Chapter 72 - Rasengan Without Shadow Clone's Help

Time passed quietly, and the start of school was drawing nearer.

On this day, Naruto and the others were training in the training ground as usual.

At this moment, Naruto was holding a water balloon in each hand, releasing Chakra into them, while one of Shinji's Shadow Clones was releasing Chakra into one of the water balloons from the side.

This was something Shinji had promised Naruto after he completed the second stage of training.

After Naruto learned the Shadow Clone, Shinji naturally arranged a tutorial for him.

The Shadow Clone combined with the Rasengan, was Naruto's signature Ninjutsu, practical and quick. Moreover, Naruto himself was very suitable for burst-type combat.

After a while, Naruto finally stopped and asked Shinji, "Sensei, why is this training so troublesome?"

Shinji stopped his own training, turned to look at Naruto, and asked, "What's wrong? Can't continue?"

Naruto quickly shook his head. "No, sensei."

For his dream Rasengan, he had to succeed in training.

Naruto scratched his head and said, "It's just that you ask me to output Chakra to continuously rotate with one hand, and with the other hand, you want me to output Chakra to wrap around the rotating water balloon. This is really too difficult. I have to split my attention."

He wasn't suited for multitasking to begin with, and now Shinji was asking him to split his focus to maintain the Chakra operations of both hands during training. This was somewhat torturous.

Shinji said, "It's precisely because you can't multitask that I set up this training for you."

The reason he had asked Naruto to do this training was actually to enable Naruto to use the Rasengan by himself in the final stage.

In the original story, Naruto needed to rely on Shadow Clones to complete this operation. It wasn't until he became Hokage, as he grew older and his Chakra control became more excellent, that he could use it with one hand. But that took too long, nearly ten years of habit.

Shinji naturally couldn't let Naruto follow the old path, and this kind of training was also something he had come up with and asked Minato about.

Minato also expressed that, indeed, if the training was set up according to Shinji's method, as long as the training could be completed, Naruto would be able to use the Rasengan with one hand. It's just that it would take Naruto much longer to complete the training. However, Naruto is less than seven years old now, so he has plenty of time.

"Alright."

Naruto also knew that Shinji was doing this for his own good. It's just that this training is unusually torturous.

Just looking at the water stains on him, one could tell that he had already broken several water balloons because he couldn't control them.

Shinji naturally knew what Naruto was thinking. He just chuckled softly and said, "Naruto, look here."

Saying that, Shinji stretched out his hand and a Rasengan formed. The brilliant blue Rasengan was exceptionally dazzling in the sunlight, and the surrounding wind currents were driven by this Rasengan.

Naruto looked at the Rasengan in Shinji's hand with envious eyes, truly his dream Rasengan, beautiful no matter how he looked at it.

"Naruto, do you think the Rasengan is better used with one hand, or two hands working together, or even the cooperation of a Shadow Clone?"

"Among these three options, which do you think is the best?"

"Definitely one-handed is the coolest." Naruto said without hesitation, after all, it's a Ninjutsu without hand seals.

If he could use it with one hand when fighting Sasuke...

Just thinking about it, he felt excited.

Pat—

Shinji irritably tapped Naruto's forehead. This kid only cared about being cool.

"As a Ninjutsu, it's definitely more convenient and practical the easier it is."

"If this jutsu requires the cooperation of a Shadow Clone to be used, then the Rasengan loses its original advantage as a Ninjutsu without hand seals."

"Naruto, think about it, if you don't complete the training I arranged, won't it end up as I said?"

Naruto then rubbed his head, carefully considering Shinji's words.

The more he thought about it, the more he realized it was possible. After all, if he couldn't use it alone, he would definitely find a method in the end.

And as Naruto understood how to use Shadow Clones, he felt that he would definitely use that lame method in the end.

That's right, using a Ninjutsu with the cooperation of a Shadow Clone is just too lame.

Seeing Naruto understand what he meant, Shinji nodded with satisfaction.

"I understand, sensei."

After speaking, Naruto picked up two water balloons from a basket full of water balloons nearby.

He said to Shinji's Shadow Clone, who was standing by waiting for him, "I'll trouble you, Shadow Clone sensei number one."

"Alright, coming right up." Shinji's Shadow Clone replied somewhat helplessly.

He didn't know how Naruto could tell the difference, but every time he would be called "Shadow Clone sensei number one". No matter how he argued, it was no use.

Seeing Naruto continue his training, Shinji prepared to close his eyes. But he saw Sasuke walking towards him, his face full of conflicted emotions.

"What's wrong, Sasuke?"

Hearing Shinji call him, Sasuke took a long time to say, "Sensei, I want to start other training."

Shinji wasn't surprised to hear this, as Sasuke's Taijutsu had improved rapidly recently after being put through the wringer by his Shadow Clone.

Both his physique and Chakra control were gradually catching up. It was normal for him to want to start other areas of training now.

Shinji asked, "Sasuke, do you know your Chakra nature?"

Sasuke shook his head and said, "No, father and brother both said to just train according to your instructions, and not to do anything else when I get home."

Shinji realized that Fugaku was planning to let Sasuke grow freely. But that made sense, after all, the Uchiha clan had already reconciled with Konoha.

As the clan head, Fugaku naturally had his own ambitions. If Sasuke could become a core member of the Hokage lineage, perhaps the Uchiha might produce a Hokage in the future.

Shinji pulled out a Chakra Induction Paper from his ninja tool pouch and said, "Sasuke, release your Chakra onto this paper."

"Okay, sensei."

Seeing Shinji take out a piece of paper, Sasuke didn't say much. He simply released his Chakra onto the paper as Shinji instructed.

The next moment, half of the originally white paper turned to ash, while the other half wrinkled irregularly. This change made Sasuke pause, and he looked at Shinji with a bewildered expression.

Seeing Sasuke's Chakra nature, which was the same as in the original story, Shinji nodded. "Not bad, Sasuke. You naturally possess the Lightning Attribute and Fire Attribute."

"Lightning and Fire." Hearing this, Sasuke pondered.

Shinji asked, "Alright, Sasuke, do you want to learn Lightning Release or Fire Release first?"

Sasuke said without hesitation, "Fire Release."

After all, compared to Lightning Release, Fire Release was his clan's specialty.

Moreover, both his father and brother were skilled in Fire Release, so he wanted to learn Fire Release even more.
