else was in that Garden...

Black Swan couldn't figure it out.

She really had thoroughly investigated the entire Garden.

At least, she personally could guarantee it.

The most valuable thing in this Garden, and the most likely to attract an Aeon's gaze, was the Memory Bubble about

Amphoreus in her hands.

Crack!

The cracked mirror completely shattered!

The sudden sound pulled her wandering thoughts back to reality.

Leon's fist struck the entrance and exit of the Garden, shattering the entire mirror frame in one blow!

He did what he said he would. Since he'd said before he would completely destroy this Garden, he definitely wouldn't leave any part of it standing.

"Alright, it's time to bring out the Memory Bubbles."

Having finished everything, Leon turned to look at her.

"Rest assured, I won't go back on my word."

Black Swan said, opening her palm where a purple prism-like object hovered.

"I've sorted through the Memory Bubbles. This container holds the bubbles of star systems that still exist."

Black Swan explained.

"As for the remaining ones from systems that have already perished, I would like to take them back to the 'Sudden Stillness'. Would you be so kind as to allow it?"

Black Swan's meaning was clear.

If you want them, she can give you the rest right now.

If you don't, then would you allow her to take custody of these 'Memories' and properly bring them back to the 'Sudden Stillness'.

"Take them."

Leon took the purple prism that floated towards him and calmly agreed to her request.

He only wanted the Memory Bubbles to return them to their original owners.

Perished systems meant there was no one to return them to. In this situation, it was obviously best for Black Swan to take them back to the 'Sudden Stillness'.

"Thank you for your understanding."

Black Swan breathed a sigh of relief.

Although Leon was clearly an approachable person, how could she not feel any pressure when dealing with an Emanator, especially one who had just drawn the gaze of an

Aeon?

"Alright, since everything's settled, let's all go our separate ways."

Leon said, handing the purple prism to Boothill. "It's all yours, brother."

"Remember to contact me if you get any information on Amphoreus."

"Okay."

Upon hearing this, Black Swan immediately conjured an artifact at her side, surrounded by floating cards.

"Please draw a card."

"What for?"

Leon was confused but did as she asked, drawing a tarot card.

"Please keep this card that belongs to you. It will make it easier for us to contact each other in the future."

Black Swan chuckled lightly and dismissed the artifact.

"Alright."

Leon tucked the card into his coat, placing it together with his jade abacus.

"Well then, until we meet again."

As soon as she finished speaking, Black Swan vanished, clearly having already departed.

"I'm off too. Let's meet again in the next storm, brother!

Boothill tipped his hat, smirked, and raised a hand as he turned.

Farewells between men don't need all that fuss.

As long as they're both still alive and walking the path of a Ranger.

Then they will surely meet again on the day the revolution succeeds.

"Take care."

Leon watched him board his ship.

At this point, he was the only one left at the scene.

"Do you know where Amphoreus is?"

After everyone had left, Leon asked his bow.

The bow gave no response.

"Looks like you don't know either."

That's strange. Could it be that Amphoreus has no oppression or injustice?

Really? Leon didn't believe it for a second.

"Are their counter-surveillance measures that strong?"

Even the super-intuition of The Hunt can't locate it. They must be masters of their own code.

"I'll just have to wait for Black Swan."

He wanted to go there right away while the trail was hot, but now it seems he'll have to wait for a solid lead.

"Sigh... on to the next stop."

Leon couldn't stay idle and decided to follow his bow to the next location to punish evil and promote good.

He was like a wandering traveler, drifting from place to place.

Just as Leon was about to leave, having barely taken a step, a white-blue light once again filled his vision.

He had arrived in a strange space.

And Fuli appeared before his eyes for the second time.

"Are you here to settle the score now that it's over?"

Leon faced their pressure head-on, neither retreating nor flinching as he asked.

Fuli did not speak, but their intention was transmitted directly into his mind.

"You're saying you have something you want me to keep safe?"

Leon asked, half-doubting: "Are you serious?"

Honestly, it was like they were asking if he wanted a free lunch.

What is this Aeon of Remembrance planning?

Fuli remained silent.

They didn't answer his question, but judging from the lack of any denial, they were likely serious.
