Chapter 70 - Chapter 70 Tie

Head Coach Escribá strode into the locker room, his expression serious and solemn. His gaze swept over each player's face, as if searching their innermost thoughts.

He took a deep breath and said in a low, firm voice, "I bear undeniable responsibility for the first half's result. But I want you to understand that our failure today was not because we were inferior in skill, but because we underestimated our opponent."

He paused slightly, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes, and continued, "Steaua București is not an easy opponent; their defense is like an iron wall, and we failed to find a way to break it. In the second half, I want you to fight like true warriors, to challenge every opponent, and to seize every opportunity!"

His voice gradually rose, filled with passion and determination. He waved his fist, as if igniting the players' fighting spirit: "We are a united team; we possess excellent technique and tactical prowess. As long as we work together, nothing can stop our progress!"

The players were infected by Head Coach's impassioned speech, and their eyes gleamed with firm resolve.

They knew this was not a time for complaints and surrender, but a time to unite and face the challenges of the second half. They all looked up, their gazes fixed on Head Coach, as if ready to embrace the upcoming battle.

Escribá walked to the tactics board and quickly sketched out the tactical layout for the second half.

"Borré, you need to rest in the second half." Escribá turned to look at the striker Borré, who was sitting in the corner, his tone firm and decisive. Borré looked up, a hint of disappointment in his eyes, but he also understood that Head Coach's decision was for the overall benefit of the team. He nodded, indicating obedience and respect.

"N'Diaye, prepare to come on." Escribá's gaze shifted to the Senegalese player N'Diaye, who was sitting on the other side. N'Diaye immediately stood up, his eyes sparkling with excitement and anticipation. He knew this was Head Coach's trust and expectation of him.

"Strengthening the midfield's toughness is our key for the second half," Escribá emphasized again. His gaze swept over the players' faces, as if seeking their response. The players nodded in agreement and understanding.

Head Coach Escribá's adjustment was clear and pragmatic. He hoped that by bringing on N'Diaye, he could strengthen the team's midfield defense, thereby unleashing Rodri and Bruno Soriano's attacking and organizational talents.

N'Diaye is known for his excellent physical condition and defensive ability, and his presence will provide a solid barrier for the team's midfield.

When Escribá announced this decision, Rodri and Bruno Soriano's faces showed a sense of relief. They knew that with N'Diaye's support, they would be able to focus more on utilizing their strengths in attack, creating more scoring opportunities for the team.

"N'Diaye, it's up to you." Escribá patted the Senegalese player's shoulder, his eyes full of expectation. N'Diaye nodded, a determined glint in his eyes. He quickly began warming up, ready for the upcoming challenge.

N'Diaye stood at the entrance of the locker room, took a deep breath, his eyes gleaming with firm anticipation.

He took off his sports jacket, revealing the tight-fitting sportswear underneath, his muscle lines clearly visible, appearing full of power. He knew that he would face an important challenge in the second half, and he was ready.

Led by the assistant coach, N'Diaye walked out of the locker room and onto the aisle leading to the warm-up area.

The locker room bell rang urgently and loudly, signaling the start of the second half. Villarreal's players quickly emerged from the locker room, passed through the player tunnel, and stepped onto the field.

Although the Europa League was not Villarreal's primary goal for this season, no one would turn down a victory.

As soon as the second half began, N'Diaye appeared as a solid barrier in Villarreal's midfield, protecting Villarreal's midfield.

Under his protection, Bruno Soriano and Rodri were completely unleashed; they no longer needed to be distracted by defense, fully dedicating themselves to organizing the attack.

In the 65th minute of the match, the atmosphere on the field grew increasingly tense. Bruno Soriano stood near the center circle, his eyes as sharp as an eagle, tightly observing every movement on the field. Suddenly, he noticed Rodri in the open space on the left; the opposing player seemed unaware of this threat, and Rodri was waiting alone for an opportunity.

Bruno Soriano's heart stirred; he knew this was a rare opportunity. He quickly adjusted his position, forming a tacit understanding with his passing teammate. Immediately after, a precise pass flew towards him, and Bruno Soriano, relying on his rich experience, perfectly chested the ball down, bringing it firmly under his control.

He did not hesitate, but immediately sent a precise long pass to Rodri on the left. At this moment, his heartbeat seemed to synchronize with the speed of the ball; every cell was tense for this pass.

Upon receiving the ball, Rodri felt the trust from Bruno Soriano. He did not betray this trust, skillfully dribbling past the opponent's defender with his refined footwork. His movements were fluid and natural, as if he were performing an elegant dance.

After dribbling past the defender, Rodri did not try to take all the credit, but quickly observed the situation on the field and spotted Pato making a run. He unhesitatingly passed the ball to Pato; at this moment, his heart was only for the team, only for victory.

When Pato received Rodri's pass, he was on the right side of the opponent's half, approximately 25 meters from the goal. He glanced at the goal, then quickly observed the positions and movements of the opposing defenders. He realized that there was only one defender in front of him, and this player's attention seemed to be drawn by his other teammates.

Pato's heart filled with joy; he knew he had to seize this opportunity. He quickly adjusted his pace and rhythm, preparing to use his speed and skill to break through the opponent's defense. He first made a feint, making the defender mistakenly believe he was going to break through to the left. Then, he suddenly changed direction and accelerated to the right.

The defender was momentarily confused by Pato's feint, and by the time he reacted, Pato had already surged past him. He tried to use his body to block Pato's attack, but Pato, relying on his excellent physical condition and skill, cleverly bypassed him and continued to charge towards the goal.

As he approached the goal, Pato saw that the opposing goalkeeper had already prepared for a save. He did not hesitate, but struck a curling shot with the outside of his right foot. The ball arced beautifully through the air, then accurately nestled into the bottom right corner of the goal.
