Under the neon lights, a slim girl, about thirteen years old, stood waiting at an intersection. She looked similar to the green-haired girl from the alley, but her hair was a gorgeous, waist-length red. Her face was as delicate and beautiful as a doll's, but without a trace of makeup, clean and tender. She was wearing an ordinary school skirt, and she looked elegant and calm, already with the makings of a great beauty.

"Wanda!"

A voice called out, and Pietro, with his silver hair, ran up to her.

Wanda didn't say much, just looked at him calmly. Pietro, who had been so brave in the face of the gangsters, immediately deflated like a roasted eggplant under his sister's gaze.

"Did you get into trouble again?" she asked softly.

"No, no trouble," he said, shaking his head violently.

"Let's go home," she said, and turned to walk down the street.

Pietro quickly followed, and on the way home, he told her everything that had happened, omitting, of course, the part about introducing his "sister" to Leo.

"I see," Wanda said, pondering for a moment. "I'll have to thank them in person someday. After all, they took a big risk to save you."

"There will be a chance," Pietro smiled. "I gave him our address."

"Alright," she nodded, and they returned to their three-story house.

Neither of them noticed that on the corner of the street, a green figure was leaning against a wall. Through the window, the figure could vaguely see the reunion of the family of four inside. After a while, the green figure turned and disappeared into the night.

After Leo and Nami had handed the purse over to the police, they just barely made it back to the apartment in time for the instructor's bed check. Leo let out a sigh of relief. Tonight had been full of surprises. Surely, there won't be any more accidents on this trip, right? A person can't be that unlucky.

But at that same moment, on the other side of New York City, great changes were taking place.

Inside a cathedral, with its colorful murals and magnificent atmosphere, a peaceful cello sonata was playing. Many celebrities were in the main hall, enjoying the sacred and tranquil atmosphere. But that tranquility was about to be shattered.

CRASH!

A man in a suit was violently smashed onto a table in the center of the hall by an evil-looking, black-haired young man. The young man then used a strange, black-tech instrument to scan the man's eye.

In the ensuing chaos and screams, the young man, his face calm, paced toward the church door, a metal scepter with a glowing blue gem at its top in his hand. As he walked, a dazzling golden light appeared, and his suit was replaced by golden armor with domineering double horns and a dark green cloak.

He walked out of the church, and, as if annoyed by the noise outside, he raised his scepter and blasted a passing police car with a scorching energy blast.

"Kneel before me," he announced with an evil smile. "I am your god!"

The next morning, the second day of the new year, was also the day of Superman's trial. But in New York City, the weather was still sunny and bright, and the city was still peaceful.

Early in the morning, Instructor Harrington and his assistant, Mysterio, took the students to visit the Statue of Liberty. They spent the entire morning there, and then, around noon, they returned to Manhattan and headed for the most prosperous and modern Times Square.

The school bus parked in front of a shopping mall. The female students, who had been complaining about their tired feet all morning, were immediately re-energized by the prospect of shopping and began to divide into small teams.

Leo, however, chose to sit in a lounge chair on the fourth floor of the mall. He watched the other students scatter into the cosmetics, clothes, and game shops, and then looked at Nami, who was sitting quietly next to him.

"Don't you want to look at clothes again?" he asked. "I can still walk with you."

"No need," she said, gently shaking her head and tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear. "The one you bought me last night is enough."

His heart suddenly jumped. He looked at her graceful profile and suddenly found that the girl he had grown up with was now more and more beautiful. Sometimes, when you looked at something you had grown accustomed to, you would inadvertently see a new side of it. He suddenly realized why Captain Morgan was so hostile to him. But now that he had realized this, could he still treat her as just a good brother?

As he was thinking this, he saw her shudder.

The hair on her arms stood up, and her pupils contracted slightly. She looked out the window of the shopping mall, inexplicably. On the highway in front of the mall, all the cars had stopped. The drivers and pedestrians on the street were all looking up at the sky, their faces dull, a boundless fear enveloping their hearts.

"What is that?"

Many of the students and customers in the mall also looked up in surprise. Leo and Nami got up and came to the floor-to-ceiling windows.

A huge blue beam of light was shooting up from the top of the Stark Industries headquarters building. It pierced through the sky, tearing open a dark and terrible gap in the blue canvas. From the abyss, countless small black objects filed out, descending on the city below. Dozens of them were heading straight for Times Square.
