Chapter 226 - Chapter 226: The Wolflord Is Not the Wolflord

"Hmm hmm hmm~~~"

A Damselette's humming drifted through the dense jungle.

If one looked closely, they would see the Damselette surrounded by a pack of gray-white wild wolves, making one instinctively worry for her.

Besides the Damselette, two other people were also encircled by the wolf pack, but like her, they showed no signs of panic.

Xiangling hummed an unknown tune for a while, holding Guoba, then ran to Razor's side.

She pulled out a few pastries from her personal cloth bag and placed them into Razor's hand.

"Here, osmanthus cake, it's delicious."

Xiangling found Razor's bewildered expression quite amusing. Although these osmanthus cakes were meant for her junior sister Yaoyao, it was clear that Razor needed them more.

"Too sweet. Not good. Teeth will break." Razor took a small bite and immediately knew it wasn't his preferred food.

Besides potatoes and meat, no other food caught his eye. This time was no exception.

With that thought, Razor slightly tightened his grip, intending to crush the osmanthus cake and scatter it into the forest.

Even with food he didn't eat, Razor would scatter it into the earth; this was a tradition of the Wolvendom wolf pack.

However, just as he was about to do so, he suddenly felt an immense pressure emanate from beside him.

Razor turned his head and saw Guoba, whom Xiangling was holding, with tightly furrowed brows. His round, bear-like eyes were fixed on Razor's palm.

And at some point, a giant chili pepper had appeared in Guoba's hand.

Guoba held the green stem of the chili, gently tapping the tip of the pepper against his other bear paw, looking quite unapproachable.

"Gulp!" Razor, feeling Guoba's gaze, knew that if he scattered the osmanthus cake in his hand, something bad would definitely happen.

So, it's probably okay to occasionally eat something sweet, right?

As Razor put the osmanthus cake into his mouth, Guoba's intense gaze gradually dissipated.

"Sorry, Guoba hates wasting food the most!" Xiangling, seeing Razor choke, immediately stepped forward and handed him a waterskin.

"Hoo—, hah!" Razor gulped down some water, finally swallowing the osmanthus cake.

He patted his chest; his prejudice against human food deepened—he had never choked when eating large amounts of meat!

"Why is Guoba using a chili pepper as a weapon?!" Yu Jin watched Guoba put away the giant chili, which was far larger than any ordinary chili, and could no longer suppress his urge to complain.

He had never seen anyone use a chili pepper as a weapon before. Are all the Gods here so unique?

"Haha, actually, it's just an ordinary chili pepper." Xiangling laughed upon hearing Yu Jin's complaint.

If there was anything special about Guoba, besides breathing fire, it was his love for chili peppers.

Whenever Xiangling was cooking in the wild and lacked seasonings, shaking Guoba would always produce a few chili peppers.

"It's truly a struggle for him; such a large chili pepper is hard to find." Yu Jin compared it in his mind; Guoba's chili was almost as thick as his forearm.

Yu Jin had certainly never seen a chili pepper that big before.

"Awooo—"

Just as the group was discussing Guoba's unique traits, a pure wolf howl suddenly came from ahead.

Xiangling compared it to Yu Jin's howl and nodded slightly. It seemed the people of Springvale were right; Yu Jin's howl was indeed a ghost howl.

"We've arrived, the Wolflord Boreas." Razor translated for Xiangling and Yu Jin after hearing the wolf howl.

Continuing to follow the wolf pack, the previously dense forest abruptly ended. In its place were towering rock formations and a massive pit carved from gray stone.

The pit was large and perfectly circular. The rock walls were etched with patterns of wolves and wind, resembling an altar.

In the center of the giant pit, something appeared to be impaled. Others might not have been able to see clearly, but with Yu Jin's eyesight, it was easy to identify.

It was a greatsword, its blade long since eroded by time, its original appearance no longer discernible. Yet, even so, the greatsword stood erect, as straight as ever.

Yu Jin's hands immediately itched. Wasn't this kind of thing an invitation for him to go and pull it out?

As for what would happen after pulling it out, forgive him, Yu Jin had never considered that question.

"Wolvendom… it actually has a place like this?" Xiangling looked around. This giant pit was tightly enveloped by dense forest, making it truly difficult for ordinary people to imagine such a magnificent structure here.

"This is where the Wolflord sleeps." Razor looked at the enormous deep pit before him, feeling a surge of excitement.

Despite having been here many times, Razor was still affected by the rich wolf aura and cold wind of the place.

The scent of wolves permeated everywhere here; even the breeze was a wolf's roar.

"Good, good, good! It seems your Wolflord is quite considerate, even sleeping with his pack members." Yu Jin applauded upon seeing the scene on the stone platform at the bottom of the giant pit.

On the large plaza at the bottom of the pit, also paved with stone, lay many wolves of various fur colors. Their eyes were slightly closed, making them appear to be sleeping.

Are wolves that lazy? The sun's already out, and they're not getting up? Yu Jin looked at the sun hanging in the Sky, inwardly criticizing such slacking behavior.

"Not sleeping, wolves with injuries come here." Razor noticed Yu Jin's gaze and explained.

The Wolflord's aura not only made the wolf pack comfortable but also helped heal their injuries. This was also why Razor had been here many times.

"Let's go down." Razor saw the wolf pack move again, so he said to Yu Jin and Xiangling.

This place was different from the previous dense forest; perhaps because the wolf pack frequently came here, a winding path led from the high ground down to the bottom.

Following the path down, the group officially arrived at a corner of the wolf altar. From here, the wolves lying there to recover looked almost like tiny gray-white dots.

This altar was so large that it was more than enough for a Dragon to move around freely.

"Whoosh!"

A biting cold wind swept through, carrying fine snow from an unknown source, obscuring the distant view.

The sudden cold almost made Yu Jin think he was back on Dragonspine. Fortunately, this cold didn't last too long.

As the cold wind dissipated, an enormous giant wolf, more than ten meters long, emerged from the wind.

The giant wolf was entirely blue-green, its flowing mane moved without wind, reflecting the sunlight like countless ice crystals.

At this moment, it was enveloped in a faint blue light, appearing somewhat ethereal.

However, as the blue light dimmed, this ethereal quality vanished with it. Standing before them was a tangible giant wolf, the Wolflord of Wolvendom.

Yu Jin looked up at this giant wolf. Didn't they say Gods lose their bodies but retain their intelligence? How did this one retain two intelligences?

Was it so lonely that it developed a personality disorder?

It wasn't surprising he thought this, because in Yu Jin's eyes, the Boreas before him was two intertwined shadows of light.

One was stained with blue and white, the other flowed with a clear breeze. The two souls intertwined, truly resembling a personality disorder.

If he had to say, the Damselette and the Wolflord bore a tiny resemblance. The Damselette lived for five hundred years after her original memories were sealed.

Although the simultaneous awakening of both memories would impact her mind, essentially, the Damselette's soul was intact.

But the Wolflord was different; two completely distinct souls intertwined, and so harmoniously at that, which was truly rare.

To compare with the Damselette again, in Yu Jin's eyes, the Damselette's fiery soul had grown numerous sharp thorns, as if something was fiercely piercing her soul.

As for the Wolflord, Yu Jin raised his hands to form a telescope shape and scrutinized it. Hmm, very round, very complete. It seemed the two souls were even chatting!

"Tsk tsk tsk, how pathetic. It's one thing to be inferior to ordinary people, but now even wolves are superior." Yu Jin shook his head, mocking the Damselette from afar.

"So, have you two settled things?" After his mockery, Yu Jin returned to the main topic.
