"Clack!"
The door closed behind him. The ordinary sound nonetheless made Lucas, who was already drowning in panic, flinch violently.
He widened his eyes and looked at Arthur sitting in front of him. Even without the bodyguards pressing him down, he had already dropped to his knees on his own, speaking in a rush without pause. "Arthur, you have to save me. Right now, you're the only one who can save me!"
Only then did Arthur slowly lift his gaze. In those eyes was still that unmistakable gentleness, yet the words he spoke plunged Lucas into despair. "Save you? Why should I save you?"
Lucas stared at Arthur in a daze, hurriedly saying, "I can be your dog. I can do anything. Please, I can't leave the entertainment industry."
Arthur paused for a moment, then suddenly laughed. "Be my dog? Do you think you're worthy?"
There was almost no humiliation greater than this, yet Lucas had no other choice. What did a little humiliation matter? The future was far more important than that.
