The first run-through was rough.
Not bad rough. Just first-run rough.
The kind that happened every time a song rehearsed in pieces finally got put into a real room with real size and real acoustics. Things that felt tight in a smaller space needed room to breathe here. Things that felt big needed to get bigger.
Doyun's opening verse came in at full force and the monitor couldn't carry it cleanly. The sound engineer's hand went up before the second line.
Doyun stopped. Looked at the board.
"Too much?" he said.
"Just needs adjusting. Give me a second."
"How much do I pull back?"
"Don't pull back. I'll bring the monitor up to meet you. Keep the energy."
Doyun pointed at him. "I like this guy."
"Can we run it?" Haejin said.
They ran it.
