Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: The Interastral Peace Corporation Arrives

Himeko had turned into Zoe's little tag-along, following her around every day to learn all sorts of knowledge related to machinery.

After all this time, whether her technical skills had actually improved or not was uncertain. But as for flattery skills, she had already reached perfection, so much so that now Zoe felt uneasy if she didn't hear Himeko flatter her at least once a day.

After Zoe intercepted her, March 7th and Stelle smoothly teamed up with Acheron.

These three gluttons, once united, found that simply eating and drinking in human cities could no longer satisfy them. Their eyes turned toward the entire blossoming planet.

The three rode in the amphibious land-air-sea combat vehicle Zoe had specially built for them, wandering aimlessly all over the planet Jarilo, eating whatever they saw along the way, having the time of their lives.

While the women were busy indulging themselves in pleasure and fun, Welt, Dan Heng, and Emiya, the three men, took on the heavy responsibility of preaching and teaching.

The people of Belobog, who had endured a cruel age, possessed an almost fanatical obsession with improving combat ability.

When they heard that Emiya and the others were opening martial arts schools for free, for a time it created such a scene that the streets were deserted, everyone rushing to join.

To ensure that every person could learn combat knowledge without neglecting their work, Emiya deliberately asked Zoe to install televisions in every Belobog household.

Normally, they could broadcast important messages or entertainment programs, but from 2 to 5 in the afternoon each day, it became a fixed period when Emiya and the other two took turns as lecturers.

The lessons included combat skills and techniques, but more importantly, they focused on inspiring the people's minds, opening up their narrow hearts and horizons.

They taught them to learn independence and self-strength, to use their own hands to protect their homeland, instead of blindly praying for divine weapons to descend or hoping the Aeons would bestow more blessings.

With the people's welfare no longer something she had to carry alone, Cocolia, the Supreme Guardian, could finally live as an idle person for once.

She took Bronya with her, found a piece of fragrant land outside the city, personally built several small cottages, and raised some small animals that had survived accidents.

Mother and daughter finally lived a period of carefree happiness.

Only Gepard still couldn't step out of the shadow of the past. Every day, he wandered aimlessly outside Belobog, looking at the city he had given everything for, sighing silently.

He was just a rough man who had spent almost all his time studying how to lead troops in battle. He simply couldn't adapt to this era of peace and prosperity.

For a time, he tried to join his sister Serval in studying music. But unfortunately, he didn't have a single musical bone in his body, he could only mess things up and couldn't enjoy it himself.

"Gepard, stop wallowing in self-pity. Your people still need you. There are still things you must do." Welt came to him uninvited.

"Mr. Welt, don't comfort me anymore. I know my own limits. The world already has you all, that's enough. If I joined in, I'd only make things worse."

Slap!

Welt's eyes went blood-red as he smacked Gepard across the face. The force was so great it spun him 360 degrees in the air before he tumbled to the ground.

"You are the leader of Belobog! How can you hand over your homeland entirely to others!" Welt's hands trembled, he wanted to slap Gepard again, and also wanted to slap himself.

"But… but I really can't…" Gepard lay on the ground, staring up at the sky that had turned into blue skies and white clouds. His emotions finally burst free, and tears as big as beans fell nonstop.

"If it weren't for big brother Emiya, I wouldn't even have had the courage to get rid of the parasites of the Landau family, let alone this sky. I'm just useless."

"Sigh, get up." Welt sighed softly, crouched down to pull Gepard up, and brushed off all the weeds and dust on him.

"The Emiya family has an extraordinary background. They won't stay here long. The Astral Express is the same. You have to use the time we're still here to learn everything you need to govern a nation."

It is said that guarding a legacy is even harder than creating one. As a former leader, Welt naturally saw the crisis hidden beneath Belobog's prosperity.

In truth, harsh as it sounded, without Zoe's all-powerful robot army, the people of Belobog were no different from babbling infants.

Nationwide martial arts training could indeed help the people defend themselves in danger. Learning knowledge was also very important. But it was foreseeable that once Emiya and the other unrivaled gods left, political turmoil would inevitably follow.

The existing Silvermane Guards, already corroded by peaceful living, would probably be crushed effortlessly by the suddenly stronger and smarter people, plunging Jarilo back into chaos.

Then Jarilo would undergo the same regime changes as every other backward planet, warlords dividing the land. Even without foreign powers crushing them, no one knew how many years it would take before they truly became strong.

Before leaving, Welt wanted to establish a solid and awe-inspiring government, along with a political program that could continue to guide the people.

Most importantly, there needed to be a leader who could command the people's respect, and a powerful army that would firmly carry out the leader's decisions.

———

In the blink of an eye, three months passed. Centered around the "Ideal Town," more than a hundred villages of various sizes had been built.

The villagers worked from sunrise to sunset, living in both physical and spiritual abundance, and newborns gradually increased.

Just during the days since the train's arrival, more than 30,000 babies had been born.

"Welt, isn't today Emiya's turn as lecturer? Why are you up so early, where are you going?"

At six in the morning, Himeko sleepily got up, planning to wash up before reporting to Zoe. She hadn't expected that Welt was already fully dressed and ready to go out.

For the past month, Welt had been going out for longer and longer periods, sometimes not even returning to the Express at night. Himeko even suspected that Jarilo was about to "steal him away."

"At 7:30 this morning, Gepard, Bronya, and Cocolia will all go to the Silvermane Guards' camp. I need to go there and give a speech." Welt pulled out his little notebook and read his schedule word by word.

"The number of newborns has increased, but related medical knowledge hasn't yet spread. At 1 p.m., I scheduled Zoe to help me make an educational animation about childcare knowledge. At 3 p.m., I arranged…"

"Tsk…" Listening to Welt rattle on endlessly, Himeko couldn't help rubbing her faintly aching forehead. "Don't tell me you plan to stay here as some kind of military strategist!"

"Of course not." Welt smiled, a brilliant smile, his snow-white teeth shining dazzlingly in the morning sun.

"The leaders and warriors of Belobog will soon no longer need anyone pointing fingers at them. I believe they can rely on themselves to make their homeland strong and prosperous again."

"Haha, that really is good news…" Himeko's smile had just appeared on her face, then froze stiff.
