Chapter 15: Beer, Confessions, and a Tipsy Night
Xiao Xiao commented on me as I ate:"Ji Lin, your cooking skills are amazing! Whoever becomes your future lover will definitely be very famous!"
I paused for a moment, feeling both embarrassed and surprised. I thought to myself: Girl, your thoughts are racing! Still, I couldn't be sure if she could ever become my lover… but at least I could let her enjoy some delicious food and savor every bite!
Then Wang Dong'er said enthusiastically:"Ji Lin, come on, you've worked hard. Let's drink!"
I felt a slight dizziness as I accepted the wine glass from her, then grabbed Xiao Xiao's glass, and we decided to clink our cups together.
"Come on! Xiao Xiao, join us!"
We clinked glasses and drank in one go.
"Mmm! This feels amazing!"
Xiao Xiao licked her lips with a satisfied smile, as if to say: Ha, this is the best thing today!
She then pulled out two extra bottles of beer and placed them on the table. She popped the cap off one and handed it to me with a smile:
"Here, another bottle!"
I looked at her, thinking to myself: They're usually so calm, but after a few drinks… what joy! I didn't expect it to be this much fun.
Suddenly, Xiao Xiao joined in on the fun. She stood up and grabbed the beer from Wang Dong'er's hand, looking as if she intended to pour it straight into my mouth!
Oh my… could she really pour the beer in my mouth?!
I screamed internally and stopped her immediately:"Don't do it!"
Hearing my words, Wang Dong'er immediately frowned and said angrily:"Hmph, why are you so shy? It's just a couple of bottles of beer! What's the problem? Do you think I can actually get you drunk? Come on, come on!"
She extended her slender, delicate white hand toward me, pretending to act coy.
Despite my embarrassment, I couldn't refuse her kindness and playful teasing. I took the beer from her hand and clinked it with my glass:"Chug, chug—"
I tilted my head back and poured the entire bottle into my mouth, swallowing it all in one go.
"Ji Lin, what are you doing? That's it! No, we have to keep going!"
I heard Wang Dong'er protest, then she grabbed two more bottles of beer, pressing them between her arms, signaling for me to drink them as well.
I realized immediately that Wang Dong'er must be slightly tipsy from the scene; otherwise, she wouldn't have acted so boldly!
Worried she might overdo it, I waved my hand quickly:"Dong'er, Xiao Xiao, we have a competition tomorrow. No more drinking!"
Wang Dong'er pouted her pink lips, a hint of annoyance showing, but she blinked her bright eyes and asked gently:"What's wrong? Are you unhappy with having dinner with us tonight, so you're making excuses to refuse?"
My heart trembled at her words. I rubbed my nose, feeling guilty, and quickly explained:"No, of course not! How could I ever refuse your invitation?"
She gave a mischievous smile and said:"So you're afraid I'll get you drunk, and that's why you won't dare to play with me anymore!"
I stammered inwardly: How can this be! Even if I'm completely hopeless, I can't be this incompetent to drink a few pounds of alcohol!
I watched as Xiao Xiao wobbled slightly beside Wang Dong'er, then sat down and handed her a bottle of beer.
I said confidently:"Really? I didn't expect you to drink this much! But I want to drink with Wang Dong'er!"
Xiao Xiao raised her glass and gave Wang Dong'er a sweet smile.
"Dong'er, come on, I'll drink with you!"
Wang Dong'er smiled, a little worried, and said:"Xiao Xiao, you're tipsy too. You should take a break!"
Honestly, I didn't want Xiao Xiao drinking with Wang Dong'er, but it seemed she was determined.
Xiao Xiao laughed and replied:"It's fine, it's just one bottle. I won't get drunk! Let's drink first!"
She tilted her head back and downed the entire bottle in an instant, then wiped the beer from the corner of her mouth and shouted to Wang Dong'er and me:"Ji Lin, give me another bottle!"
I smiled wryly, thinking: It seems Xiao Xiao is determined to stay with Wang Dong'er… and perhaps her motives aren't entirely innocent.
I tried to control my excitement and told myself: Xiao Xiao, drink slowly. I'll join you!
I grabbed a bottle of beer, imitating her actions, and felt an overwhelming happiness. Oh Ji Lin, I haven't enjoyed myself like this in a long time!
I watched as Xiao Xiao clapped her hands joyfully, her face and Wang Dong'er's both flushed, as if the slightest spark could ignite their excitement.

Xiao Xiao pointed at the tips of Dong'er's hair and said:"Dong'er, I smell something different in your hair!"
Wang Dong'er's face immediately turned bright red, clearly flustered by Xiao Xiao's closeness.
I tried to joke a little:"Hmm, Xiao Xiao, you must be mistaken. I think it just smells like… sweat!"
I coughed awkwardly, but it was an intentional joke to see Xiao Xiao's reaction.
Xiao Xiao stared at me sternly and said:"You're so annoying! I'm serious! Dong'er, you're the most beautiful boy I've ever seen at Partner Academy. I think you understand my feelings for you!"
I smiled to myself, thinking: As expected, Xiao Xiao really does care about Dong'er!
I saw Wang Dong'er, upon hearing Xiao Xiao's confession, become a little flustered. It was clear she was feeling a mixture of emotions.
I completely understood what was going through Xiao Xiao's mind. If she were just a boy, it would have been normal, but… she wasn't.
She was a girl disguised as a boy. And facing Xiao Xiao's pursuit, Wang Dong'er had no conditions for agreeing!
Wang Dong'er was silent for a moment, then sighed and said:"Hey, Xiao Xiao, there's something I need to tell you!"
Xiao Xiao smiled nonchalantly and said:"No, I won't listen. I just want you!"
Xiao Xiao stepped forward quickly, and fearing that Dong'er might reject her, she covered her mouth directly, using her actions to prove her sincerity!
