Chapter 79 - Chapter 79 U16 Competition

Lin Feng felt as if he were in a surging ocean, with crowds of people like a tide, faces appearing and disappearing before his eyes. Every fan held a deep love and support for him. Some fans even brought their entire families to the arrival gate, with little girls sitting on their fathers' shoulders, dressed in mini Chinese fan outfits, their eyes sparkling with excitement as they reached out their small hands to Lin Feng for photos and autographs.

Lin Feng's heart was touched by this profound emotion. He smiled and fulfilled every fan's request, taking photos with them and signing his name. However, as time passed, the crowd at the arrival gate grew increasingly dense, causing considerable trouble for the airport staff.

Just then, his agent, Snyder, quietly approached Lin Feng, a hint of worry in his voice: "Lin Feng, there are too many people. This will inconvenience the airport. Let's head back to the hotel first; there will be many more opportunities to interact with fans later."

Lin Feng listened to his agent's words. Although he felt a bit reluctant, he understood that the current situation indeed required them to make an adjustment. He nodded, waved to the fans, expressing his apologies and gratitude. Then, accompanied by his agent and his mother, he slowly walked out of the arrival gate and embarked on the journey to the hotel.

After returning to the hotel, there was a soft knock on Lin Feng's room door. He opened it to find his agent, Snyder, standing outside, a smile on his face.

"Lin Feng, let's talk in the room," Snyder said, stepping inside.

Lin Feng nodded, followed Snyder into the room, and closed the door.

Snyder sat on the sofa, took a file from his briefcase, and handed it to Lin Feng, "This is your itinerary for this period. I've already contacted the coordinator from the Chinese Football Association, and they highly value your potential."

Lin Feng took the file, browsed through it, and found that his schedule was already packed. He looked up at Snyder, "It looks like I'll be very busy."

Snyder smiled, "Yes, but this is also a great opportunity for you to showcase yourself. Director Chen from the National Team Management Department has already included you in this period's National Team call-up list, which will be announced to the media in two days. The National Team will assemble the day after tomorrow, so you can rest in Guangzhou tomorrow and adjust your condition."

Upon hearing this news, Lin Feng felt both excited and nervous. He knew this was his chance to play for the National Team and a stage to show his strength to the world. He took a deep breath, looking at Snyder with determination, "I will give it my all."

After reporting the work, Snyder left Lin Feng's room.

The next day, Snyder did not come to Lin Feng's room early, allowing him to enjoy a long-awaited natural wake-up. Sunlight streamed onto the bed through the curtains. Lin Feng stretched, savoring the rare leisure.

After getting up, he picked up the phone by the bed and called Snyder. Lin Feng's voice revealed a hint of excitement: "Snyder, I want to go shopping with my mother in Guangzhou's commercial district. It's not often I return to China, and I want to experience the atmosphere of my hometown."

On the other end of the phone, Snyder seemed a bit hesitant: "Lin Feng, I understand your thoughts, but your situation is a bit special now. If your whereabouts are leaked, it's likely to attract a large number of fans, and could even block the streets. For your safety and convenience, I suggest you wait until after the National Team's match day duties are over before arranging such activities."

Lin Feng's mood became somewhat dejected after hearing Snyder's words. He had originally thought that after returning to China, he could freely stroll through his hometown's commercial streets and enjoy the life of an ordinary person. He hadn't expected that as a famous player, his movements would be subject to so many restrictions. He sighed, saying somewhat helplessly, "Alright, I understand. Then I'll go after the match."

However, on the other end of the phone, Snyder's voice suddenly became cheerful: "However, I found out there's a U16 age group match today between the Guangzhou Football Association and the Qingyuan Football Association, taking place in the suburbs of Guangzhou. If you're interested, I can accompany you to watch."

Lin Feng's previously dejected mood instantly lit up; matches always ignited his passion. He immediately replied, "Of course, I'd love to go!"

Snyder said with a smile, "Great, then that's settled. I'll arrange a car to pick you up shortly, and we'll go watch these young players' match together."

After ending the call, Lin Feng's mood became one of anticipation. Although he couldn't shop like an ordinary person, watching a youth football match was a different kind of experience. He looked forward to seeing the performance of these young players, perhaps even discovering some future football stars among them.

Lin Feng and Snyder arrived discreetly at the match venue, both wearing sunglasses. Lin Feng also added a mask and a baseball cap to minimize the possibility of being recognized by fans. They sat in the car, watching the U16 players warming up on the field from a distance.

Lin Feng glanced at the match sign, which read "GD Provincial Games Men's U16 Group B Final: Guangzhou Football Association Team vs. Qingyuan Football Association Team." He felt a little excited, as this was an important showdown concerning the provincial youth training strength.

"It seems today's match will be very intense," Snyder commented.

Lin Feng nodded, "Yes, you can tell from the warm-up status of these players that they are all very spirited."

The two got out of the car and walked to a spectator area by the field. This spot was relatively far from the pitch and had some cover, allowing them to watch the match relatively discreetly. Although Lin Feng couldn't interact directly with the players, he still enjoyed this process of observation and learning.

The young players on the field were eagerly preparing, their full-hearted appearance sending Lin Feng's thoughts back to the distant training grounds in England. At that time, he was still a lonely Asian teenager, facing an unfamiliar environment and culture, and he felt immense pressure. However, it was his love for football and his desire for success that supported him through that difficult period, step by step.

The images in his memory gradually became clear, and Lin Feng seemed to return to that innocent age. He remembered his persistence and hard work on the English training ground, the day-after-day arduous training, and the days fighting alongside his teammates. It was that experience that made him more resilient and confident, and laid a solid foundation for his achievements today.

Thinking of this, a flicker of determination flashed in Lin Feng's eyes. He knew that no matter how many challenges and difficulties he would encounter in the future, he would, just like back then, bravely move forward with his love for football and his desire for success. He would continue to train hard, contribute his strength to the National Team, and strive for the rise of Chinese Football.
