Gangnam storage facility.
1:00 AM.
The hostages had been transported.
The scene was being processed.
Manager Park, Haejin, and Soorin stood near one of the police vans.
"We should go," Manager Park said. "You both need rest."
"What about statements?" Haejin asked.
"Tomorrow. They'll want detailed interviews but tonight you just need to survive."
"I don't know if I can."
"You can. You have to."
Soorin touched his arm.
"Come on. Let's go home."
They got into Manager Park's car.
The drive was quiet.
Seoul at night looked different.
Emptier.
Like the city was holding its breath.
Manager Park's phone rang.
He answered on speaker.
"Yes?"
Hayes' voice. Tight. Stressed.
"We have a problem."
"What now?"
"Jiwon. She sent in a leave request two hours ago. Family emergency. Said she'd be out of contact."
"Two hours ago. Right when we were breaching."
"Yes."
"So she knew. Someone told her."
"Or she was watching. Either way, she's in the wind."
