"What?!"
Raya's voice burst out louder than she intended, sharp and incredulous, bouncing off the walls as if the room itself had taken offense on her behalf.
Adrian didn't flinch.
He didn't even look surprised.
If anything, he looked… entertained.
Mildly, dangerously entertained, like a man who had just struck a match, dropped it into gasoline, and was now calmly waiting to see how spectacular the explosion would be.
"What are you talking about?" Raya asked
"Relax," he said lazily, his tone infuriatingly unbothered. "Your memory loss isn't my responsibility."
Raya stared at him.
For half a second, her mind went completely blank, like someone had shaken her thoughts loose and scattered them across the floor. Then everything rushed back at once, colliding into confusion, irritation, and something dangerously close to panic.
There was no way Adrian knew she was the woman from that night
