Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: Paramecia—Teleport-Teleport Fruit Secured

Beehive Island, also known as the Pirates' Paradise.

In the eyes of some New World pirates, this island holds a place as singular as Loguetown does in the East Blue.

The famed Davy Back Fight spread from here.

The island's previous boss has faded into history—known only to a few as the pirate overlord Rocks D. Xebec.

Likewise, only a handful know that the current boss of Beehive, Wang Zhi, once sailed under Rocks.

Not just Wang Zhi—three of today's Four Emperors once flew the Rocks flag.

That alone shows how glorious and overbearing the Rocks Pirates once were.

As a pirates' paradise, Beehive Island has always been a holy land for the most vicious kind.

Countless pirates rush here from all over the world to play pirate games and steal each other's crew, or to traffic arms and every kind of contraband…

Aside from residents protected by the Wang Zhi Pirates, no ordinary folk dare set foot here.

Day or night, the place is always roaring.

Shouts and curses, cheers and screams… they echo across Beehive Island until people grow numb to them, unalarmed.

Gazing over the island with Clairvoyance, Yami suddenly understood why New World pirates call the first half of the Grand Line "Paradise."

Compared to this, even the most chaotic spot there—Sabaody—looks like children playing house.

"So messy. So disgusting," Nami muttered from within subspace, brows knit as she watched Beehive through her one-of-a-kind Observation Haki.

"Get used to it. In a world where 'pirate' is the mainstream profession, places this filthy are too many to count," Yami said flatly.

As someone from another world, he felt no ripple of emotion at this world's tragedies—and had no intention of changing it.

After all… what did it have to do with him?

So long as he and those he cherished lived happily, that was enough.

Saving the world was the job of the world's chosen son.

"Nami, come with me to Beehive. Carina, wait here."

Yami didn't steer the Pegasus to the island, instead hovering some distance away. He spoke to the girls.

"Okay, Master."

Nami and the others nodded in unison.

Yami didn't head out immediately. He first fetched a cask from the cabin, lifted it with the Float-Float Fruit, then princess-carried Nami and took the cask toward Beehive Island.

On the way, Nami rested against his chest—no teasing this time—pulled out Elliot Borg's wanted poster, studied the photo, and extended her unique Observation Haki to hunt for Borg on Beehive.

Yami was searching with Clairvoyance as well.

"Master, I've got him."

Without X-Ray Vision to pair with his sight, Yami was slower than Nami this time.

"Good work."

He didn't mind; instead he smiled, gratified.

Unknowingly, the girl who once trembled at the name Arlong had grown into someone who could stand on her own.

Following Nami's directions, Yami quickly found Elliot Borg.

It was night outside. The man was in a room, asleep with two naked blonde women in his arms.

Had Yami and Nami been in the real world, the stench would have been unbearable.

Even within green-hued subspace, the scene made Nami's eyes sting.

"Good news—he's fallen. Pretty much a wreck."

Sensing her expression change, Yami smiled.

"Heh, exactly," Nami said, brightening. "The Teleport-Teleport Fruit is way too good for trash like this. Time to give a jewel a new owner."

Nami popped open the floating cask for him, revealing it brimful of seawater.

Under Yami's control, the barrel sank into the subspace floor like a well, its mouth aligned beneath Borg's bed.

Then Yami hovered up, amplified with one hand, opened an air door with the other, and called, "Multiply the barrel twentyfold!"

A transparent halo flashed; the barrel swelled rapidly, its mouth widening to a small pool.

Creak—splash!!!

The door's opening was followed at once by the thud of heavy things hitting water.

In the real world, the floor beneath Borg's bed split open like a door of green and blue—green for subspace, blue for the little pool of seawater.

The bed, denied the ground, dropped like a boulder into the cask, throwing up a sheet of spray.

The sudden drain on stamina shocked the sleeping Borg and his blondes awake in an instant.

The blondes were fine—no Devil Fruit powers—so the moment they came to, they instinctively swam up.

Zzzzz…

Just then, blue-white lightning threaded the water. Both women's eyes rolled back as they went limp.

Had Nami not held back, they'd have died like electrocuted fish.

Like the women, Borg came to as he drowned, but being a Devil Fruit user, he couldn't move a muscle, nor trigger his power.

"That's enough. He's out."

Outside the cask, Yami watched Borg with X-Ray Vision and Mind Reading. Once sure the man was out cold, he nodded to Nami.

She stopped the current.

As the barrel returned to normal size, three drenched naked bodies flopped onto the green floor.

"Master, neither of them saw me. Can we let them go?"

Looking at the blondes on the ground, kind-hearted Nami asked.

"We can—but if we put them back, they might wish they were dead."

Yami, fingers already practiced, crushed Elliot Borg's windpipe and said, "Borg is one of the Wang Zhi Pirates' top officers. His disappearance will alarm Wang Zhi. These two will definitely be interrogated about their involvement."

"If they don't know how he vanished, Wang Zhi won't spare them."

"On an island like this, women tied to the upper ranks aren't exactly saints. Letting them go could mean some innocent dies tomorrow."

"Killing them now might free them—or at least spare others."

Nami's face wavered with conflict.

But quickly, the girl decided. "Spare them. Whether they live isn't up to us."

"Alright. Toss them out."

Yami didn't press her. He'd recruited Nami in part for this kindness—and trusted her quickly for the same reason.

Changing her worldview would take time.

Whatever the moral ledger, and however the blondes fared, at least Nami could face her conscience today.

They opened an air door and cast the two women out. Then Yami released darkness and stripped Elliot Borg's power.

Before long, as the black mist faded, Yami had his fifth strategic-grade Devil Fruit…

The Paramecia-type Teleport-Teleport Fruit.

In that instant, Yami's lineage factor reshaped once more.
